Overview
Skip the hassle of booking a rental car and puzzling over directions on this full-day trip to Lamington National Park with all transportation included from Brisbane or Gold Coast. While a guide takes care of the driving and provides commentary, take in views of the Pacific Ocean from atop Tambourine Mountain. Then participate in a variety of activities at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat. Cap the day off with a visit to a local alpaca farm. You'll do more on this guided day trip than you ever could on your own.
What to Expect
Be ready for convenient pickup at your hotel in Brisbane or Gold Coast. Be glad you aren't concentrating on the road or directions as you take in scenic views on the drive to Lamington National Park, part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.

On the way to your day's base at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat, make stops at the local Gallery Walk to peruse crafts and at Tambourine Mountain for epic views and photo ops over the Pacific Ocean.

Once you reach O’Reilly’s, spend the next few hours exploring independently during some free time. Opt to take a treetop canopy walk with a guide to teach you about the rain forest ecosystem or get some close-up views of native birds such as Albert's lyrebirds, wedge-tailed eagles, or bowerbirds. Independent travelers will enjoy the option to simply walk around the property’s rain forest trail system on their own. Upgrade for an included lunch at the on-site restaurant when booking.

On the way back to your departure point, stop at a local alpaca farm to see and learn about the fluffy creatures. End the day with drop-off back at your hotel.

Magic School Bus

Many a time while traveling I would look for ecotour rather than entirely self-guided tour. This is one of the best ways to learn about the wildlife. I was lucky enough to find one gifted guide to bring our family to Lamington National Park. One...More

Lots to do and see

Fortunately, you can do the canopy tour without having to stay at the resort. This is a beautiful area. There are other walks as well that are easy to do.
