A cracking tour. Beach and forest with lots of information and fun.
Fabulous trip. Our lovely driver and guide couldn’t have been more helpful and informative. Arrived at the beach during a pretty wet time but waterproofs were supplied enabling us all to experience a pretty wonderful location. Can’t recommend it highly enough

        Great day tour from Auckland
Excellent day with brilliant driver and guide Damian. Throughly recommend the tour - local knowledgeable guide added bonus. Small group 13 in a very comfortable bus. Damian went beyond to ensure each guest needs were met.

Best. Day. Ever!! Hobitton and Glow Worm caves with Bush and Beach Tours
Best. Day. Ever!! My husband and I are retired and spent nearly 3 weeks in New Zealand taking many tours. This one was the best! Our tour guide, Damian, was one of the best we have ever had, and we travel a lot! He took us in a very comfortable, late model, very clean van out to Hobitton in the morning. It did not disappoint in any way! Had a very good lunch at Hobitton and then drove to the glow worm caves. Then back to Auckland. Even a bit of rain did not put a damper on it at all - as a matter of fact it made the Misty Mountains even more beautiful and magical, so don’t let a bit of rain deter you! The glow worm caves are incredible!! Thousands of glow worms light up the underground caves which are seen on foot and by boat. It is not strenuous at all! There are walkways and easy stairs, and the boat is easy to get on and out of. Assistance is there if needed. The areas of New Zealand’s North Island we saw today pack a lot of punch in natural beauty and should not be missed. Damian gave us so much interesting and good info about so many things related to our trip today - it was wonderful!! He speaks very clearly and at a pace that makes him easily understood. I would highly recommend this tour to any one of any age!

        Tats, Hobbits and Worms
TBH, I’m am not an avid Lord of the Rings fan. This is more my hubby’s gig. I have to say, though, between our incredible tour guide and the prompt, thorough service of Bush and Beach Tours, it was a very enjoyable and fun day. Wayne, our guide won us over from moment one. “My name’s Wayne, as in John…. Just as big but still alive”. 😆. He’s a New Zealander with a Minnesota Vikings tattoo on his arm. My husband was in heaven. Huge Vikings fan. Took pics and sent them to the fam… of Wayne’s tat… not so much of Hobbiton! Oh yes, Hobbiton was pretty cool even for us non elves and Hobbits. The Glow Worm Caves were even better. A wonder of nature. So in short, this is a very good, stress-free tour with a great tour company.

Great trip, with very friendly guides
Great tour, getting us to some interesting places that we would not have visited under our own steam. Kevin was an excellent guide, and Alex was a very safe driver. The trip was worth it alone just for the Cambodian meat pies!

From the Rainforest to Piha Beach
Maurie was a very good host. She knew all about the area and was well spoken. Learned a lot about the Maori tribe. We walked through a "rain forest" and then she took us to Piha Beach which was beautiful.

        Great tour!
Fantastic tour. Kevin and Meiri were excellent guides. Kevin was a wealth of information sprinkled with lots of good humor. They set a great tone for the tour which encouraged a lot of friendly bantering amongst the participants. The places we visited were beautiful. We learned so much. Lunch was simple and delicious. We highly recommend this tour. It's the perfect way to visit the west coast of Auckland.

Really wonderful day seeing Hobbiton and the Glow Worm Caves.
We had a wonderful day. Wayne, our driver, was excellent and entertained us the entire day. Our was comfort stops in both directions, kept to the time schedule since our tours were scheduled and we even had an extra bonus of feeding an ostrich when we had a little extra time. The van was very comfortable with seats that were designed so everyone could see out the front window even if you were sitting in the back. I highly recommend this company as well as Wayne.

        Absolutely Wonderful Tour
Wonderful tour that included a stop at the Arataki Centre, with a guided walk in the rainforest, and a visit to the spectacular Piha Beach. Truly informative, led by personable and knowledgeable guides. Terrific views. Piha Beach is surely one of the world's most beautiful. Our guides, Alex and Mairi, were absolutely the best: fun, accommodating, and engaging. Highly recommended.

Traveling Solo, But Felt Like Family
My trip with Bush and Beach felt like a family trip. Damian, our tour guide was outstanding. He picked me up right on time (6:45a), which impressed me. He made me feel like family by telling me all about what I was going to expect. He did a great job of introducing me to my fellow tour mates from Canada. Damian went above and beyond to share with us all things New Zealand: history, restaurants, geography, agriculture, and me; his stories alone were worth the price of admission. Although I went by myself, I never felt alone. Thank you Damian, you are a rockstar.

Absolutely beautiful "escape" to the rainforest and one of the loveliest beaches in NZ.
This was a lovely small group tour, perfect for me as a solo traveller. A smooth pick-up from a central Auckland location was a great start, and our guide provided a knowledgeable commentary throughout the minibus journey as well as at each stop. We had a delightful walk through a short section of the rainforest and the Arataki Visitor Centre is beautifully laid out and well worth a visit... but the best was yet to come. Piha beach was simply beautiful! Our guide demonstrated the magic of iron sand with his magnet! but walking beside the turquoise sea, white surf and black sand was even more magical... followed by fruit juice and home-made cookies in the shade of little trees, listening to more local stories, before the journey back to the city. What a perfect day!

        Fantastic Hobbiton day trip
The trip was great from start to finish, everything was prompt and on time leaving from Auckland and getting back exactly on time. Damien was our driver and was a pleasure to have. He gave great insight and details about Hobbiton and New Zealand that really added to the whole trip. Definitely would come back and do it again. 10/10

        Magical tour!
Such a great experience! It's hard to put into words how magical the Hobbiton movie set is, and our fabulous tour guide Damien was so full of anecdotes and interesting history about New Zealand that the approximately 2 hour drive was a breeze. The glow worm cave is also absolutely worth seeing, it is almost certainly unlike anything you have ever seen before! Overall I would absolutely recommend this tour, especially if you get Damien as your guide!

Michelle our guide was a complete delight to be with as she expertly guided our small mini bus to see the history and highlights of Auckland. We were so impressed by the amount of sites we visited and there were plenty of opportunities for photos and a stop for coffee and a wee.
Because of the timely pick up from our hotel we really maximised our short visit and discovered so much of the historic Māori culture and even went to Devonport which was so just lovely we took the ferry back there again for dinner.
Michelle even helped us drop off at our next hotel further along Queen Street. This tour is done with such good grace and a must do if visiting Auckland for the first time.

Tour guide/driver Wayne led a fun and fact filled tour of Auckland. They drive you nearly to the top of Mt Victoria and the spectacular views there. He introduced us to the neighborhood of Devonport that we visited in the afternoon on our own, taking the ferry from downtown Auckland. We were disappointed we could not go to the beach and forest due to closed roads damaged by the cyclone. Pick up from the hotel was on time. Wayne is even a Minnesota Vikings fan!

Our tour with Wayne gave us a good overview of Auckland in a short amount of time— a great option for passengers arriving by crisis ship. The meeting place was easy to locate as we left the pier, and we enjoyed touring with a small group rather than the large groups on excursions booked through the cruise lines. Bush and Beaches gave us a great value with our half day tour.

Informative tour led by Wayne, who has a great sense of humour. We learned something new and interesting things about the city, and marked a few places to explore later on. Convenient pick up and drop off at our hotel. Appreciated the rest stop in Takapuna, great little cafe.

I'm not sure why I thought there would be more walking, but it is entirely a bus tour. In this case, it was actually better because it was POURING and windy. I think if the weather were a little better, it would have been much nicer. However, our guide was FANTASTIC, and I definitely was able to get a nice glimpse into the city, as I've never stayed in Auckland before. So I would recommend this for someone short on time and who is looking for a driving tour.

Hi there, Thank you for your review – As you mentioned, the 3 hour morning Auckland city tour is designed for those short on time to be able to see a great selection of highlights of Auckland, which would not be possible on foot. We are thrilled that you felt that the guide was fantastic, we pride ourselves on our guides finding that balance between educational and entertaining. All the best!

Kelly gave us a great tour of the city and surrounds. We saw and learnt so much in the 3 hours. Perfect amount and pacing of information, he is very knowledgeable about the city, people, economy and sights. Good fun and happy to answer any questions along the way. Stopped at really good places for photos, views & coffee. We’ve done quite a few of this type of tour and this was one of the best. Would highly recommend

Friendly, bright and interesting guide (Jason), the tour was well paced, comprehensive and enjoyable. We were stopping in an Airbnb in Parnell so selected a nearby hotel for pickup, but actually met our driver on the walk down. All arrangements and timings were spot on, we three agreed it was the best possible overview to Auckland given our limited time there. Recommended.
