The outer reefs offer some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef. This cruise sets sail for the Agincourt Reef, where you can snorkel amid colorful coral gardens, enjoy optional scuba dives (certified divers only), and tuck into a delicious seafood lunch onboard.
What to Expect

Make your own way to the marina in Port Douglas to meet your guide and board your boat—the luxurious Poseidon III, a high-speed catamaran equipped with an air-conditioned lounge and a lowering transom for easy access to the water. Admire the views from deck as you set sail across the Coral Sea and venture out to explore the more remote outer reefs.

Arrive at the first of three dive sites, located along the outer limits of Agincourt Reef. Depending on the tour option selected, either get suited up for your first scuba diving excursion (certified divers only) or jump in to swim and snorkel amid the vibrant coral gardens.

As you explore the reef, learn more about the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Great Barrier Reef and its unique ecosystems from your marine biologist guide, and spot an abundance of tropical fish, marine life, and colorful coral formations.

You visit three different sites with various options for snorkeling and scuba diving. In between, relax on deck and take in the scenery as you enjoy a seafood buffet lunch. Morning and afternoon tea are also served onboard.

After a full day at sea, return to the mainland, where your tour ends back at Port Douglas.

Decent dayboat but nothing special

Now my review may be skewed because I had spent three days on a liveaboard before coming up to Port Douglas to dive off a day boat and I am a certified advanced diver (so some of this wont apply if you are an intro...More

A Great Day

We booked with Poseidon because it is a smaller boat and they travel to three sites. The day was very well organised with the divers on the first level and the snorkelers on the top level. Our party was half divers and half snorkelers. I...More

Fantastic day on the Reef!

I took my 12 year old daughter for her first scuba diving experience on Poseidon and we both had a fantastic time! The crew were wonderful, friendly, super enthusiastic and passionate about the reef and extremely experienced and confident instructors who made our day stress...More
