Overview

Learn about the maritime history of Cobh during this walking tour, created by historian Dr. Michael Martin. As the last port of call for the Titanic and a port that received survivors of the sinking of the Lusitania, this town played an important role at different moments in history. Limited to a small group, the tour has an intimate atmosphere.

What to Expect

Meet your guide at the entrance to the Commodore Hotel in Cobh. Created by the historian Dr. Michael Martin, this walking tour was designed to highlight the town’s fascinating maritime history.

Explore the heritage town of Cobh, once the main departure point for millions of Irish emigrants to the U.S., while learning about the town’s history. Cobh was the last port of call for the Titanic and received survivors after the sinking of the Lusitania during World War I.

As the guide shares stories, stroll through the town to see historic buildings, piers, and monuments.

It's only about an hour or so, not a lot of walking. You just stand at a few different sites and listen to the history.
