Overview

Fly above Hawaii’s active volcanoes, black sand beaches, and waterfalls on this helicopter tour from Hilo. Spot Kilauea and Mauna Loa volcanoes, Halemaumau Crater, and other sights within the island’s national park. Choose from two state-of-the-art helicopters that prioritize your safety, comfort, and view of the scenery. With a morning or afternoon flight, and helicopter choice, this tour can suit your needs and budget.

What to Expect

For this Hawaii Volcanoes National Park helicopter tour make your own way to the Hilo Heliport. Once you’re there, board the helicopter type you picked at checkout—either an ECO-Star or A-Star.

The ECO-Star offers a spacious interior, more than 60 square feet of viewing glass and theater-style back row seating for a better view. The A-Star features bench-style seating and 50 square feet of viewing glass. Both are flown by Blue Hawaiian's pilots and maintained by Blue Hawaiian's technicians.

Put on headphones for commentary as you go, and take flight. You’ll soar high above Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to see the active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa. Catch sight of Hawaiian waterfalls, Halemaumau Crater, and the Hamakua Coast, too.

At the end of this Hawaii helicopter flight, land back at the heliport, where you can decide what to do next during your stay in the Aloha State.

Terrific pilot, great perspective on the Volcano

The views and lava flow pattern from the air give you a unique perspective on the path of the recent Volcano. Best way to see what the Volcano has done to the geology of the big island. Our pilot was very knowledgeable. Great ride. Thanks!

Once in a lifetime experience!

Went on a helicopter tour for the first time with our family, hoping to see some of the volcano activity. We were not disappointed!. Crazy! Great pilot (Corey) and great time.

Lava and Excitment

This was a fun way to see the Lava! They defiantly make sure that everyone gets to see the lava. It is also interesting to see how much has been destroyed from the flow of the lava.

We were in the A-star and it holds 6 adult passengers. The Eco-star should hold the same.
