      Fantastic trip and tour
I meant to write this review ages ago but completely forgot. It just popped back into my head so thought I would say how amazing my trip was. Our tour guide, Craig was absolutely fantastic. One of the nicest people you could hope to meet and was so helpful. He went above and beyond. We saw so many beautiful places and had so much fun. I was travelling alone and never once felt lonely with such a lovely bunch of people. Would love to do another tour someday!

      No show!
So, they took the money from our account for this trip yesterday. We arrive at the collection point at 0715 for a 0730 pick up today. We waited until 0800. No one arrive to collect us and no phone call to say they were running late. We tried to call and just got an automated message. Fed up of waiting and no contact we left and had to find something else to do for the day. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. Shocking customer service.

      Groovy Grid Tour
I have booked a tour from Adelaïde to Alice Springs in October 2019 and it was one of the most amazing experience of all time. Our tour guide was Altair, he put us all at ease as soon as we entered the tour bus, great sense of humour and awesome cook. Moreover, the group was extremely friendly ! It was my first tour ever and first time sleeping in a swag under the stars. The sceneries were spectacular, expecially Uluru. I really recommend this tour whether you are travelling alone or with someone, you will meet great people, laugh a lot, learn about and discover wonderful places.

      Fantastic!
5 - stars!! Easily one of the best and most affordable tours I've ever been on. We saw all the sights, but the real gem was our tour guide Clancy. He had a wealth of knowledge about every place we stopped and made sure everyone had a great time.

      Amazing experience
The tour was very organised and included all the interesting sights, while not being either too rushed or boring. Jerry was a wonderful guide, she had a lot of interesting information to share and always made sure there are good vibes going on the bus. Discovering and sharing meals together really brought the group together and there was always enough flexibility to meet everyone’s needs. It was a great experience that left unforgettable memories.

Incredible trip! Niki was the best
Absolutely incredible trip through the outback. NIKI was the best tour guide I have ever had. She was GENUINELY friendly, knowledgable, and had a lovely demeanor at all times (even when it was 4am and other guides would’ve been grouchy). We were a big group, so I imagine with all the driving, cooking prep, organizing, and wrangling 17 of us...it was a lot of work for her- but she made it look EASY! She made sure everyone’s needs were catered to. She made sure no one got left behind on the hikes, while also ensuring that no one was being held back from continuing on. I myself am vegan and have never eaten so well on a tour! All tours nowadays SAY that they can accommodate a vegan diet, but they’re not actually accommodating and it is the bare minimum. Not only did I never go hungry, the food was absolutely DELICIOUS! So grateful to Nikki for this, as not having proper meals is what normally discourages me from signing up for tours of this length. I can’t speak for all the guides at groovy grape, but I would take another tour with Niki in a HEARTBEAT! And if you are lucky enough to get her as your guide, you will know why! Also: sleeping under the stars was magical, the swags are super comfy, and the hikes/walks are STUNNING. Big thanks to Niki and groovy grape for this unforgettable trip! I couldn’t recommend it more!!

Absolutely loved, guide Bronwen made the trip
It's been a month and I'm still talking about this trip. It managed to tick off every box I had while keeping a relaxed pace. Bronwen is an excellent guide and our whole group had the best experience. We were a group of 8 out of a possible 22 which I do think was a big factor. We were constantly heading in the opposite direction of other tour groups which made for a unique, uncrowded experience. It genuinely felt like a road trip with friends, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

      Timmi (guide) was fantastic!
Just finished our tour yesterday and has to write a review Timmi was our guide for the 3 day trip from Adelaide, and he did not disappoint. He was an awesome host, always polite, professional and positive customer facing. He was incredibly knowledgeable and could answer any question about Australia. His true and charming nature comes through with abundance. He's been an absolutely joy to be around for the last 3 days. Couldn't of asked for a better guide. He's put on some really unbelievable food for our group, I've not eaten as well as that since I was back home in the UK 6 months ago! He caters for all dietary requirements and really know a his way around the kitchen! 😋 Timmi only told me at the end of the trip that this was his first trip he'd done from Adelaide tp Melbourne, but he seemed so reassured and calmed the whole time, he could of been doing it for years for all I'd known. Timmi is an absolute asset to your team! Fantastic tour, food, guide and sights. Thank you Timmi for the unforgettable experience 😊

Rock 2 Water .... MUST DO IN AUSTRALIA
I have recently been on the 6 day Rock to Water tour and it has been the best tour I have done so far. Departing from Alice Springs we covered the most beautiful sites in the area. Our tour guide Niki was amazing. She's kind, funny, well organized and always happy to give more information about the area, geology and culture. She made sure we all had a great and unforgettable trip. This tour gives you an idea of the real Australia, it's definitely not a luxury tour with hotel stays but a unique tour through the outback with beautiful nights under the stars, amazing views and hikes and stunning sunrises and sunsets. I've never slept in a swag before but it was one of the best things ever as the campsites are quite remote and we were lucky to have clear skies in the first 3 nights. I spent hours stargazing! The tour involves some early mornings (around 4am) but getting up early to see the sunrise and avoiding the summer heat as well as the crowds was absolutely worth it and the hikes will give you some stunning views over rock formations and the endless space of the desert. If you love the outdoors, want to have an adventure and learn more about the outback this tour is perfect. I loved it and would do it again anytime!

Excellent Barossa Valley tour and great value for money!
This was a great day out and was excellent value for money. From the start we had very clear and timely emails communicating details for the day including pick up points. They even provided a map in the email showing how we got to our pick up point and the time it would take to walk there. The bus did arrive a little late but that was due to a no show of another passenger before us and them trying to locate the passenger (so was not the companies fault that they were late). The group size was quite good (we should have had 19 on the tour (full bus) if she had turned up). Our fantastic host/driver, Em. She was a very friendly, careful driver who delighted in passing on her knowledge of the Barossa Valley. Although predominantly a young crowd (<35) there were a couple of us young at heart who were made to feel just as welcome. We visited 3 wineries and one tasting room with a couple of sights on the way. The wineries were great, particularly Kies, which is where we had lunch. We were given a menu in advance to choose from (which included a few vegetarian, vegan and GF options). Every dish that came out looked amazing and I can vouch that mine tasted amazing and was very filling. We had a slight issue where the buses engine warning light came on and we had to have a new bus sent out to us, but, Em handled the situation extremely well and no one seemed too upset that we had to stay a bit longer at the beautiful Kies winery, playing lawn games and sipping on some more wine whilst we waited. The only negative of the day was the host at the tasting room who was unnecessarily abrupt to the group, so hopefully GG can give the rooms some feedback so future tours don't have that issue too. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to tour the Barossa with having the added bonus of it being at a very reasonable price.

Groovy Grape Adelaide to Melbourne via The Grampians and Great Ocean Road
Absolutely fantastic tour. Groovy Grape Tours cater for a wide demographic. It was great to travel with our fun and entertaining tour guide (Jerry) and a energetic group of travelers from all over the world. Nothing was too much trouble. Jerry and Rick were incredibly knowledgeable about all the places we visited and they complied a great playlist of songs to enjoy on our journey. If you like a little privacy then I recommend upgrading your accommodation to a private room with an en-suite. Thanks to Jerry and Rick and Groovy Grape Tours for an awesome experience.

Good wineries, but too much wasted time.
We did the day wine tour. We were firstly disappointed that we had to walk nearly 15 minutes from our accommodation for a 0740am pick up. This was despite our hotel being only a 2 minute diversion from the pick up, and us being the only people to get on there. It was then explained to us that due to bush fires we couldn’t take the normal ‘scenic’ route, or would be able to see the whispering wall (obviously understandable and out with control), as such we then drove about an hour to a cafe where we spent 45 minutes buying our own coffee. We then travelled to various vineyards which were nice (with a particular mention going to the Kies lunch spot for their fantastic food) however there was a lot of waiting around at each venue - obviously to make up time - with the last vineyard having at least an extra half hour stop after the tasting. We also did various driving detours to see some “sights”. Once finished at our final vineyard, we set off for the hour trip back to Adelaide. However we had to stop for at least 20 minutes to vent the tour bus’ exhaust system to cool down (which was also not the nicest inside). As a structured tour, and having done many similar ones in the past, I would unfortunately have to rate this as disappointing. Whilst our guide Clint did well to attempt to deal with this time issue, we would definitely recommend less time wasting and instead simply shortening the day if affected by weather / bush fires / things out of control etc.

      A must do in Australia!!
AMAZING! I did this trip 9 years ago and I really wanted to do it again. So, a few weeks ago I went on this trip with my mom. Some long days of driving (but what else can you expect??). The things you see and do are amazing. I just can’t describe it.. This tour is definitely one of the best things I’ve done in my last 10 months of travelling. We had a really nice mixed group and our tour guide Altair made it even better!

One of the best tours I've ever had in my life. It is an adventurous journey, recommended to any one with good vibes. It starts with an intensive phase, and continues to a more calm one. Every early morning that we woke up was absolutely worth it. Seeing the marvellous views of the outback is almost spiritual, especially when coupled with the mind-boggling explanations of the tour guide about the geological past of the places. I was lucky enough to have Sid as the tour guide of our group. Our tour guide Sid was extremely knowledgeable and fun, always with good vibes - an it is not an easy task. The group was pretty impressed that the entire journey is orchestrated by one person. But this person is well trained to cope with any potential trouble like medical issues or cultural gaps. If you consider to go on this journey - just do it! leave your worries behind and trust Groovy guides to take care of it :)

Kings Canyon and Uluru are the stars of this trip and we were fortunate to see the waterfall in Kings Canyon after years without rain. Some more stops near the end of the trip would have been great but I know this was difficult with the time restraints. Sleeping in the swags was fine however it was so hot on the first night I didn’t get much sleep at all, a fan would have been so very welcome that night! Should have reconsidered going to the desert in the summer.
Our tour guide Craig was great, so much knowledge and good banter along the way, always upbeat (apart from when someone in the group woke him up at 3:45!) . It was nice that we were a small group so had lots of space on the bus.
The food was really good and there was so much! Some more snacks would have been nice may be as sometimes there was a long time between brekkie and lunch.
Overall such a good trip with an excellent tour guide. Definitely would book with groovy grape again 👍

We'd done the Red Centre before in our Landcruiser, and while the pictures were spectacular, it felt like we'd missed the point of being there; the cultural side, which is why we went back.

We were lucky to have Craig as our guide, his knowledge of culture, flora, fauna, geology and history was clear, and he managed to answer every question the group had.

Craig's passion for travel, people and learning was obvious, and consistent, whether it be first thing in the morning or the last thing at night.

The Red Centre leg was all about timing, with sunset and sunrise being game time, and there are many, many other buses out there trying to do the same thing. We were always first there, and often lady out, giving us the best unobstructed views and time to let it all soak in.

Swag camping under the stars is a special experience, and the equipment was of such good quality, it felt like we were home in bed, except with the milky way for our TV.

The Southern stretch of the Stuart Highway is an area we haven't travelled before, and Coober Pedy was pretty awesome! We had an underground museum tour included, and slept in an underground hostel, it was pretty cool!

For anyone looking to do Alice Springs to Uluru to Adelaide (or the same in reverse), this is hands down the best way to see it all, rather than flying and missing out on outback South Australia.

Landscapes are amazing here, and it’s beautiful because it’s a part of the country that holds valuable history. I went by myself and ended up creating a beautiful bond with the group, which was so dynamic. People of all ages and countries which I got to know on the campfires each night and during the hikes, such an interesting experience! Tourguide Craig was amazing with the group, I would totally recommend it. :)

The basis of this trip are the authentic camping moments; sleeping in swags under the bare night sky, VERY minimal reception (everyone needs this cleanse) and basic amenities in some instances. The destinations were surreal; our guide, Andrew, maintained a wonderful ethic, including making sure our group was one of the first to arrive at our destinations (strategically beating the crowds). Early rises are unavoidable, but they are a part of the experience, but after the amount of travel and activity, you will likely adopt an early bed time too! Some travel time can be arduous, but that is also a reality here. Andrew was conscious and made sure the travel time was broken up and alleviated by stopping at attractions of interest, so that we could get out and stretch and breathe fresh air, he was also very engaged and considerate of the wildlife, environment and country. Exercise is a big part of this experience too; our largest hike was a 7.4km trail so make sure you are fit and able, as they do include steep rocky inclines/ declines. The food surpassed all our expectations; it has variety and is healthy, fresh & yummy. Our only niggle was that we would have loved to have had more time noodling for opals in Coober Pedy, as that's what the town is famous for! But nonetheless; do this tour if you love adventure, being outdoors and experiencing nature. If you are a team player, enjoy collaboration and going back to basics, then this is thumbs up. Cheers! - 'The Internationals'

Just finished Alice Springs to Adelaide 6 day tour. The trip consisted of 11 females and 1 male travellers. Our tour guide Mark and the Groovey Grape bus Ernie kept us moving.

Camping outback underneath the stars, viewing Uluru close distance, hiking through the king canyon, and making new friendships are some of my highlights during the trip.

What made the trip extra special was our tour guide Mark. His knowledge of the outback, his sense of humour, being patient, his communication and organisation skills made this tour more worthwhile.

This trip is a must if you are planning on doing the tour.

Travelled alone on a group tour with like-minded people from all different backgrounds. By the time we got to Adelaide we were a family.

Our tour guide, Craig, was a top bloke, and thoroughly knowledgeable about the area, its flora and fauna, things which you'd walk/drive past ordinarily without giving it a second glance, whereas Craig would have a fascinating story or fact about it!

Whether camping under the stars at Uluru or living with the mole people of Coober Pedy, it was a wonderful tour that will stay with me for many years.

Smooth booking process with flexible options made Groovy Grape Tours the only choice for me...and you too!

My three month walkabout in Australia is almost over, and the best memories are from the two tours with Groovy Grape tours. Alice Springs to adelaide and then the great Ocean Road.
What an adventure, from the interior desert to the rain forest of the Ocean Road to the coastal drive, and even some wine tasting along the way. CANT be beat! Camping under the stars, hostels that I would go back to in a heart beat, but most of all the knowledgeable and very out going guides. In my case I had Craig for both trips, and I cant say enough about Craig or The Company, Groovy Grapes. They Dont cut corners when it comes to food and fun like some of the other companies I have toured with in my three months here in Australia. Definitely will be the highlights of my extended holiday. Dont have a second thought about touring with Groovy.

What an amazing trip. From the warmth of Alice Springs down to the cool of Adelaide. Activity packed tour given the kilometres covered, with
never a dull moment. Shane, our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and ensured all were catered for, keeping us all fed and watered. Walks not for the faint hearted but not overly strenuous for a group ageing from teens to 65. Hard to pick out a hi light but sitting around a campfire and sleeping in swag bags under the stars, magic.
By the way we are in our 60s. Would love to do it all over again!
