Make your own way to Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures, around an hour’s drive from Sydney. After meeting your instructor, you’ll be introduced to the club’s equine residents and matched with a suitable horse – there are 200 horses of a variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments, so you’ll be sure to find the perfect partner, even if you’re a complete beginner.
Before heading out on the trails, enjoy time to get to know your horse, and learn the basics of stopping and steering under the guidance of an expert instructor. Rides are tailored to the group’s level, so you might enjoy a leisurely ride through the countryside, soaking up the scenery and spotting local wildlife, or for more experienced riders, have chance to trot, canter, or tackle more challenging terrain.
For riders with suitable experience, it may even be possible to enjoy free-range riding and explore the private ranch independently (levels are assessed by the Yard Manager on the day, but a rough guide is riders who have ridden at least 50 times).
After safely returning to the stables and bidding your horse farewell, your tour finishes back at the Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures center.
