        Hobbiton Tour
The experience was fantastic. We knew where to meet and was updated of any changes. Our guide, Aiman was amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us so much about New Zealand. He also took us to this great little berries farm with fresh ice cream post Hobbiton. If you book with tbia company for any tour, I hope you get Aiman.

Waiotapu Caves Tour - traveling with Raymond
Today, my teenage kids and I went on a tour to the stunning Glow Worms at the Waitomo Caves, and I can't recommend it enough! Our travel to guide, Raymond, truly made the journey getting there and back smooth . He was lovely, considerate, and genuinely caring, especially when he learned that I got car sick. The caves themselves were nothing short of magical, with the sparkling glow worms illuminating the darkness like a starry night sky. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enchanting experience!

        Worth the trip!
What a beautiful place! As others have said, this is a long day from Auckland but so worth it. The cruise is beautiful, and stopping off to explore the islands with a little hiking was wonderful. Martin was kind, thoughtful, and informative as a guide and worked hard to make sure everyone in my small group (just 5 people) had a great day.

Wonderful day riding horses, walking about and enjoying art!
We spent a lovely day on the countryside around Auckland riding horses, tasting wine, enjoying a lovely lunch at a winery, doing an art walk, and stopping to marvel at the spectacular scenery. Our guide/driver David was just marvelous. My husband tweaked his hip earlier in our trip and so he elected to skip the horseback riding. Not one to let the time pass idly, David took my husband about on a lovely drive. He made other tweaks and adjusts to our trip that helped make it just a fantastic day, notwithstanding my husband’s mobility issues. Couldn’t recommend Auckland & Beyond and David highly enough. We used A&B for other tours and they were all equally perfectly planned and executed. Great and timely communication.

Our tour was titled “Auckland City Discovery”. We were met on time by an amazing gentleman, Warren, who made our whole day special, memorable and most of all, Fun! I can’t even begin to remember his in depth descriptions of Auckland’s history, its culture (including many references to the Māori language), uand the people of New Zealand. We were 2 of 6 passengers in a most comfortable van that Warren handled with ease. He effortlessly zipped us around Auckland and would change course if anyone came up with a personal request. We will remain ever grateful for Auckland Beyond Tours for providing us with an amazing tour guide, Warren. He admitted he’s not their best guide, but we don’t believe him. Ask for Warren!

        Very informative & educative tour
We went on a half day tour of Auckland today (06/02/2025) with our tour guide cum driver Warren. Warren was a jovial, friendly & knowledgeable person who never tried to hurry us up anywhere. I couldn't detect any trace of racial overtone in his narration of New Zealand's history. We were taken to a war memorial followed by rose 🌹 garden. We then went to the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial where Warren told us about the Waitangi Treaty, it's breach, the Maoris moving the Supreme Court, the court deciding in their favour, the government giving them compensation etc. We then moved to Achilles point. On way, he showed us a busy beach ⛱️ & prime residential area on the other side. The tour ended with a visit to a dormant volcano 🌋. Instead of the slated 3 hours, we returned after 4 hours of a thoroughly enjoyable & memorable trip. The weather fortunately was exceptionally good. We were also served snacks & water towards the end. Thanks Warren. Thanks "Auckland & Beyond Tours".

        Very Happy With This Tour
We had wonderful time on this tour. Both places are well worthwhile seeing. Small group made travel easier. Our tour guide Adil was great, educated us on NZ history and culture, gave enough information about the places we would visit without diminishing the surprise element. He also added a few other quick stops that were fun.

Wonderful day at Hobbiton with a spectacular evening feast to boot!
Our driver Raymond was prompt in picking us up, had waters for us along the ride, and was a wealth in of information about all things New Zealand. We arrived to Hobbiton with plenty of time to look at the souvenir shop, grab a coffee and ice cream cone, and then head out on the tour of the Shire. My husband tweaked his hip as we were on our way to this trip and it has caused some mobility issues for him. I wrote to A&B and they were able to organize a golf cart to take us around in and it saved the day for us. The feast at Hobbiton, holy Moses!! It was absolutely terrific, and beautiful. I didn’t exactly have high hopes and didn’t really know what to expect, but it’s a very Hobbit worthy feast for sure. Was so pleasantly surprised by that. In all, it was a magical evening, and A&B and Raymond really helped make everything easy peasy on our end. So grateful for this special tour.

From our pick up and transport driver John to our delightful tour guide for Hobbiton, we thoroughly enjoyed our day! The lush hills of the shire are kept in pristine condition. Beautiful feel while wandering the paths of Hobbiton.

Lord of the Rings and Hobbits…Need I Say More?!
New Zealand is a stunning country and this tour really highlights that fact! The ride to the movie set is long, but the sheer beauty of the journey is amazing - so lush and green! Due to the weather that morning, there were even places that looked like Mordor! If you’re a fan of the movies, this is a MUST DO activity! Seeing The Shire up close is a dream come true, even 20 years after the movies came out! The attention to detail is perfect and truly makes you forget where you are! Did I mention the absolute gorgeous countryside?! The were times I would be looking around The Shire and I had to ask if what I was seeing was real - it looks like a painting! At the end of the tour (and coinincidently, where the last scene of the movie was filmed) you get to go INSIDE one of the houses! I was jumping up and down giddy with excitement! BEST PART OF THE TOUR! It was so fun exploring the house and being a Hobbit for 30 mins or so! And you get to have a free drink at The Green Dragon - I opted for the hard cider and it was delicious. I also had a lamb and rosemary meat pie at the bakery before the tour - I don’t think I’ve ever had a meat pie, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, although it was highly recommended. It was phenomenal, so flavorful and the pie itself flaky, soft, and hot - it was the perfect start to the day! The weather was perfect on the day of my tour, having rained a bit beforehand on the ride up (but not enough to make it muddy). It wasn’t too chilly, cooler at the start (a light jacket was welcomed), but the sun eventually came out and warmed it up as the tour continued (no jacket necessary, but not sweltering either). However, be sure to bring and apply sunscreen (there’s not much shade). I can’t adequately articulate how much I loved this tour! EVERYTHING ABOUT THE TOUR IS AMAZING and it’s worth every penny! Oh! I almost forgot there’s another part of the package 😂 You go to Waitomo and visit the caves and see the glow worms. This is the shortest part of the tour, but I was appreciative because, although it was one of my FAVORITE days, it was long and I was getting tired. The cave tour is just enough for you to enjoy it, but not get bored. The best part is either the song in the caves (our tour guide almost brought us to tears with his voice) or the boat ride in the dark with the glow worms twinkling above.

Lots of great opportunities for photos. Food was not provided by the company, but we got there early enough to enjoy the cafe, and some snacks (muffins etc) are available for purchase at the Green Dragon Inn. The food was also way better than expected! (Highly recommend the caramel slice from the cafe.) We were told that there will be an immersive indoor experience of Sam’s Hobbit Hole starting in Dec 2023, so you may want to wait to see that. However, because it was under construction, we were gifted some Green Dragon drinking mugs. Our driver David was also great, and we even stopped for ice cream on the way back!

Thank you for the great feedback. We love to share the beauty of our countryside during the trip and allow you plenty of time for photo taking throughout the tour. We provide complementary water and snacks plus the opportunity for you to buy lunch and hot beverages at the destinations. I'm glad that you enjoyed the free gift and the ice cream stop. Hope to see you again soon on another adventure.

We booked a tour through Auckland and Beyond Tours, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the time we were picked up by Paul, he shared the history of Auckland and some trivias. He was assisting us from the start until the end of the trip and he was very friendly. The Hobbiton left me with unforgettable memories. Whether you're a die-hard fan of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films or simply appreciate breathtaking scenery and immersive experiences, this tour is an absolute must-do.

Amazing journey! I only had 1 day of leisure during my business trip and wanted to go there. Easy booking on the website. Prior to the tour, the company was very responsive every time I had a question by email. The pick up occurred close to my hotel in CBD Auckland. Our guide Peter spent time on the way to Hobbiton in to give facts on New Zealand, and the small group organization gives good flexibility. I will definitely call them back for other tours when I’ll come back to NZ!

We used the service with the pick up and drop off from Auckland - which was about a 2 hour drive. Our driver Mr. Adil was so kind and informative. He knows a lot about New Zealand and Hobbiton. The tour around Hobbiton is about an hour and a half. Our tour guide was Mr. Yean. He was great. Gave us lots of information about the history of Hobbiton, gave us plenty of time of questions and pictures. It was a wonderful experience.

We have been planning this family trip to visit New Zealand for quite some time. We’d spend some time in Australia, then cruise through New Zealand, stopping into different ports with one of the highlights being a trip to visit Hobbiton. Our hearts were broken when the ship wasn’t able to port, and we thought we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the experience. But, on the day that we were scheduled to fly out, we were able to book a shuttle that would be able to make that happen for us!

Before the crack of dawn, Warren our amazing, polite, and very knowledgeable guide was there with a big smile!

He was respectful, very informative, safe and more than generous. He represented the business, himself, and the country well! We love what you all stand for!

Hobbiton itself, is a breathtaking experience and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Thank you for helping to end our beautiful vacation on a high note!

Was picked up and provided with a bottle water. The drive was nice, in a comfy and clean van, with a stop on the way to enjoy snacks at a scenic viewpoint. Arrived at Hobbiton with time to purchase a drink or food from the cafe before the tour. The Hobbiton set was beautiful and the tour was fun and informative with lots of photo opportunities and ended with time to enjoy a complimentary drink at the green dragon. The drive back to Auckland was also not bad and there was a stop on the way to get food or use the bathroom.

My tour guide peter is a very experienced, responsible and patient expert. Hobbiton is also an incredible place, with a particularly high degree of restoration. The fellow tourists are also very interesting, which made me feel great when I participated in the non-Chinese speaking tour for the first time.

A magical morning ensued when our driver, Chris, who fetched us from our hotel bright, early and enthusiastically in the morning.

It was a long, scenic, 2 hour or so drive from Auckland. Chris gave us a rundown of facts on the history, culture, flora, fauna and topography during the drive.

I can't say much about Hobbiton as there aren't many words in my vocabulary to describe the beauty of the place. I do advise you to go and see it for yourself.
      An excellent experience.

      Thank you, Chris.

Had a booking with Angelo, who drove us from Auckland to the movie site. He was very informative and gave the group a good insight into many of the landmarks along the way.

The tour itself of Hobbiton was great. The weather was very overcast with light rain, but still it was worth it. Made for some great moody photos with each hobbit hole. Don’t let bad weather put you off. Umbrellas provided at the tour site.

The 2hour journey from Auckland by minivan was comfortable and our guide, Amy, was very personable and informative. The Hobbiton tour was great. We'll run with very pleasant staff. The setting was unbelievable - it really is right in a farm. An oasis of lush green grass and gardens and of course many Hobbit holes. It really is a village. Our return journey back to Auckland was with Peter H, who was friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating.
