What to Expect
Your tour of the Sydney Opera House gives you an insider's perspective on one of the world’s most famous performance venues, where more than 1,500 concerts, ballets, musicals and plays are staged every year. Check out areas that are off-limits to the general public, learn about the distinctive exterior design made up of ‘shell’ tiles, and hear about opera house’s Danish architect, including his inspiration and building challenges. Walk through the elegant foyers, visit one of the largest pillar-free chambers in the world, sit down in a custom-made white birch chair and look up at the vaulted ceiling.

Explore in depth during your 1-hour tour with a knowledgeable guide, who shares fun facts about the opera house’s history, architecture and the thousands of performances that have taken place there since it opened in 1973.

Portside Sydney tasting plate:
Upgrade your tour to include a tasting plate for two at the Portside Sydney, an indoor-outdoor gourmet cafe on the lower level of the opera house plaza, where you can relax on the patio before or after your tour and enjoy spectacular views of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge. The 3-tier tasting plate includes dishes such as sushi, plank-roasted salmon, mini wagyu and chicken burgers, dumplings and fries. You may purchase cocktails, beer or perhaps of glass of Australian wine to accompany your food (own expense).

Opera Bar Dining Option
With the Sydney Opera House as its backdrop and gun-barrel views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, it is not surprising that Opera Bar has become a favourite Sydney experience. Live like a local and join us for a meal at Opera Bar after your tour. We've picked our favourites - beer battered fish & chips, roasted cauliflower salad and Jack's Creek Angus rump. You may purchase cocktails, beer or perhaps of glass of Australian wine to accompany your food (own expense).

Not worth it

I would give this one a miss. We thought we’d get to see behind the scenes etc but most of it was a quick look in some of the theatres then sit and watch a very boring video.
