Overview
Explore the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Great Barrier Reef at Green Island on a full-day sailing tour from Cairns that offers swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving options. See the colorful coral reefs up close, lounge on the white-sand beaches, or walk through the island’s rain forest. This tour, which is suitable for all levels of water experience, includes snorkeling instruction and in-water assistance as well as lunch and light refreshments.
What to Expect
Make your own way to the Cairns marina to board your deluxe 2-masted schooner for the sail to Green Island, located on the Great Barrier Reef only 16 miles (26 kilometers) from Cairns. The spacious 54-foot (16.5-meter) sailboat is stocked with complimentary tea, coffee, muffins, and fruit for your morning tea. If interested, learn some sailing skills from the crew as you motor-sail to Green Island.

Stop at Pinnacle Reef, just off Green Island, for snorkeling or scuba diving at this underwater paradise. Around midday, the crew serves your buffet lunch onboard the boat, then transfers you by dinghy to Green Island. There, have time to enjoy the beach or visit attractions like Marineland Melanesia.

After more than four hours at the Great Barrier Reef, sail back to Cairns. Your onboard afternoon tea includes a glass of Australian sparkling wine to top off your tour.

Full day snorkeling trip by sailboat to the great barrier reef.

We booked this trip back in April of 2018. It seemed to be a good deal. 4 persons for less than 700 AUD for a full days experience. The trip would happen by sailboat. All the other offers in Cairns are by powered boats. The...More
