Pinnacles Sunset Stargazing Tour
US$136.06
Overview
Come and see the Pinnacles at sunset and then enjoy dinner under the stars in the mystical Pinnacles Desert on our small group tour of 11 people. Get a close up look at the stars through our telescope and try your hand at Astrophotography, you may even see the rings surrounding the planet of Saturn. Learn about Aboriginal Astronomy and here stories from the Aboriginal Dreamtime relating to the stars above you. Before dinner we also visit the Swan Valley for wine and chocolate tasting as well as giving you a chance to go sand surfing in the giant sand dunes at Lancelin.
What to Expect
Your tour guide will pick you up in our bus from your accommodation in the city and nearby surrounding areas. Our first stop will be the Swan Valley where you get to wander around the grounds of the Gombok Gallery Sculpture Park which is the largest privately owned art gallery in Western Australia. After taking a few good selfies with the sculptures, you then head to Coward and Black for wine and food tasting, a multi award winning boutique winery. Right next door is the Margaret River Chocolate Factory where you can sample chocolate for free and maybe buy something sweet to have with dinner later in the evening. Then off to the House of Honey where you can taste free samples of their wide range of honey.

You now head north to the crayfishing town of Lancelin where you will have the opportunity to go sand surfing down the giant sand dunes. If the conditions are right, your tour guide will send up our Mavic Pro drone to get pictures and video of you surfing down the sand dunes. Then back in the bus as we head further north along the Indian Ocean Drive with views of the Turquoise Coast. If it's wildflower season we do a quick stop at the Ngilgen Lookout to do a short wildflower walk trail. Keep an eye out for kangaroos that become more active at this time of day.

Now off to our end destination, the Pinnacles Desert. We arrive around sunset which is one of the best times of day to see and photograph the Pinnacles. As the sun is setting, your guide will set up our dinner table under the stars with candle lights where you will get a chance to try wines from the famous Margaret River and Great Southern Region of WA.

After dinner, your guide will set up the telescope so you can get a close up look at the stars and some of the planets. You can attach your smartphone to the telescope to try your hand at Astrophotography. Your guide will also lay down some sleeping mats on the observation deck so you can lie down and look up at the stars and learn about Aboriginal Astronomy as your guide tells stories from the Aboriginal Dreamtime relating to the night sky. Perhaps you will see a shooting star and get to make a wish.

Now time to get back in the bus and take you back to your accommodation. Throughout the trip, your guide will provide commentary on plants and native animals of interest as we see them, the history of the early European explorers who first visited WA as well as teaching you a bit about Aboriginal Culture and how they used to live off the land.

All entry fees are included in the price as well as your dinner at the Pinnacles.

Amazing moment of the nature without artificial...

It was the best tour I've ever had. Although stay in Swan Valley was short(no problem), it gave me a longer, more relaxed view of the sunset and the stargazing in the Pinnacle Desert. This is a tour that made me feel the amazing moment...More
