Time Unlimited Tours - Truly Remarkable!
Our day touring the area was a major highlight of our time in New Zealand. The views of Auckland and our visit to Takatunga/Mount Victoria were made special with the commentary provided by our Māori guide, Breviss. We learned so much about Māori history and culture. After a fabulous lunch, we travelled to the west coast and visited the beautiful Piha Beach. One of the most memorable stops on the way back to Auckland was seeing a 1,000 year old kauri tree. It was breathtaking! These are memories we will carry with us forever.

Time Unlimited Tours - The Very Best with Neill
The tour of Waitomo Caves showed off their beautiful columns of stalagmites and stalactites. The colors and shapes were extraordinary. The cave is well known for its glow worms and for good reason - they are quite an unusual sight when the lights are turned off for us to get a good look. As much as we enjoyed the tour, our tour guide for the day, Neill, made the day very memorable. The ride to the caves from Auckland took about an hour and a half. Along the way and after, Neill was a great conversationalist and we enjoyed a wide range of topics. In addition, he stopped on the way back to treat us at his favorite cheese and candy shop and then to a sandwich shop for lunch. Without a doubt, one of our best tours - all due to Neill. We would recommend Neill at Time Unlimited Tours wholeheartedly!!

        Feeling second class
Our first morning in Auckland, we did a City tour, with Tme Unlimited, to get a feel for the City. Although the tour itself was very interesting, and we stopped at several good viewpoints, and were given some excellent information about the city, unfortunately we were only doing half, of what seemed to e a full-day tour for most people. As a result, we felt a bit 'second class', with the guide constantly saying things like, "This afternoon we will be..." We were even told that we had to 'sit at the back of the minibus, as we were only doing the the morning tour'!

ANOTHER GREAT DAY TOUR WITH TIME UNLIMITED AND CURTIS!
We had a lovely day with the personable and professional Curtis as our guide, exploring the Waitekere Ranges before enjoying lunch at a craft brewery and a nice wine tasting in Kumeu Country. Although we weren't able to get to the spectacular gannet colony at Murawai (which we had been fortunate enough to have visited some years ago) because the access road was under repair, Curtis provided a wonderful amended itinerary. He also graciously accommodated our request for a brief stop at Mount Eden on the return journey, putting the icing on the cake! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour (and certainly Curtis!) to anyone.

A FABULOUS FULL DAY WITH A GREAT TOUR GUIDE!
This was an excellent day tour - both sites were absolutely amazing as was the lovely scenery of the North Island. What really made the day, however, was our guide, Curtis, a knowledgeable, charming, and engaging host, as well as a highly skilled driver. Thank you, Curtis, for a wonderful time! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

        A Day of Learning
The full day tour allowed us to sample a broad variety of natural sites (an ancient kauri tree and the black sand beaches of Piha), the city of Auckland (the actively modernizing central business district and the yacht marina), and a distinctive take on the history and politics of New Zealand from a Māori cultural perspective. Breviss Wolfgramm guided us, dealing with the three very diverse couples on our tour, giving time and attention to cover all of our interests. He also offered recommendations for museums and restaurants to visit during our remaining time in Auckland. We're grateful to TIME Unlimited for the opportunity to spend a day in an active learning experience. Lunch at the Winter Garden was also very pleasant.

        Faboulous Day Trip
We had a fantastic day first day in Auckland. Our guide was wonderful and we learned so much about the city, Maori culture and surrounding area. The views of the city were beautiful and the rainforest and beach were breathtaking. It was a great way to kick off our trip to New Zealand!

        Excellent day
A great day trip in the hands of our wonderful guide Kirsty. Saw all the relevant sites in Rotorua and the Te Puia geothermal and Māori experience is a must. Exceptional little touches with water and snacks in the Mercedes people carrier. Whilst Te Puia was an extra charge you can tailor your day to suit your own preferences. Overall great value for a private 11 hour trip.

        Luxury in Touring and Education
We had engaged Ceillhe and Neill before Covid and finally 4 years later we got to Auckland and it was worth the wait. We spent over three days and two nights on tour, from Auckland, to Rotura, to Hobbiton, to Sanctuary Mountain. We had the best care, We enjoyed the luxury, the education, and the care that was provided. The tour was personalized for us. We learned of New Zealand, its peopls including the Maori (Ceillhe is Maori). We highly recommend this tour, but only if you want the best. We met Neill and Ceillhe as Tour Guides, we left them as family. Our highest recommenmdation Alex and Madelyn

Tour companies that are a star above the others
This is an awesome tour company. We were picked up on time by the owner Neill, and did a tour of Auckland city. He is very knowledgeable and safe driver putting customers a priority in everything. We had a second full day tour to HobbiTon and Waitomo glow worm caves and our driver was Julia. Again a very safe and knowledgeable driver putting the comfort and desires of the customer a priority. Highly recommend this group if you want a five star luxury experience. Will book again with no hesitation.

Cheeky Kiwi tour of the Lord of the Rings movie set and the Glow Worm Cave.
The Hobbiton movie set was fantastic. I kept expecting to see Sam and Frodo appear at any moment. Very well done and an experience everyone should have. I highly recommend the walk and boat ride through the Glow Worm Cave. A once in a lifetime moment. Our Cheeky Kiwi Guide/Driver, Grant, was professional, gave informative talks and did his best to ensure that each person enjoyed the total trip. Worth every penny spent.

        Matakana Our Way!
It was so unexpected that our guide picked us up in a luxury vehicle with a basket of snacks and water. The attention to detail was much appreciated after the hectic self drive portion of our trip. Our journey included stops at a winery and sculpture garden for lunch and tasting. As we drove to our next stops, the guide kindly made an unplanned detour for another wine tasting and again for fresh oysters. We also visited Matakanas market area and bought chocolates, wonderful beaches, a pottery workshop, and enjoyed a gelato stop. Besides the personalized itinerary, the highlight was the awesome guide whose friendliness, commentary and knowledge added to our enjoyment. This was a luxury tour that I will not soon forget. Great experience!

Breviss was the perfect tour guide. He was jovial and charismatic. He knew his audience and how to make sure they had a good time. The tour is an all day event. Breviss picked us up and took us to see some of the historic sites in Auckland. Every place he took us had an epic view of either the ocean or the city. We ate at great restaurant before heading off on a drive to see the beach. Snacks and water were available throughout the trip. At each stop Breviss gave us a bit of history for the location and endeavored to teach us a few words in Maori. He made it a welcoming environment to ask questions about both the Maori culture and their history. We learned a great deal about the culture and Breviss spoke with clear passion about the challenges faced by the Maori people; both in their colonial past and in the present. You really couldn't ask for a more entertaining and informative tour of New Zealand in such a short time. The trip itself does last the whole day from 9am until approximately 4:30pm. But it was well worth the time and money.

The tour was good, allthough we had bigger expectations. Good tourguides as well and so was the bus. All concidered the price was a little too much and €150 a person would be a better price for a tour like this and the €237,= a person we have paid was really way overpriced.

Great that Ruben enjoyed his tour with us. We have exceptional guides and our guide Hinauri is amazing that we know will have looked after them very well. Value is very much a personal thing and the feedback we have received for almost 2 decades now is that our tours, while deliberately not cheap, are great value for money for discerning guests, as opposed to those just looking for a cheap deal. Part of the reason why we have wonderful guides, by the way, is that we pay them very well way above average and furthermore do a lot to look after our team. We provide a lot of extras, such as snacks, a comprehensive lunch, tastings and lots of other extras that they will have enjoyed too. The "bus" that is mentioned is a top-end Mercedes Sprinter with leather seats and super-comfortable interior. The reality is that some guests may not appreciate all the extra things they are given but our manuhiri (valued guests) definitely have great value for money. By the way, the guide that we had allocated for this tour fell sick at short notice. Instead of making it easy for ourselves and cancelling the tour, instead we at considerable expense to us flew one of our guides who now lives in Wellington to Auckland (which she still knows like the back of her hand) to ensure the tour still goes ahead. Our guide is amazing and we are very proud that she continues to want to work for us, which she does when operations require this despite living quite far away now. Neill & Ceillhe

A day out around the greater Auckland area, learning about aspects of Moari culture and history in the area. We visited locations on the city and outside, our guide keeping the conversation going throughout. It is a relatively small number of people so quite personal too. Highly recommended.

Although the terrible storms which battered their community and added issues with barnacles on the bottom of our cruise ship prevented us from ever reaching New Zealand, this family run small company were compassionate and kind to us over our cancelling our booking. I was also in a bit of a state due to other issues and perhaps not the easiest of people to deal with at that point. But they understood completely. No formality of a large tour company, just excellent ans kind personal contact. I wish I could have done the trip just to meet them , and I hope I can make it another time. I am sure it would have been a superb day

This booking was made for a day during the worst flooding Auckland has ever experienced, with the result that their cruise ship had to divert and not dock in Auckland. While it was such a shame that we couldn't meet these booked guests, they sounded lovely and we really hope they will be able to visit Auckland one day soon. Ultimately, the reason we have our business is because we still love what we do after almost 20 years through many ups (delighted guests) and downs (notable the last 3 years of pandemic, Auckland floods and cyclone). Despite all that has happened in the past 3 years, we couldn't think of anything else we would prefer to do. Wishing you all the very best and may we meet one day soon! Neill Sperath

The tour was not what was advertised. While there were charming aspects and the guides were friendly, the stops and the information included didn't line up with what was indicated as the tour. For example, we did not go to several of the places listed, nor did we see the cultural things indicated in the photos. While we had a nice time, it was not worth the price paid, and we were left a bit disappointed.

It's really amazing just how "tone-deaf" some people are. Since the cyclone, which caused massive damage around Auckland and especially our west coast (which is what she is referring to), we several days before this tour sent her the following message: "Kia ora Christine, As an update re Cyclone Gabrielle, which of course caused major damage on Auckland's west coast a few weeks ago, this means that our west coast will most likely not be open for visitation for below tour and we are monitoring this daily as locations around Auckland reopen. If our west coast is still closed when you tour with us, we have many other locations in and around Auckland to ensure you have a great day while in our care. Just so you know. Neill & Ceilhe". This has been designed to allow our guests to decide whether they want to still do the booked tour, or still have enough time to cancel FOC. What we can't accept is when we have clearly communicated what has happened and how we are dealing with this - massive damage that at this point is still closing off access to our west coast - and then this person still goes ahead with the tour and then complains about parts of the advertised locations not being visited. Honestly we despair at how heartless some people are while all we are doing is our very, very best but for some people, no matter what we do, they will find something to complain about. We wonder what more can we do than clearly communicate what effect the Auckland floods followed a couple of weeks later the biggest cyclone to ever hit Auckland had - and that we will show our guests other great locations that we are allowed to visit. What makes the current situation difficult is that we are expecting, and hoping for, all the locations we usually visit to open again in stages very shortly. So we clearly communicate that we may not be able to visit all of what is advertised but have an equally good plan in place to maximise our manuhiri's (valued guests) enjoyment, only for exactly this proactive way of dealing with this catastrophic situation to be criticised. After 3 years of hell for those of us in tourism due to pandemic, floods and cyclone, one would like to expect to not receive a kick in the guts when already down but some people just can't help themselves. We wish you a good life and lots of happiness :-). Neill & Ceillhe

We did and saw everything that was described in the brochure (which I read after the tour) and Keri our guide was absolutely lovely. She shared so much about Maori customs and keeping the Maori culture alive in the modern age. This tour definitely ticks the luxury box with vehicle used, presentation of everything and restaurant we went to for lunch. In saying this, I'm not sure what we were expecting with a Maori tour as opposed to an Auckland tour but I'm not sure this hit the mark for us. I'm thinking it would have been better if I'd done a little more research on what I wanted to know more about of Maori culture......and maybe do something a little more "hands on" with the culture.

Kiaora JORIDU, thanks for your comments above which we find are quite common as people who book are not sure why they book. It's the reason we often ask people upfront to introduce themselves at the start of the tour and what expecations they have. This way we can integrate the culture into the tour so people leave with an insight into our living culture. We find people who are not familiar with our culture try to compare us to other indigenous people who they might know of and come from a vantage point of their adverse history. We are not sure what you mean by 'hands on" as our tours want to make sure there is a two-way exchange of some historical information but also to ensure people visit sites of significance, learn about history but also be immersed in our culture that has not just survived - it has thrived! Keri is an experienced Maori language educator, a professional singer and works within communities to instil important aspects of our culture. Like all our Kaiarahi (host-guides) we feel that manuhiri (valued visitors) like yourself travel to see what the local culture is like and so we set out on our tours to showcase and 'share our everyday'. We believe that understanding a culture is not just seeing the locals 'dance' or put on a show for you instead we want our guests to understand we naturally just live our culture so people can see that is just how we are. We often have people asking 'where is the village' but we have evolved to integrate and embrace our rich culture as part of NZ's way of life - at school, work and in everyday life. What is very special is that our Maori culture exists alongside all other people of varying cultures that share NZ as their home.
