Overview
Discover New Zealand’s Maori history and heritage with a local Maori guide and a small group of no more than 15 people. This tour takes you to the sacred Maori lands of the Waitakere Ranges, where you can hear Maori legends while hiking through the Tiriwa forest, tuck into a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, then enjoy a thrilling Maori cultural performance at Auckland Museum, including the famous Haka dance.
Highlights
  • Maori guide: hear first-hand accounts of Maori life and traditions
  • Traditional Maori entertainment: cultural show and Haka dance
  • Great value: includes hotel pickup, lunch, and entrance fees
  • Small group tour: enjoy extra attention from your guide
What to Expect
After pickup from your Auckland hotel, leave the city to explore the Waitakere Ranges, along the west coast. As you explore the ancient Maori lands, stop to enjoy a short hike through the Tiriwa forest, where your guide will point out plants and herbs used in natural medicine, Maori cooking, and other traditional practices. Continue along the coast, stopping at black sand beaches and scenic lookouts, then return to the city via the Tamaki Drive, with stunning views over Waitemata Harbour. After lunch at a local restaurant, end the day watching a captivating Maori culture performance at the Auckland Museum, including the renowned Haka war dance. Your tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

On our Auckland Maori Luxury Tour and Cultural Performance, our manuhiri (guests) get to see the very best sights of Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) and the wild West Coast with an indigenous guide plus experience the Polynesian Galleries and Maori Cultural Performance at Auckland Museum. It was a great pleasure reading your review and we are delighted you enjoyed our tour so much with Keri. TIME in our name TIME Unlimited Tours is an acronym and stands for "To Integrate Maori Experiences", so that our manuhiri (guests) really get a feeling for what makes this land so unique and different. One of the main unique things about Aotearoa (New Zealand) is of course our Maori culture). Ka kite ano (see you again soon)! Neill & Ceillhe Sperath
