We only had two days in Auckland at the end of our trip to NZ and thought this would be a great way to get a good overview of the city in only a few hours. What a fabulous morning we had! The city is very hilly, and the electric bike made those hills a breeze to climb. The tour just consisted of our guide (Carson), me and my husband, so we were able to customize our tour. Since we had already been down on the harborfront the previous night we opted to skip that area and focus on others. We climbed to the top of a volcano and had a magnificent 360* view of the entire Auckland area. Just beautiful! We stopped at several areas along the way for pictures etc and Carson shared a lot of information about the city and was very knowledgeable.
He was very helpful in getting us comfortable on the bikes and then navigating through the city streets. Much of the travel was on bike paths or designated bike lanes, but some was on city streets and shared sidewalks. With the headsets we wore it was easy for Carson to make us aware of hazards and he showed the utmost concern for our safety. We are in our mid 60's, in reasonable physical condition, and found this activity to be very manageable and not too physically demanding.
We highly recommend this tour - it was fabulous!

We had never ridden e bikes before, but after a few simple instructions from Greg it could not have been easier. We were a group of six all of us had riding experience so it was full speed ahead. We started by riding to the top of mount Eden and it was so easy with the powered bikes. Moving around the city was very simple and safe with lots of cycle ways and when you were among traffic there was a feeling of respect from the motorists. We travelled from the fantastic views of mount Eden down to the port and all along the sea front mixing with pedestrians. We were amazed we had travelled a total of 33.9 Km all around the city and didn't feel tied at all. It was brilliant!

Our guide/owner Eddie did a great job with a small group of 3 guests. The 4 of us did the tour on a Monday during mid day so the traffic wasn’t bad. Eddie had a flat tire, but corrected the situation relatively quickly while the 3 guests strolled through an inside greenhouse by the museum. The earpieces worked well for being able to hear interesting information from Eddie while riding.

Thanks for the review. Really enjoyed riding around Auckland with you! Punctures are pretty rare but an easy fix in the end. And you got the bonus of seeing the Domain Wintergardens too while I sorted it out - lucky I managed to ride over that nail eh? :) Hope the rest of your visit went well. Best wishes Eddie

We had a fantastic day with Carson as our guide. The bikes were excellent and Carson was really great at explaining how the electric functions operated. Loved the head pieces so we could hear the commentary and keep in touch while pedaling. This is an excellent way to experience Auckland city. We would highly recommend this company.

Our flight into Auckland arrived at 6:20 am and hotel check in was not until 3:00 pm. We signed up for a bike ride rather than paying for an extra night at the hotel. The hotel was kind enough to store our luggage while we were exploring. Our flight had been delayed a little, so it was somewhat of a scramble to arrive at the meeting place for the bike tour but we made it on time.
Ed greeted us with helmets and sunscreen and securely stored any items that we would not need on the bike ride. We walked down to the garage where the bikes were stored. Bikes were assigned, seats were adjusted, e-bike training was given and test rides were taken before we took off on the ride.
With the e-bikes we could cover a lot of ground. We saw many beautiful sights and Ed was great about taking pictures at each site and providing opportunity for a water break. (water was included.)
The e-bikes were the only way I could have completed this route which included lots of hills and some distance. The only draw back to that is there was some beautiful scenery on the picture taking point but at the pace that we were going it was hard to enjoy it. There were a few ruts in the path and pedestrians to avoid making it important to pay attention to the path and only glance at the scenery. It was still a really great tour and I would highly recommend it but just a little slower pace at the harbor.

Thanks for the review - really appreciated. Great to hear you enjoyed riding your eBike and seeing our beautiful city! eBikes really are the best way to enjoy Auckland, eh? And noted re pace on the waterfront. We do always aim to ride at a leisurely pace, to let our riders soak up the scenery between stops. Looks like we may have been a little bit too enthusiastic that day while we were riding along the waterfront cycleway - just so keen to show you as much of Auckland as possible! :) But very useful feedback, so thanks for that. Hope the rest of your visit was fun too.

This was a fantastic way to see a lot of the city from a different perspective . I have lived in Ak my whole life( that’s 62 years) and found the cycle paths take you off road to many interesting places. The ebikes are of a very high standard and Eddie is a v professional and helpful guide. We covered 30 km and saw a lot in 3 hours. The follow up photos we were sent were great . We will be back to do the night tour next!

What a fantastic review! Great to hear fellow Aucklanders saw their home city from a different perspective. We're constantly discovering new things about the city we love - particularly from the saddle of our eBikes. So it's great to share them - with locals or with visitors! Best wishes, Eddie

I cannot think of a better way to get an overview of a new city while on holiday than with a friendly and talented guide on an E-bike. Think about it: Some exercise; fresh air; great conversation - Power to the Pedal delivers.

I had the opportunity to ride with guide Carson on a beautiful morning in Auckland. I appreciated his attention to safety and his explanation of the Ebike; but more importantly I enjoyed our conversation and his quick sense of humor. He took the time to answer all my questions and served as the photographer for the day 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I cycle often but not much experience on an E bike and now I’m hooked. Actually I’m grateful for the power assist given some of our climbs so we could enjoy the beauty of this incredible city. Seriously - if I can do this ride, I’m almost sure anyone can. Lol

I was a solo traveller on the Classic bike tour. It was a great way to see the Central Business District, Auckland harbour and surrounding area. The guide was super friendly and provided great tips for things to see and do in Auckland (also provided a paper restaurant guide).

The bike was well maintained and the seats were comfortable. Also, the e-bike was super easy and fun to ride.

Definitely a must-do in Auckland.

What a fabulous experience and wonderful way to see Auckland! E-bikes and related equipment were of high quality. Eddie was a great/knowledgeable tour guide, expert instructor for individuals who had never ridden electric bikes, and was very organized. Loved the entire ride. Don’t hesitate to explore Auckland in this manner.

Carson our guide was great. Route was good and weather excellent. The electric bikes did a great job on the hills and there's many. Some days later we rented ebikes for half day to explore some more. Company with a heart. I do recommend this business and this activity to visitors in Auckland. Those looking for the Power to the Pedal office may be surprised to find it inside of the Pullman hotel. Just ask the doormen or reception at the hotel and they'll help you. I went around the block before I figured it out that they've got use of one rooms to the side near reception.

Thanks for the review - much appreciated. Really glad we could help you out with rental bikes, in addition to your tour. Such a wonderful city to ride around, eh? (particularly on an eBike!). And thanks for highlighting that we're located *inside* the Pullman Hotel. Really great place to operate from: the friendly concierge team can help our customers on arrival; the Connectivity Lounge that we operate from is comfortable (and air-conditioned!); and the car park underneath where we keep our eBikes is a nice, safe place for our orientation rides at the start of each tour. And the hotel itself is very centrally located. If any readers of this reply need further info on how to locate us, just head to our website at powertothepedal dot com and click on Find Us. Hope the rest of your travels in beautiful NZ went well! Best wishes, Eddie
