    For a view of Auckland
This tower gives you great views of Auckland. It has several information stations which give more info. We found the price is a bit high for what you get but not crazy. They do offer child, adult and senior rates. It wasn't busy when we were there so no line-ups.

A bargain way to see the tower - read this and you will thank me
We didn’t pay to go up to the observation deck as we were told by locals if you go to the bar ( reservation recommended ) and buy a drink then the visit is free. AND THEY WERE CORRECT . Open from 3 pm we went to the entrance , up to the bar and had a perfect window seat. Only one floor below the observation deck you have to pay for. The cheapest drink is $11 but we had a beer and a cocktail and then a second beer and a coffee . Even so the view is only one deck below and ceiling to floor windows so more or less the same view, The staff were great who served us. We were able to walk around the full 360 view, take photographs etc and stayed for over an hour. An added bonus as we had to take the car in due to the trains not running in January was that we parked in the sky tower car park and had our parking validated for 50% discount. So another bargain as we parked all day and went to the marinas and other attractions,

    🕵🏻 tower
"The Auckland Sky Towers are a prominent tourist attraction in Auckland, renowned for their impressive height and distinctive design. Although they do not serve as cultural or historical landmarks, they play a significant role in telecommunications and technology for New Zealanders. The towers are not only a symbol of modern innovation but also offer breathtaking views of the city and its surroundings. For the adventure community, the Sky Tower has become a unique focal point, serving as a giant compass that guides both locals and visitors in exploring the vibrant cityscape. The experience of visiting the Sky Tower combines technology with thrilling economic activities 😄

The Magic Men Australia show 💕💕
We had fun there at the skycity theatre watching the magic men Australia. It was worth it. We ended up at the casino restaurant for some good food and drinks. Flare bar was lit, too. I'm loving it there.

High tea in the Sky Bar was fantastic!
We were delighted with the afternoon tea that included the viewing deck admission and a wonderful experience. Our table was prepaid and reserved in an optimal window location. I am not able to eat fish and they do not make substitutions on the set menu so I ordered the vegetarian option and it was delightful. The entire staff explains your tea, your food items and cannot help you enough. I would recommend this to everyone except young children.

    Sky Tower.
Sky Tower is the second tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere and is situated on Federal Street in Auckland CBD.It is 328 metres (1,076 ft) tall, as measured from ground level to the top of the mast and till 2022 was the tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere. The upper portion of the tower contains two restaurants and a cafe, including New Zealand's only revolving restaurant, located 190 m (620 ft) from the ground, which turns 360 degrees every hour. The tower is part of the SkyCity Auckland casino complex, a unbelievable large casino .At night the Sky Tower is illuminated.

    Nice sculpture
Only went into the casino, personally didn't feel it was worth the cost of admission to see the views, but enjoyed watching the bungy jumpers coming down, also a steep price. If you can afford it go for it. An easy couple blocks walk from cruise port

A "must do" activity when hopefully it's not too busy
It is fairly obvious that the views from the observation deck are amazing and well worth the trip up. When we went, it wasn't too busy, so the queue for the first lift was not too long. The queue to go to the higher observation deck was all round the floor - it was probably 20 minutes of waiting in a disorderly queue. At the very top there were far fewer people, probably because of the queue, but the additional height and smaller deck is worth the wait. There is no café to speak of, just a lower deck where deserts with cold or alcoholic drinks were available. This is one of those tick-in-the-box activities that people visiting Auckland should do if possible. However, the queuing on very busy days, notably when a cruise ship is in port, would be very demanding.

    Spectacular views
The whole visit to the tower is is a stunning experience. The ride up in the elevator is exciting, and when you get to the viewing gallery then all the views are simply stunning. On the day of our visit the visibility was great so we were able to see across the whole of the Auckland area.

Go at Sunset, make a Reservation at Skybar.
We went to the Skybar during sunset. Got to enjoy the day and night views. You Must make a reservation or you will not get to the Skybar. It gets crowded at night with lots of young people. We met friends there and had several drinks. Food or dessert did not look interesting. Ladies had the champagne and gents drinks. Expensive, but worth it. We had great seats but I really appreciate the staff not pushing us out after an hour and a half. Also, enjoyed the atmosphere outside the sky Tower during Chinese New Year's. It's a bit confusing where to go. There is a private entrance and elevator to the Skybar. Kudos to Management at the Skybar. There was a very inebriated young lady who came to the bar. Happy to see management would not serve her or her party. They asked her to leave. Considering the shape she was in, great call.

    The views are amazing!
The Sky Tower was a great time! We did the Level 60 sky deck, the Level 51 main observation level and the Sky Slide (closed earlier than the other things, so check times if you go). It was too windy for jumpers, so we missed that part of the experience. It was lovely to see the city from above! It was a little crowded in the tower, but I'm guessing it's that way most of the time! The Sky Tower is also lit up at night on the outside and it is beautiful!

It is big and there is a great view from the top. You had better like glass because there is a lot of it around, including under your feet. General admission allows views from two levels and access to the café, but other attractions suck as the walk, jump and restaurant need extra tickets or reservations.
Let's face it, you have come a long way to get to Auckland, so you had better go up the tower.

Entrance to the tower is by entering the neighboring hotel and taking the escalator downstairs. Admission was $32NZ per person. It was only $4 more to get a pass that let you return within 24 hours for a 2nd visit. We chose this option so as to see the city during the day and again later after dark. There are a number of glass panels in the floor that you can stand on if you can overcome a fear of heights. Views are outstanding, and this is a great way to become familiar with the city and nearby landmarks.

Thank you very much ksufan88, for taking the time to review the SkyTower after your recent visit. It is great to hear that enjoyed the experience and took advantage of our awesome Sun+Stars combo ticket where you can visit twice within 24hrs for an additional $4! Have a fantastic day. The Sky Tower was close to the hotel and we walked up the steep hill and then down the escalator to the ticket desk. Easy to pay and then board a lift up to the viewing platform to admire 360 degree views of the city and outlying islands. There is a TV live feed from the upper level where you can see brave souls gear up and walk out onto the jump platform. You can then watch them fling themselves off and fly by the window. We had a front row seat and watched four jumpers - the first three were enthusiastic and the fourth was doing it just to be part of the experience. His reaction kissing the ground after a safe landing but half way down he relaxed and started to enjoy the jump. A good way to spend an hour and a good gift shop ( inevitably) as you exit.

We purchased 2 general admission tickets thinking that we could catch view from the observation deck and then mossey over to the revolving restaurant for a drink and grab a bite to eat. The observation deck definitely provides a sensation panoramic view of the city. However, we when attempted to take the elevator to the restaurant, we were informed we needed a reservation and separate ticket. NO ONE at the admission counter ever mentioned a thing about this. We went back down to the admission counter thinking we could just pay an addition fee for the revolving restaurant. NOPE .. they explained since we already had gone up to the Sky Tower, we would need to purchase ANOTHER general admission ticket, plus the extra charge for the revolving restaurant admission.
It sure would have been nice if this had been explained to us before we purchased our original general admission tickets!!!

Several levels of the tower are included in the General admission ticket, including one where you can get ice cream. Restaurant levels require reservations in advance - we were unable to get them (too close to holiday season, to late thinking about it). The views are spectacular if the weather is clear, and the 38mm plexiglass floor panels are enough to make your parent's heart jump into your mouth. There are two external event options. Skywalk is a tethered walk on a steel walkway around the tower, and the Skyjump is a tethered rapid decent from the tower to the ground (NOT a bungee jump). We did neither.

While in Auckland, going up the Sky Tower is definitely a worthwhile experience! This is an excellent way to see the city and harbors no other way can show you! The general admission ticket will not only allow you to go to the 51st floor, it gives you access to the 60th floor as well (included in the price). The views are spectacular! There is a restaurant up there on one of the floors, but I did not go. If you're the thrill-seeking type, for more money you can opt to walk on the catwalk or jump from the deck.

Great way to understand the Auckland topography and different locations to visit, distances and get a first orientation of the city.
Entrance fee is reasonable at 32 NZ Dollars with no time limitation.
There are two observation levels, on the 51st floor and on level 60, with 30m difference, the highest being at 220 meters above ground.
There's a restaurant/coffee shop, photo booth to make your extreme selfie and other activities if you are more adventurous like sky walking, obviously with a different fee.
Worth the visit and count on a good hour to enjoy the tower and view.
Parking is at 20+ NZD for a couple of hours.

I bought my ticket online before I left for New Zealand. I purchased the tower ticket only. I learned later that for about the same price, I could have purchased a ticket that included lunch at one of the restaurants in the Sky Tower. So check out your options before you book. To get to the two viewing areas, there are two elevators. The first one takes you to the lower viewing area and a second elevator takes you up to the higher one. Both areas are enclosed in glass which makes taking photos a bit more difficult. But from either area, there are great views of the city and surrounding area of Auckland. I would say it’s a bit pricey but for me, it was the first day in Auckland and it was good to get an “overview” of the city and just get my bearings, so to speak.

It’s difficult to get your bearings in Auckland as it is very flat with few high rises except in the city centre business district so do this to see the lay of the land which is exactly what it does.

General admission will get you to floor 51 where the observation deck is and you get fantastic views across the city and islands as far at Waiheke.

Some famous landmarks to look out for the War museum in Auckland Domain (Demesne where we come from!), MT Eden, One Tree Hill (U2 have a song about it) and Eden Park if you are a rugby fan.

The lift is not the quickest I’ve been in and has a glass floor section if you like looking down!

Some activities to do would be the Skywalk where you can walk externally around the top and you can even get to the ground externally in ropes but not my thing

Just to say we'd been up in the Sky Tower, we headed up. Fortunately, as guests of the Grand, we got a slight discount. Tickets for 2 adults was still $50nzd to just ride up and catch the view. It is a nice view, but worth the $ - eh! We did get some ice cream at the cafe and sat in the perfect spot to watch the jumpers...however, no one jumped in the 30 minutes while we sat there. Of course, as soon as we exited at the bottom, here came someone jumping from the top! I had thought about doing the jump as well, however, they have it priced just high enough I could not see the value.

Definitely an easy thing to do and kill some time while in Auckland...up to you if it is worth the expense!
