    Great ending to our cruise
My wife and I were picked up at the cruise terminal by PJ and given an excellent private tour of the Auckland area including the Fernery, Soljans Estate for lunch and wine tasting, and along the beautiful coastline and the Gannet sanctuary before dropping us at the airport for our flight home. PJ was personable and knowledgeable and provided us with an excellent day in Auckland.

    Very Enjoyable Day
Susan picked my wife and I up at the cruise ship terminal. She was very friendly, attentive to our needs, interesting to talk to, an excellent driver and informative during our trip. The Waitomo Glow Worm Cave is unique and worth seeing but no photos are permitted. Hobbiton exceeded our expectations. Susan handled all the details including pit stops.

    glow worms and Hobbits
We had a great time. Susan was our host. She was very informative and a joy to be with. The glow worms were spectacular and the Hobbiton was really impressive and the included ale at the end wasn't bad either. There was just my wife and I on the tour Susan took care of everything and kept us on time. I would book tours with them again. Just as advertised.

    Great Day with Peter
We arrived the end of January on a cruise ship stop. Peter was waiting as we exited the dock. His vehicle was very nice & clean. There was a group of four and we wanted to see Auckland and the vicinity. We stopped at a very lovely & interesting botanical garden. Since we were on a ship, we wanted to stop for souvenirs. Peter found souvenir shops near where we were to visit. Our two male guests were having McDonald withdrawal, so Peter stopped and waited for us to go have a snack at McDonalds. We then visited a winery and had lunch. The wine in New Zealand was great and lunch was excellent. I travel with a small scooter and it was very easy getting in and out of Peter’s vehicle. Would not hesitate to recommend this tour. EXCELLENT

Day Tour of Western Auckland - GREAT Value!
This is an excellent tour of the (mostly) Western Auckland area. We were picked up at our hotel and the day provided an amazing range of sites: from the breathtaking views at the top of the Waitakere Ranges, to the beautiful black sand beach at Muriwai. Along the way we had a winetasting and lunch (all included in tour price). On our day we saw One Tree Hill and The Wintergarden at Auckland Domain (make sure to visit the Fernery!) Our guide Peter was fantastic. If you have a free day, this is a must do!

    Great tour guide
We ended out 22 day cruise in Auckland. I needed someone to show us around for two days then take us to the airport. I found and book these tours while still on the ship kind of last minute. This filled our our needs. We took the sheep tour and the wilderness tour. I enjoyed both. He was late picking us up at the port because of traffic but kept us up on his progress (this was the ports fault to small for the large ship). He was very accommodating to our needs. I would recommend coast to coast to anyone wanting to see Auckland.

    Great Host
Peter picked us up at 6:30 am for our trip to Waitomo and Hobbiton. He was prompt and friendly- very comfortable for the 5 of us immediately. Stopped at McDs for a restroom break (and coffee to wake up!) and off to Waitomo caves. Lunch at the Waitomo caves and on to Hobbiton. Peter was an informative guide and shared information about New Zealand throughout the trip. We had some good laughs and learned a lot from him. He is good at his job and seems to truly enjoy being with visitors. Thankful for Peter's kindness in giving my daughter a ride back to her host home in Swanson vs. having her take the hour train ride back from Auckland. Peter didn't have to do that- rather volunteered as it was about 15 minutes out of his way. *Thank you Peter! If you are considering a tour while in town would highly recommend Peter's tour to Hobbiton and the glow worm caves. You will be safe, comfortable, and learn a great deal about this beautiful country.

The sheep sheering country tour was excellent. Peter was a kind thoughtful courteous guide. Fortunately for us we were the only two on our tour that day. Peter was informative and answered all of our questions. We totally enjoyed the day. We made many stops and the lunch at the winery was very good. A very pleasant experience that we would repeat and recommend to everyone. New Zealand is a beautiful country. We enjoyed our visit.

    Amazing West Auckland Countryside Experience
Peter. Thank you so much for a wonderful tour. You made us feel welcomed and comfortable right from the start of our tour. Tammie and I were fortunate to have you all to ourselves. The only words I can find to describe our time with you is: Amazing, Awesome, Wonderful, Informative, Educational, and Delightful. Your passion for your customer and your country is commendable. It shows in your smile and your professionalism. I recommend this and any other adventure Coast to Coast Tours offer. Thanks again. P.S. We can still envision the ganetts and taste the wine from the Soljan's Winery. We will be back!

Private tour with Coast2coast Tours in Auckland, NZ
My husband and I recently traveled to NZ for a week. Not only did we fall in love with NZ, we fell in love with PeterEngelbrecht with Coast2coast Tours. The tremendous beauty of the natural setting combined with the knowledge and expertise of Peter, our guide, made for an unforgettable adventure!!!!! Peter was articulate, knowledgeable, organized, fun, and very attentive. He tailored our tour to suit us. We were able to see so much of Auckland and the surrounding areas. We saw the Hobbiton set,Te Anaya Glow Worm Caves, the gondola and luge rides, wine tasting, a sheep shearing farm, Waiheke Island, Rotorua, cultural events, Harbor Bridge, ,exquisite restaurants such as the Sky Tower (as well as local favorites). We went to Marwari beach, had a Manuka Honey Tasting, went to a Saw Mill Brewery, a geo thermal experience. We also went to the French Market in Parnell as well as some local markets. We went to the beautiful Botanical Gardens and other gardens. Peter left no stone uncovered!!!!! He picked us up at the airport. He allowed time for us to shop. He even emailed us photos of our adventures!!!!! The tremendous beauty of the natural beauty of NZ combined with the knowledge and expertise of Peter made for an unforgettable adventure!!!!! We will never forget this trip with Peter from Coast2coast Tours!!!!!

    Excellent tours from Auckland
We were fortunate enough to take two trips with Coast to Coast Tours. The Glow Worm/Hobbiton and the sheep farm/wine/cheese/beach. This is an owner-driver minivan and it turned out we were the only two passengers. After two days we felt as though PJ was more like a very knowledgeable close relative showing us the glories of New Zealand. Hobbiton is a can't miss location and the sheep show is the very best. Feeding a 3 day old lamb and then getting to cuddle it. You might get some of the stops on other tours but you won't have PJ picking up on your preferences. In our case customizing the tour to take in the wonderful greenhouses in the Auckland Domain and emailing us a bunch of photos he took throughout the trips. No pressure for time nor gift shop purchasing, every stop well worked out, cannot recommend Coast to Coast highly enough. We hope to have this type of tour at every city/country that we travel to.

    ❤❤❤
We took a private tour with Peter for 3 days and 2 nights to Waitomo, Hobbiton, Te Puia, Huka Falls and Taupo. We also took the wilderness day tour a few days after we got back to Auckland. It was VIP treatment all the way for me, my husband and our two children. Peter was very kind and accommodating. He was thoughtful and very considerate of everyone's needs. For the long trips, he made sure to prepare drinks and snacks for the kids. He even brought videos for them to watch. The tour was very flexible and unhurried. The kids were able to take their time and explore whatever it was that caught their attention. He took notice of what the kids liked and suggested restaurants and stops that would be enjoyable for them, such as Rainbow Springs and the Kiwi Valley Farm. Peter was exactly the kind of guide my family needed. We all came home very satisfied, with loads of very happy memories. Thanks for an awesome trip. God bless.

    Outstanding!!
My husband and I were fortunate to spend 2 days touring NZ with Peter...such a wonderful, memorable 2 days. It was most impromptu, with Peter assembling tours for us at the last minute. Our tours were so fabulous that I wonder what he could have put together for us had he been given more than 4 days. Wine tasting, trips to the beaches and botanical gardens, the honey hive and fabulous lunches were interspersed between knowledgeable and interesting narrative. Peter is most gracious, thoughtful and considerate of his guests. I highly recommend "Coast to Coast" tours and Peter, and I would not hesitate to tour with him again!

Interesting tour of Auckland with wine tasting
Peter met us at the cruise port in Auckland for our afternoon tour. We started off with Peter pointing out various areas of interest in the city and dropping us to view the botanic gardens, which were beautiful. It was then out of the city to Muriwai Beach to view the gannet colony and the excellent scenery of the area. All the time he gave us a commentary of places of interest, history of the area and info about himself. It was then to Soljans winery for wine tasting. Peter was flexible enough to ask us what we then wanted to do and gave us a couple of options. We opted for another winery visit and this was duly provided at Hunting Lodge winery. Auckland has much more to offer than just a beautiful city, this excellent tour showed a lot of it.

    Highlight of my NZ trip
I was drawn to Coast to Coast initially because of Peter's responsiveness to my email inquiries. My mom and I booked two tours with Peter during our stay in New Zealand, the Sheep World tour and the Hobbiton movie set tour. Peter is incredibly thoughtful, personable and professional. We are particularly pleased that he tailored the itinerary to our preferences. For example, knowing that we are light drinkers and cheese fanatics, he omitted the second winery checkpoint and took us to a Puhoi Valley store where we found some of the best cheeses in town! We had a blast in Auckland and this is attributed largely to Peter's amazing tours. We wish him continued success in the future!

Peter customized this tour for us by picking us up at the airport upon our arrival. Peter demonstrated extreme flexibility when our flight departed and arrived late. We communicated via WhatsApp prior to our departure and he simply had us text him when we arrived.

Peter knows the area and offers many insights. We had a wonderful experience meeting real people in an agrarian setting. Definitely will contact Peter at Coast to Coast Tours again if we return to Auckland.

We took a delightful tour with guide Peter. It was a lovely drive through countryside North and West of Auckland plenty of delightful stops. The sheep farm show was very interesting and the children present were mesmerised by the display, very unusual these days. Peter organised a great lunch after a power cut affected our original plan.

Sheep World was a delightful afternoon visiting the friendly, cute animals. Even when it was pouring rain, the hosts were helpful and we got to bottle feed baby sheep. Be sure and ask about the Huntaway dog!! I had never heard of such and he is really cute. Lunch was good, even vegetarian options for my granddaughter. Small but nice gift shop with quality items...I have a very cute winter hat with a sheep on it from there and my granddaughter bought family gifts. Enjoy, worth the drive.

We had the BEST day out with our guide Peter.
Although we were his only passengers he gave us the full tourist treatment.
Peter planned and suggested a day out to suit our needs. We were treated to honey, cheese and wine tasting as we made our way around the countryside to the Sheep and Dog show. We were given the most entertaining display of working with the sheep including the dogs interacting throughout.
I really loved being able to try my hand at shearing a sheep and then feeding the lambs with bottles.
We highly recommend Peter and his tours that will take you wherever you may want to go in New Zealand. Margaret & Bill Wood Hervey Bay, Qld

Enjoyed the demonstration. Loved feeding the lamb their bottle! John and his dogs add a little humor to the demo. Plus there are many other animals you can feed.

Had lunch there at cafe, was delicious. Don’t forget you can also add the gift shop to your trip.

We wanted an activity to keep us up and going following 15 hours on a plane and arriving in Auckland at 5:00am in the morning. Driver was late to pick us up at 9am, and then came in a van too small for the group. Her "plan" was to squeeze everyone in somehow, and then swap out the van for a larger vehicle somewhere along our tour route. The scheduled afternoon wine tasting was swapped to 10am due to this change in route. Finally arrived at Sheep World and DID enjoy the herding and shearing demonstration. We were then taken to another winery for a tasting, only to discover the winery was closed. My recommendation would be to hire a cab or driver and do Sheep World on your own.

Greetings Thank you for your insightful review. We will endeavour never to make an honest mistake like this again. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused, one bad review out of 300 is never good. However there are just a few points we have to mention after your tour that day which I need say. Firstly all our tours start at 9am, our driver arrived there at 8:55. Secondly, after you mentioned all that went bad on the day you some how forgot to mention the driver/ guide going “The extra mile” by purchasing each member of your group a bottle of wine by a world renowned wine maker with compliments of Coast To Coast Tours and giving you a top notch lunch at an upmarket café, as opposed to a sandwich and a beverage. I could elaborate about the other stops you forgot to mention but this would be in bad taste as we pride ourselves in being professional. We are deeply saddened by this review but we will take the critique seriously and strive to improve our service. Many thanks

We couldn’t have had a better day! We had used a different tour company the day before for Hobbiton and the caves and sure wish we had known enough to use coast to coast. It isn’t that the other company was bad, it was that coast to coast was better by far. The difference for us was the comfort of the vehicle and the size of the group. For sheep world there were just the two of us!! We had a private tour, which gave us the flexibility to stay as long as we would like at each place and to choose stops that suited our interests. I can’t say enough, book with them and you won’t be sorry

We wanted to see the sheep and some animals on our first day in Auckland not only for the kid but also for a relaxing day. Our host Peter did provide what we wanted and took us to some quiet beach in the morning and also see the most famous Kauri tree and singing birds on the way to the Sheep World, which is a pleasant surprise. If you are looking for a comfortable and relaxing family tour around Auckland, Peter's thoughtfulness and well planned tour is a great choice.
