          Marvelous Muriwai!
Our guide Alan was excellent and definitely knowledgeable about all the areas we visited around Aukland on the wine tour. The highlight for us was visiting Muriel’s, and we were happy that Alan let us enjoy so much time at the beach . Wineries also well chosen and each different from the other. Overall, outstanding day in every way! Cheers, Nancy and Trevor Kerr

          Great tour.
We had an excellent time. Tasted some good wine and wineries then headed off to see the gannet colony up close. We stopped at the last winery and enjoyed their wine and their DELICIOUS pizza! Josie was a fun, interesting guide.

Auckland city and western countryside tour
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this full day tour on Oct 22 and consider it good value for the price. Allan, the driver and tour guide, greeted us and another couple at the cruise port in Auckland. First up was the city tour. Our first stop was on the eastern hilltop to visit the MJ Savage Memorial Park with gardens and a panoramic view over the harbour. Then passing along the waterfront we headed to the neoclassical War Memorial Museum situated on a hill which is a dormant volcano. We drove around the impressive property and noted the names of all the major battles inscribed on the walls. Next we stopped at the Winter Gardens, 2 historical greenhouses that showcase rare and wonderful plants and flowers. A fernery is located in the rear and there is a reflecting pool and sculptures. Then we got into the minivan and headed to west Auckland countryside. As we drove along, Allan explained the neighborhoods, districts, businesses, land features and answered our questions. After an hour we arrived at the summit of the mountain and got a fantastic view of the Auckland harbour and area. There was the visitor centre with a Māori totem with carved tikis, which we visited. It had information about the flora and fauna of the area and a gift shop. Then we headed to Muriwai, a half hour away, passing through forested areas. At Muriwai, Allan parked the minivan by the ocean side of the road, high on the cliff to give us a good view to the gannets roosting on the nearby promontory and offshore island. Then we drove down to walk onto the black sand beach, so fine grained and chiefly comprised of iron grains washed up from the sea floor. Then Allan took us to a lovely winery for lunch, West Brook Winery where the 5 of us shared 4 different pizzas. They were delicious. My husband and I had diet ginger beer which was great and the other couple ordered a set of 3 glass wine tasting. Then Allan drove us back to the ship via another route and over the bay bridge, all the while continuing to explain sites and scenery. What a perfect day. I would recommend this company and this tour. Allan was a great driver and guide.

          Awesome Auckland
Peter, with Coast to Coast Tours was fantastic. Communication was great throughout the process. I booked a tour/shore excursion for 18 people. The timing of our ship's arrival kept changing. Peter was patient and accomodating. We had a wonderful day and went to a Manuka honey place, black sand beach, and Sheep World. We had delicious fish and chips at a beautiful park with a 300 year old tree . We even stopped for Hokey Pokey ice cream. Our driver was super nice and I feel bad that I cannot remember his name. I highly recommend Coast to Coast.

          A must-do for wine aficionados!
A great day visiting wineries, sampling new wines, and learning about the history of wine in the region. Susan provided great insights and even some bonus anecdotes about the Rings of Power filming nearby!

          Tasty, Informative, & FUN!👌🏼🍷
Peter was fabulous, and made this wine tour day so enjoyable for our group! The wineries we visited were terrific, and the lunch included in the price was a divine charcuterie platter that paired perfectly with the wines. Thank you, Peter, for a delightful and informative day in Kumeu!👏🏻👌🏼🤩🍷 Donna & David B-K

          Wine tour in Kumeu River.
The tour was great. Our tour guide very knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. When I booked this tour I booked it specifically because we were to visit Kumeū River Winery. Our tickets confirmed this. However we did not stop there. According to our guide he has never stopped there. The tour company should stop stating that they stop there. Despite that it was an excellent tour.

          Absolutely Fantastic!!! A must do!!
This was absolutely the best tour! Peter (operator) selected 3 awesome wineries, all different, which made for a great experience! Lunch at the last one was fabulous and the scenery gorgeous! We also enjoyed the sights of the countryside, the incredible shoreline and black sand beach! The day could not have been better! Thank you, Peter!!!

          Wonderful Experience
We had a private tour with Josey and it was wonderful! The wineries were great, especially Soljans. We learned about the family history at the vineyard. The drive through the area and to the beach was beautiful. This is well worth the experience!

          West Auckland wine tour
We had an excellent tour of three of the wineries of West Auckland and a trip out to the black sand beach at Muriwai. This was an area of Auckland we hadn't been to for over 15 years. Our host, Jose, was an excellent tour guide and able to provide plenty of information of how the area had developed over that time. There were only the two of us on the tour so it could quite easily have been cancelled, but, as it wasn't, we were able to tweak a couple of parts of the tour so it became a very personalised trip for us both.

          Great ending to our cruise
My wife and I were picked up at the cruise terminal by PJ and given an excellent private tour of the Auckland area including the Fernery, Soljans Estate for lunch and wine tasting, and along the beautiful coastline and the Gannet sanctuary before dropping us at the airport for our flight home. PJ was personable and knowledgeable and provided us with an excellent day in Auckland.

          Very Enjoyable Day
Susan picked my wife and I up at the cruise ship terminal. She was very friendly, attentive to our needs, interesting to talk to, an excellent driver and informative during our trip. The Waitomo Glow Worm Cave is unique and worth seeing but no photos are permitted. Hobbiton exceeded our expectations. Susan handled all the details including pit stops.

          glow worms and Hobbits
We had a great time. Susan was our host. She was very informative and a joy to be with. The glow worms were spectacular and the Hobbiton was really impressive and the included ale at the end wasn't bad either. There was just my wife and I on the tour Susan took care of everything and kept us on time. I would book tours with them again. Just as advertised.

          Great Day with Peter
We arrived the end of January on a cruise ship stop. Peter was waiting as we exited the dock. His vehicle was very nice & clean. There was a group of four and we wanted to see Auckland and the vicinity. We stopped at a very lovely & interesting botanical garden. Since we were on a ship, we wanted to stop for souvenirs. Peter found souvenir shops near where we were to visit. Our two male guests were having McDonald withdrawal, so Peter stopped and waited for us to go have a snack at McDonalds. We then visited a winery and had lunch. The wine in New Zealand was great and lunch was excellent. I travel with a small scooter and it was very easy getting in and out of Peter’s vehicle. Would not hesitate to recommend this tour. EXCELLENT

My husband and I took this amazing tour with Peter as our tour guide. This is the very best tour I have ever been on. Peter was amazing with all the information he gave us as we were exploring the city and country side around Auckland. Sheep World was so interesting and the lady who shore the sheep was really wonderful at her job. She explained the process as she sheared the sheep. She also let us ask questions and interacted with the audience. It was great and feeding the animals was really fun. Peter also took us to Honey Centre and we saw the bees in a wall that was their comb. Their honey is double sealed so we could buy it and take it on the plane. It was very interesting. Peter took us to lunch and it was very delicious. He took us to places that I'm sure a lot of guides wouldn't have. He is a very kind man and his manners are implacable. It was a delightful day and touring the city was very interesting also. I can't say enough about how well were treated and respected. If you want an exciting, relaxing tour this is the one for you. I would have given this tour a ten if there had been a score that high. I met a man from Los Angeles in Sydney and he was traveling to Auckland next. I suggested that he take this tour and I hope he did.

Kia Ora! My best friend along with our husbands celebrated our birthdays and enjoyed the Sheep World Country Tour. Our tour guide/operator, Peter was so gracious and accommodating throughout our tour. Driving through the country side was so serene that it melted all our stresses away. Our first stop at the Honey Centre was fascinating. Never knew so many products can be made out of honey with great health benefits! We bought jars for all our family members. Next stop was at Sheep World. We loved feeding the various animals and found the sheep dogs and sheep shearing show very educational. Knowing that our contributions also helps with supporting young people made it so much more meaningful. Our tour took us to a chocolate shop, beautiful beaches and we also took a stroll to a park to see the Kauri trees. Throughout the tour, Peter was very knowledgeable and informative.
This experience will always be a memorable one for me. Peter, thank you so much for your hospitality. P.S. the lion tamer.... lol!

Kia Ora Lion Tamer That was one awesome review, I’m still blushing. Thank you for the kind words of our Sheep Tour and the organisation that runs it Springboard. It’s an amazing organisation helping young people. I’m so glad I was able to show the husbands and you some beauty of our beaches and surrounds. Travel safe and thank you again. Many thanks Peter

My dad & I had a private tour with Peter. We visited a beautiful beach spot, the honey center, and Sheepworld. We got to sample local honey and alcohol products using honey, and we ate a very good lunch at Sheepworld. We also stopped to see an 900-year-old massive Kauri tree. On the way back into Auckland, Peter insisted we had to try two Kiwi favorites - hokey pokey ice cream and Goody Goody gum drop ice cream. I strongly recommend the hokey pokey ice cream.

It was great to chat with him about his life and living in New Zealand. I’m happy we got out of the city center to also get to see where people actually live. Plus, I am a huge animal lover, so getting to see the sheep and cows and alpacas and pigs and emu was a delight.

We came in via cruise and decided the shore excursions offered by the cruise line sounded boring. I’m glad we got to have a small personal experience with a really great guy.

I highly recommend taking any tour with Coast to Coast, especially with Peter!

We had a great day with Jose "yo-say" (took me a while to get that right). Sheepworld was not only a sheep dog and shearing show, but had a substantial animal farm full of friendly critters to feed. Jose also took us to some scenic lookouts, a Kauri (NZ tree) park walk and a wonderful lunch cafe near a local potter's workshop and showroom.

We had a wonderful trip travelling with the “Coast to Coast Tour Limited” today. Mr. Allan was a very cautious driver to drive carefully on the road although the weather was a bit foggy and the view was a bit misty on the road. We enjoyed feeding all kinds of animals such as the roaster, the hens, the sheep, the rabbits and the deers when we reached the farm. And we had a good walk in the forestry park seeing the 600 years old Kauri Tree. The walk was certainly helpful in our digestion after having a heavy lunch of chicken burger with chips. And we had seen a very good scenario along the seaside and the waterfront and there were many yachts parking at the harbour of Auckland. It was a pleasant journey travelling with the “Coast to Coast Tour Limited” together with Mr. Allan who was very good in introducing and explaining to us the interesting places that we had visited.

It was a rainy day so everyone else on the tour canceled but me. Instead of canceling the the entire tour for the day they still did the tour with only myself. The farm was great with very friendly animals and people. The winery was beautiful even on a rainy day. I had a lot of one on one time with the tour guide who was very friendly and gave me a lot of advice on where to visit on my trip to Auckland and Wellington. Definitely recommend this tour!

Peter customized this tour for us by picking us up at the airport upon our arrival. Peter demonstrated extreme flexibility when our flight departed and arrived late. We communicated via WhatsApp prior to our departure and he simply had us text him when we arrived.

Peter knows the area and offers many insights. We had a wonderful experience meeting real people in an agrarian setting. Definitely will contact Peter at Coast to Coast Tours again if we return to Auckland.

We took a delightful tour with guide Peter. It was a lovely drive through countryside North and West of Auckland plenty of delightful stops. The sheep farm show was very interesting and the children present were mesmerised by the display, very unusual these days. Peter organised a great lunch after a power cut affected our original plan.

Highly recommended! This is by far the best tour I have ever been on. Jose is an excellent guide, who made all of us feel so at home. Knowledgeable, friendly and with a great sense of humour (talk cock haha)! Lawrence
