Very informative walk seeing many Art Deco buildings and features we would have missed without a guide. Small group and provided with earpieces to enable to hear well

Beware when buying through TripAdvisor, I thought we were paying in NZ$, turns out it was US$ - twice the price! Despite the shock currency issue, this tour is a must. The volunteer guides do an awesome job, providing detail, humor and structure to the tour. We learnt so much, and our eyes are now open to detail we would never have realized by our selves. The afternoon tour is longer, which is better, and is less likely to have cruise ship passengers. If you can book direct through the Art Decco Trust, it's a charity and all the income is used to help preserve the buildings. TripAdvisor will obviously take a cut if you book through them.

Fantastic walking tour with extremely knowledgeable guide. Napier is a stunning town and it is like stepping back in time to the 1930’s. Highly recommended!

Terrific! Loved this Art Deco Vintage Car tour of 1.5 hours recently in Napier. Our driver was very knowledgeable, took us to fabulous places and described the architecture in detail in a light hearted, never boring manner. We went to see buildings we could never have visited on our own. The Art Deco Trust Drivers are volunteers and all the money collected goes to help preserve this charming town. We also got out of the car and went inside some buildings. Highly recommend!

Very interesting walk. The guides were very thorough and provided a lot of history, both about Napier in general and about the different styles of architecture. Everyone was very friendly and organized.

Simon our guide was great and very knowledgeable, funny and patient . We walked for one and half hours looking at the most art deco boiling I have ever seen in one place .

Excellent choice of a little city tour to take us back to our cruise ship instead of standing in line for the bus. Tony was an excellent guide who shared all about The history of Napier and the unique buildings and had a lovely ride in a 1939 Packard right to the door of our ship. Afternoon tour starts with an explanation of Art Deco, very handy to understand before looking at examples of the architecture in the city. A 90min leisurely walk and explanation of examples. Finishes with a short video about the earthquake in 1931 which caused the city to be rebuilt.

Very Informative talk and interesting history of Napier. Earthquake, fire and tectonic land raising. Finally rebuilt in the 1930’s. Information about styles of architecture, mainly art deco but spanish and others too.

If you’re looking for a mix of history and art/culture this tour is a must. Our tour guide was brimming with with knowledge and great in pointing out examples of all Art Deco forms.

This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Dave was good humoured and entertaining whilst also very informative. We stopped at a number of locations to take in the historical and architectural significance of some of Napier’s finest buildings. Napier town centre is really a sight to behold - a step back in time, and touring in a vintage car makes the whole experience more immersive. Superb way to spend an afternoon in Napier. The guides were knowledgeable & engaging so the time flew and we both enjoyed getting a great understanding of the Architecture which the town should be rightly proud of.
