Overview
Take a break from the bustle of Melbourne and spend the day in nature during this full-day tour of Phillip Island. Meet native koalas at the Koala Conservation Centre and visit the Churchill Island Heritage Farm. Then watch Phillip Island’s famous Penguin Parade, during which hundreds of little penguins emerge from the sea and waddle to their burrows for the night.
What to Expect
Meet your guide at Federation Square and begin your journey south to Phillip Island. En route, your guide provides information about the area and its native animals. Stop at Churchill Island Heritage Farm and take in the scenic views of the rolling countryside. Enjoy delicious afternoon tea with scones, jams, and cream (own expense) before heading to Phillip Island.

Once on island, stop in at the Koala Conservation Centre, walk across the elevated boardwalk, and search for koalas—most of whom will be asleep or chewing eucalyptus leaves—in their natural habitat.

Next up is the famous Penguin Parade on Summerland Beach. Enjoy a complimentary drink while you wait for hundreds of little penguins to waddle back to their burrows after a day of swimming.

After the parade, stop to enjoy a quick bite to eat (own expense) before your tour ends back in Melbourne.

About 2 hours at the Moonlit Sanctuary and an hour and a half at a working farm, both on Churchill Island. We were on a bus tour.
