Immersed in Nature Just Outside the Auckland CBD
A wonderful experience about an hour out from Auckland CBD. Our tour guides, Erin and Luke, took us on this adventure. We stopped first at the Waikatere Ranges Regional Park where we had a beautiful view of both the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea. We the n took a short hike through the park and learned about native plants and saw lots of bird life. From there, we ventured on to Piha beach, which must be seen to be believed. The rock outcroppings and ocean are stunning, and the sand is really and truly black. When you scoop it on your hands, you will see the iron that gives it the black hue. Erin and Luke were so thoughtful and knowledgeable about the area, being local to these locations. Their knowledge and excitement in sharing information about the wildlife was contagious. We had a great tour!

        Incredible Tours, Top Notch Guides
Incredible experience. We took the tour with pick up from our hostel in Rotorua to Hobbiton. Our driver for that leg, Willy, was kind and courteous and an absolute pleasure. We even had to take a detour due to a road closure but Willy navigated around and made sure we made it to Hobbiton right on time. He even waited and made sure we met our tour guide for the second leg, Damian. We were with Damian from Hobbiton to Waitomo, and then to Auckland. Damian was a wealth of knowledge about Hobbiton, the different cities and vistas along the route back to Auckland, and general facts and information about New Zealand - especially about bird conservation, predator remediation, and bush cabins. I really appreciated his insight and commentary on the ride. My partner and I are vegetarian, and Damian even made sure we knew what options were available to us at the Hobbiton lunch buffet. And of course, Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves were incredible experiences and I am grateful to have visited each site. I highly recommend Bush and Beach tours and I will tour with them again when I next visit New Zealand.

Meredith was our guide and she was amazing with an extensive knowledge of New Zealand history and politics. Very personable and friendly. She made the rainforest tour interesting and educational. I would highly recommend this tour.

Great day trip to Hobbitton and Waitomo
Really enjoyed our day trip to the Hobbitton movie set and the Waitomo glowworm caves. Very professionally run with lots of information and entertainment from guide Wayne. Both locations definitely worth seeing, and a very good included buffet lunch in Hobbitton. Strongly recommend.

Very nice half day tour of the city
Lovely relaxed morning tour excellent for seeing the highlights and getting the lay of the land with a small group of 18 people top. We lucked out with Murray, our guide and driver who told us many interesting facts about this lovely city and the nation, answered every wuestion we threw at him and graced us with a modicum of his dry and witty humor all the while driving us safely and punctually to our next stop. The whole company seems to be well run and organised, with up to 15 well kept small vans interacting to get the groups together and the various tours running on time. Recommended!

The rainforest and Puhi worth the trip
Our tour was fantastic thanks to Jason and Murray. It was both informative and fun we loved the hike through a rainforest. Murray was great about pointing out things that we would’ve simply walked by. Jason was helpful throughout and used his personal knowledge of the western coast of Auckland to all of our advantage. I would highly recommend.

        Amazing tour
It was a very interesting tour. Our driver, Damian, was telling us interesting stories about life in NZ, about history of the NZ and Māori people. He has this welcoming personality, that makes you happy. The tour to the Hobbiton was very good! A lot of locations, a lot of places to take pictures. And the weather was nice!

        Great day out.
Great experience at Hobbiton. Wonderful attention to detail in the displays. Good lunch provided. The driver Wayne was very knowledgeable and fun, had lots of anecdotes ( and dad jokes) and made the ride very enjoyable. Over all we had good day out. Highly recommend it.

        Punctual, Courteous, and Efficient Tour
They were very efficient, punctual, and courteous. They managed it well despite this being a logistical jujitsu for they brought in tourists from Rotorua and Auckland in different buses with lots of luggage and dispersed them to different tours and destinations in different busses after the Hobbiton tour - without misplacing the bags! Our driver/guide, Kelly, was excellent in maintaining the schedule and giving us updates during the drive. Bush and Beach added a couple of nice touches as part of the tour package - a lunch and a NZ $10 discount voucher in the Gift Shop.

Every penny was well worth it, and we would rate this experience as a 5-star plus!
Our family of five, including three teenagers, had an incredible time! Our guide was exceptional, and the microbus provided comfortable and spacious transportation, making stops at fascinating places along the way. The lunch provided was simply incredible, complete with complimentary beverages and souvenirs to remember the experience. Additionally, Bush & Beach went above and beyond by picking us up and returning us to our lodging.

        Excellent overview of the city.
Really delivered on what was promised. Our guide (Milton?) was proud to show off his city and gave us a great tour. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relatively quick overview of the city.

Our tour ended up being modified due to the lasting effects of the recent Cyclone, however it was quite an amazing tour! Walking through the rainforest of the Waitakere among the kauri, silver ferns and nikau was so serene and peaceful. The walk was made for a mid-level fitness so be prepared to breathe a bit harder.
We had delicious afternoon tea/coffee after our walk before heading to Whatipu coastal black sand beach. The beach is not one to swim at as the currents look fairly strong. This one is more for reflection and appreciation for the experience. New Zealand is unparalleled in beauty, and walking along the shores of Whatipu beach is very humbling.
We finished the tour with a moderate uphill walk up mt Donald McLean and it was so worth it! Although the skies were overcast it was still beautiful and the fact that you couldn’t hear anything but nature was the cherry on top.
Thank you to Burkhard and Bush&Beach for creating a memorable experience. Our guide was good fun and took care of us the whole way through!
We highly recommend this tour to get away from the city and catch a small glimpse of what else New Zealand has to offer.

This tour was truly amazing. It takes you out of urban Auckland out to Piha Beach, through a rainforest, and up to a beautiful waterfall. All of these sites are truly spectacular. You get views of Piha beach from various heights and angles before driving down to it and actually walking on it.

We had only seven people so the experience was intimate and our driver was prompt, well equipped and well organized. He was also quite knowledgeable having lived in the area most of his life.

I would highly recommend this tour to anybody visiting Auckland. It gives you wonderful insight into what the North Island outside of Auckland really is like. Not to be missed!

Our day was packed with memorable experiences from the moment our guide, Wayne, picked us up at 9:00 a.m. until our return at 5:00 p.m. We toured the downtown area of Auckland and the surrounding suburbs before stopping for coffee and pastries at a quaint café along the beach. Along the way, Wayne regaled us with humorous stories and historical facts as he drove us to the top of a volcano for an incredible panoramic view of Auckland and the surrounding bay. We then visited the largest marina in the Southern Hemisphere before a stop for lunch as our wilderness experience began. The eco-tour began at the Arataki Centre which served as an introduction to the rain forest and it’s amazingly diverse plant and animal life. It was truly awe-inspiring! From there our tour ended as we strolled the black sand beach of the west coast. I can’t recommend this tour enough to anyone in search of a best of both worlds adventure.

The 7 hour tour was canceled because of torrential rains the night before, but Bush and Beach got us on a half day tour of the rainforest and black sand beach. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the rainforest. And, our guide was great.

We were in New Zealand the last week of November and were fortunate enough to take the Beach and Bush tour for the rainforest and waterfal tour. The views and scenary were out of this world and our tour guide, Erin Griffin (I hope my spelling is correct), she was fantastic. It was a memorable trip that we (three of us took it) will always remember. Highly recommended to all visitors to NZ.

Tony was friendly, chatty and knowledgeable about nature.

We had a few lengthy walks through forestry and had a few brief stops along the way for photo opportunities.

This trip may not be suited for some as majority of the footpaths in the rainforests were inclined and walking pace was quite moderate which was a bit of a struggle for me to keep up towards the end as I take short strides (short legs), but I’m glad I made it through as it was a breathe of fresh air and saw lovely green sceneries plus coastal views.

      Amazing day!

This tour exceeded all my expectations— I had an awesome guide with tons of knowledge. It rained the entire day, and yet the rainforest walk was magical, even with the rain. I highly recommend booking with Bush and Beach. Great service from start to finish!

Oh, and the shop we stopped at to select our lunch was DELICIOUS.
