Overview
On this Kealakekua Bay kayaking and snorkeling tour, your guide leads you to the best spots and all equipment is included. Paddle past rugged sea cliffs and caves toward the monument to Captain Cook, learning area history along the way. Spot dolphins splashing in the water, and perhaps turtles and humpback whales, too. Marvel at the temples on shore, and snorkel in the clear waters of the Big Island's west shore.
What to Expect
Having chosen the tour length that works for you, meet your guide at the selected time in the town of Honalo. After a safety briefing, board your kayak and head out toward the Captain Cook Monument and Kealakekua Bay.

While paddling, listen as your guide points out and explains the coast's features, from the towering sea cliffs of Pali Kapu o Keoua to Napoopoo Beach, and the ancient remnants of Kaawaloa village. Keep an eye out for Hawaiian spinner dolphins splashing and leaping by the shore. In winter, you may also spot humpback whales breaching in the distance.

Upon arrival at the Captain Cook monument, pull your kayak up on the shore and embark upon a scenic hike before snorkeling in the waters of Kealakekua Bay. Enjoy lunch or a snack by the monument (depending on tour selected) before paddling back to Napoopoo Landing where your tour concludes.

My husband and I spent our first day in Hawaii with Mal as our guide on the 3.5-hour kayaking/snorkeling tour at Kealakekua Bay. It was amazing! I am the world's worst kayaker, but the bay was gentle enough for me to paddle across without incident....More

Great paddle to Captain Cook for snorkeling

We had a great morning paddling across Kealekekua Bay with Izakaya and Jesse. The snorkeling is fantastic there, and going with Aloha Kayaks is a no-brainer. Much nicer than going on one of the big crowded boats-and you even get some Hawaiian history thrown in...More

Isaiah and his brother did a great job narrating and guiding our kayak tour. We also received personalized attention and tips, including recommending where to snorkel next and showing us where to pick up a picnic before we went there. The tour itself was beautiful,...More

Island Time

First, I must say I read the previous reviews and was a bit nervous prior to our trip. Luckily, our guides both showed and we had an amazing day. There is definitely an issue with the management of this company but that is not the...More
