About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- eckkinsella0 contributionsBrilliant tripGreat trip with a great host, who was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The boat driver was here good too getting us up close to the cliffs and caves. This is an excellent way to get out on the water, learn a little about yhe area and local history but not have to spend the whole day doing it. Just the right amount of time for kids, too.Written 14 November 2024
- Doug R0 contributionsEnjoyed being on the water!!🤠Weather didn’t permit us the full experience but the crew played music and did a good job of narrating the surrounding area.Written 19 October 2024

- casacav0 contributionsPerfect introduction to DingleAmazing views from the bay! This was a great 1 hour boat tour, narrated along the way and ending with tunes on the accordian, prompting a few passengers to try their Irish dancing skills! A perfect introduction to Dingle. - leoniesB595ME0 contributionsAmazing scenery, Dolphins & minke waleIt was a perfect trip! Brandon gave some interesting information on the area, cliffs etc. The scenery was amazing. The captain was very experienced, so we could see dolphins, a minke wale, penguins and lots of other birds. Even without the animals it would be worth doing this tour.Written 3 October 2024
- audreyrO2645ZP0 contributionsPure magic! It was the best experience ever! It was a great boat, the captain was superfriendly and told us everything about the surroundings and had some great stories about the locals. He knew exactly were to spot dolphins and we were so lucky to see many of them. It was magical. The captain gave us all the time we needed to observe the dolphins and to make pictures. Because the weather was great we got to go close to the cliffs. And at the end there was some life music. A magical experience. I wish I could go again today.Written 1 October 2024

- Eric N0 contributionsDive into the beauty of Dingle bayAbsolutely Breathtaking Sunset Cliff Tour If you’re ever in Dingle, do yourself a favor and book a private cliff tour with Dingle Dolphin Boat Tours. My experience with them was nothing short of incredible. We opted for a sunset tour, and it was the perfect way to take in the stunning cliffs as the sun dipped below the horizon. The water was nice and calm and only a gentle breeze was blowing. Our guide, Tip, was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly. He made us feel right at home on the boat and provided fascinating insights about the local landscape and history. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and it really added to the whole experience. And then there was Bruce, our skilled captain. His ship-handling was superb! Navigating the waters with ease, he made us feel completely safe while bringing us up close to the most spectacular views. Watching Bruce maneuver the boat was like watching an artist at work – simply amazing. The combination of Tip’s warm hospitality and Bruce’s expertise made this private charter an unforgettable adventure. We were awestruck by the beauty of the cliffs and the sheer magic of seeing them at sunset. I can’t recommend this tour enough 10/10. Come experience why Dingle is known as a special place for yourself. Dive right in and take the plunge with Bruce and Tip and the rest of the gang at Dingle Dolphin Boat Tours - you won’t be disappointed.Written 24 September 2024

We had beautiful weather which made the trip even better. An added bonus was a wonderful talk by our boatman telling us all about the area geography, history and some great stories. He finished by getting out his accordion and playing us some amazing Irish music, what a treat!Written 20 September 2024

We would highly recommend Dingle Dolphin Boat Tours if you want to go out to see Fungi the Dolphin. We did a private tour which was extremely worth while and allowed us access to all sides of the boat while not having to worry about social distancing. Devassa, our guide, was fantastic along with the skipper who excellently maneuvered the boat to give us great views of Fungi. Devassa was great at spotting Fungi and directing us to where we could see him best while also providing us with interesting facts about the surrounding areas, things to do and local places to eat.
We would highly recommend this tour and if you can afford to do the private tour, even better. We are already looking forward to our return.

Absolutely brilliant tour and great value for money. Our tour guide / boat staff made sure that everyone saw Fungie, and was very funny and informative.
Due to covid restrictions each booking was given a section of the boat and you had to stay in the section, which was very good. The only critique I had was that there were COVID-19 signs on the boat stating that the maximum amount of passengers allowed was 12, and there were over 20 on board which made me slightly uncomfortable. However everyone stayed in their section.
Overall we had a great time and would definitely book again!

This is one of the best experiences as a family we ever had.The boat guide was so friendly(The Adam Patricia boat)organised us on the boat safely, covid measures in place.Safety procedures briefed out.Our guide Bob was so well informed about dolphins and so engaging in telling us about dolphins, his own experiences with fungi over the years and the importance of these beautiful mammals being in their natural habitat.I would recommend everyone to have this experience in their life and to have a guide and skipper like we had today was just the icing on the cake!!We got to see fungi the dolphin and we were ecstatic, no matter young or old fungi has the same effect on everyone just pure happiness to see him. Thanks Bob and Skipper Adam.

Myself and my husband booked this trip online before going on an overnight stay to dingle. Im obsessed with dolphins and whales so was so excited for this trip. The boat took roughly 15 people and is socially distanced seating wise with handgel provided before and after the trip, boat was also sanitised before we boarded. The trip lasted 1 hour from time we boarded to time we disembarked. The boat goes out of the harbour and toward the mouth of the sea where fungie is known to hang about. The boat is joining roughly four to five other boats all out in same area so its very hard to see fungie as he comes out of the the water for seconds and back under again. We did get three pictures of him but not great ones as no mask wearing was required and so moving to side of boat where dolphin was coming up was difficult as people were standing there, we think if masks were required it would have been easier as all people would have all been able to go to whatever side fungie was on. We did enjoy the trip as scenery is stunning and we love boat rides anyway however we think if boats would not all be out there together we would have had a far better chance of seeing fungie properly and maybe for longer periods too. If going again would probably book an very early morning tour that goes out when not many boats are out there.

Pretty much the worst experience we have had!
Eight boats chasing one dolphin for over an hour. It appeared it was a race to see which boat could get closest to the poor dolphin. With the eight plus boats working together to make a channel between the boats and rev their engines to make the dolphin breach. This was tantamount to harassment and something I have never experienced before.
How you can guarantee seeing a wild animal I’m not sure- that’s not how nature works. If you have any love for these beautiful marine mammals do not go on this tour. If you want to pay someone to harass a creature for to line their own pockets, then work away.

With the very easy booking system we set off on our drive from Tralee to Dingle , if you park near the SuperValu you are within a short walk to the office which is located right beside the statue of Funghi .
When we arrived my little boy who is 9 was very nervous and had questions which the girl on the desk was so understanding about and was more than happy to help him .
On boarding the boat , Bob was amazing , my little boy got super nervous and asked me to get him a life vest , I explained to Bob the situation and he was so accommodating , not a problem at all when the skipper comes down we will organise that for you little man . This made him settle . When Adam our skipper arrived Bob explained all this to him and Adam came out with the life vest , happy child had arrived , albeit still nervous .
We set off for our hunt for Funghi and it wasn’t log until we found him . We were reminded of social distance at all times and there were hand held available for use on board .
We played a racing game with another boat which Funghi seemed to love and he put on a show for us , we went out a little further and it was a little choppy which meant the boat rocked a bit , to us it was fine but my son didn’t like that part at all and got really upset . And of course he had questions he needed answering as to why the boat rocks , again Bob was there again to explain that he was perfectly safe , and why the boat rocks and once he knew the answers he was perfectly fine . It was a great hour , at the cost of less than €50 for our family of four . We enjoyed it so much that both kids wanted to do it again and this time we had a great time as my son was so much more relaxed after the first experience and help from Adam and Bob . So a big thank you to them for their understanding . We will definitely use you again .

Booked the '12 Passenger family private trip' to go and see Fungi. We travelled as 2 adults and 3 kids (8,6 & 3). Due to covid 19 we weren't keen on taking the boat trip with others so booked this tour for ourselves. The trip can accommodate up to 12 people, typically as a family we would have paid roughly €60 but for €120 total we had the boat all to ourselves. We had a driver and 1 other member of crew on board with us, there wer sanitisation stands and also plenty of guidance wrt covid 19. The trip itself was 1 hr long. It was absolutely brilliant! We wer blessed with the weather & the highlight was seeing Fungi on more than 1 occasion. The lady crew member showed us certain areas of interest around Dingle Bay and the kids wer so entertained, all the boats wer working together to get Fungi to surface & it was a great bit of sport. I would highly recommend Dingle Dolphin Boat tours!

Fungie came right up to the boat, next to where I was seated. The tour operator was so friendly and pointed out where Fungie was. Social distancing was maintained as we queued, boarded the boat and for the duration of the trip. Would definitely go again.

Ridiculously good value for money. Highly recommend this tour. The lady told me her name but I forgot it sorry. She was so knowledgeable about Funghi as you would expect but also about the lighthouse and surrounding areas. Her passion for her job was evident even though it was the last tour of the day for her. As a Dub the banter was great craic too. We saw Funghi so many times. Our skipper was the best of all the skippers there and we got Funghi swimming right up along side the boat several times. Our tour was actually the smallest tour of all the boats that went out. I saw the skipper wipe down all handrails etc in between tours too. There was perspex in between the two sides of the boat and we were kept in our groups even though my Mam kept wandering over to the other side in excitement. You don't have to wear a mask if you don't want to as we are outdoors. The whole tour took over an hour and it was great value for money. Loved it.

Hi Natasha,
I thought it was all year round but I’m not 100% sure because when you’re out on the water it very cold and we went in July, worse case scenario just give them a quick call - they’re really lovely people. Maybe Fungie’s gone on holiday too to hotter climates haha.

Do tours run in February? All I can see in availability is a couple of weeks in October.
Written 20 October 2019
Not sure but I would say that is seasonal only - quite chilly in Ireland now (Nov) so I can imagine Atlantic Coast off Dingle would be too chilly for sea tours?

Hi, we are planning to drive from Galway to Dingle to take 2 pm boat tour on Sep 19th, 2019. Because, it is long drive and we may not make it in time, I don't want to book the 2 pm tour beforehand. Is it possible to buy tickets at the time. What are the crowds like at that time of the year? I would appreciate a quick response, please.

Hard to say 100% but there is a good chance you can get last minute spots for just 2 people, as another responder said there is another tour company that offers rides out to see Fungie

We were in Dingle last week and did the 12 o clock boat tour and our boat only had 10 people on board (can hold 40) but the next trip was full, To be honest it's pot luck, the staff are very friendly helpful so I suggest ringing them to explain the situation and they will do everything they can to accommodate you
