Auckland Shore Excursion: Waiheke Island Tour With Zipline Adventure
US$106.21
Overview
When your ship docks in Auckland, take a ferry across the Hauraki Gulf to Waiheke Island for a zipline adventure, soaring above the forest. Enjoy a small-group experience with a maximum of 12 participants along three zipline rides. Your shore excursion includes a round-trip ferry ticket plus an interpretive bush walk and a brief guided tour of the island by minivan.
What to Expect
Make your way to Pier 2 at the Auckland ferry terminal — less than a 10-minute walk from the cruise ship port — and catch a morning ferry to Waiheke Island to begin your shore excursion.
The 45-minute ferry ride takes you across the Hauraki Gulf with superior harbor views of Auckland. On arrival, you’re greeted by a professional guide who takes you on a 25-minute tour of Waiheke Island by minivan. Catch sight of the city skyline from atop Trig Hill, one of the island’s highest points.
Here, check in at the visitor center, receive your safety gear and hear an instructional briefing from an expert zipline guide who offers personalized attention in your small group limited to 12. Head up to a platform where you’re securely attached to the cable by a full-body harness, and begin the first of three 655-foot (200-meter) flights through the forest canopy.
Your zipline adventure starts out gently above a vineyard, but the gradient gradually increases on the following two flights as you zoom across a valley and through the treetops canopy.
Back on firm ground, continue your Waiheke Island excursion with a guided 1-mile (1.5-km) walk on an easy interpretive forest trail back to the visitor center. You’re transferred by minivan to the ferry terminal for the return ferry ride to Auckland’s Pier 2.
Worry-free Shore Excursion: We will ensure your timely return to the Auckland cruise port for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.

We did only the zip line tour as we were not sure if we had enough time to do the wine tour and get back to the cruise ship on time. The communication with the operators was flawless! The tour was great, only five people...More

Nice people but not much ziplining

First, the people were very nice and worked very hard! But, they only had 3 ziplines and they weren't very long. The eco walk was nice but the attendant walked too fast. My wife and I love ziplining but, unfortunately, we have to say this...More

We agree, Gabby and Sarah are fantastic! All our guides love zip lining but the regeneration of our native forest as well as our pest & weed eradication is definitely top of the list! Many thanks for your review. Becks & the EcoZip crew.

A Fun Activity with Kids

Our ride from the ferry was pleasant not to long. The guides help put your gear on properly and explain do's and don'ts about everything. We had a fun time taking turns videoing each other. I will say this after zip-lining in Alaska these zip-lines...More

We were zip lining by 10 am. After being tendered in and driven to the zipline site. There was only three of us and we're the first ones of the day. I'm thinking if you are the first ones off the ship you can still enjoy... More
