After some unpleasant and difficult dealings with Sunshine Tours we came upon at Star Tours and their representative Karen. Karen was prompt, informative and easy to talk to via email and WhatsApp making the booking process transparent and straightforward! The day prior Amer our guide contacted us via WhatsApp and we confirmed all the while feeling confident in our tour booking. The morning of the tour a vehicle with Sunshine Tours signage arrived at our hotel driven by Amer to pick us up. Confused we inquired and were to learn that Sunshine Tours is the mother company for Star Tours and Landscape Tours along with other companies. However, there were different office people at each company that one would deal with, ironically, they all sat side by side in the same office. Skeptical we set off on an overnight tour to Jebel Sams! Amer was a safe driver as we navigated our way to Forts and Souks in a modern comfortable SUV all the while listening to Amer’s comprehensive Narration. Amer was very accommodating to my disability and we adjusted the tour to suit our requirements at each stop. While we did not do the hike at Jebel Sams, the views are spectacular and what we came to see. Overnight at Sama Sama resort we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the upgraded Mountain View Cabin we had requested and paid extra for. The hotel buffet dinner was adequate and tasty, BBQ Camel Skewers suited the desert exotic experience with a different cuisine palate! Karen from Star Tours would check in with us each day to make sure all was good with us and our experience. The tour was exactly what we had hoped for, and with the exception of the skeptical start and not understanding the Mother Company’s “Sunshine Tours” hierarchy in the business we had a delightful experience. From Karen in the office to Amer our guide and driver our experience was top notch and highly recommendable!

We had planned a 9-day tour through Oman for February and sent Star Tours an email with our wishes. Within 1.5 hours, we received an email from Karen with a complete proposal. We booked the flights and adapted the program in a few steps. Karen always responded at very short notice. In the end, we received an attractive offer, including all transfers, a hotel booking in the desert camp and the booking for a Sunset Dow Tour with all entries included as well as a 4WD vehicle and water. Simply great! Thank you, Karen! Ahmed Alghammari, our tour guide, was waiting for us at the airport and took us to the hotel. The next morning, right on time, the Muscat tour started with the first stop at the Grand Mosque and the Opera House. Here it became clear that Ahmed is an excellent expert on Omani history. His explanations opened doors for us to understand the culture and history of Oman. The tours were very flexible, here a little longer, there quickly further and if something was near the route, an unplanned stop. Apart from Muscat, we visited Barka Fish Market, Nakhal Fort + Hotspring, Rustaq. A 3-day tour went to Bimmah Sinkhole, Wadi Shab , Sur Dhow Factory, Wahiba Sand Desert with a night in the Arabian Oryx. From there via Al Hamra and Misfath to Jebel Akhdar. After an overnight stay, we continued on to Nizwa, Souq+Fort, Birkat Old Village, Irrigation of Al Kattmyn, Samail Castle and back to Muscat. After that, we deserved a day of rest. Finally, the Sunset Dow Tour and the transfer to the airport. Ahmed was always friendly, helpful and an excellent guide. We had to say goodbye to our friend Ahmed. We went on a 3 + 1 day trip to Oman and book a private tour with Star Tours Oman. Me, my wife and my 2 kids, aged 8. It was an amazing trip. Our tour guide, Hamood, was fantastic. Lots of knowledge on the country and culture and also super entertaining with our kids. The tours are very flexible, totally tailored to what we wanted. Our guide would pick us from the hotel and drop us there at end of day. We visited Muscat, some of the Wadis, beaches, historical places, local markets and the sand desert. We would definitely recommend him and Star Tours.

We booked three full day tours with Star Oman Tours. Day 1: Sultan Qaboos Grand mosque - Royal Opera House - Shatti Qurum Beach - Fish Market - Mutrah Souq – Muttrah Corniche- Al Alam Palace - Bait Al Zubair Museum - Parliament Photo stop. Day 2: Nakhal Fortress, Nakhal Hotspring, Wadi Bani Awf, Bilad Sayt Day 3: Nizwa Fort – Nizwa Souq - Bahla Fort – Jabreen Castle The first two days we had Waleed as our tour guide, while the last day was with Said Al Kiyumi. The communication with Star Oman was great from the start. Quick responses, very clear about what to expect, flexible to accommodate start times, switch days, etc. The sites, themselves, require no review. They were all beautiful and worth visiting. TripAdvisor has separate reviews for the sites. What I can say is the tour company delivered, and I would use them again. In particular, it was clear Said really wanted us to experience his beautiful country, and inquired many times throughout the tour what else he could do for us, and whether there was anything else we wanted to see. This was on top of a 10-hour tour day! We really appreciated his enthusiasm and willingness to do that. Hotel pickup was exactly as planned. Each night, we received texts vis WhatsApp to confirm the next day’s pick-up time, and whether we wanted any changes. Extremely flexible. We really enjoyed the three days of touring with Waleed and Said and definitely recommend Star Oman Tours. *****

What a beautiful way to spend my second day in Oman. I really enjoyed climbing and swimming in the pools and caves. And more importantly thanks to Jihad for being a great guide - very kind and helpful making sure I was safe at all times. We had a lot of fun exploring the area.
