Try the Southern blend - you will love it!
A really lovely experience. We kayaked along the coast and then over to Adele island where we sat in the sunshine with a freshly made coffee courtesy of Griff our fabulous guide. Griff gave us lots of information about Abel Tasman National Park and took us to see both adult and baby seals. We then kayaked back to Observation beach where we sat an ate our packed lunch before we walked back to Mārahau. It was an amazing way to spend the day and we highly recommend it.

      Very helpful and smooth process!
An amazing time! We were a little worried about getting our way around but everyone was very informative and helpful. It was amazing to be able to explore at our own pace and we were able to see the beautiful beaches and even some seals! The drop off and pick up was very smooth and when we made it back to shore for drop off, not even 5 minutes later someone was there to pick us up. I would recommend to anyone wanting a little exercise and adventure!

      Fantastic - highly recommended!!
Our family booked a guided Classic Marine Reserve day trip. Our guide - Ella- was superb - both very professional and safe as well as great company!! We had a fantastic day - we saw lots of fur seals and a little blue penguin too which made it very special! The day finished with us all raising a spinnaker between our kayaks and sailing back to the beach in style (and a lot of laughter!!). Highly recommend - thank you Ella!!

      Great experience
We had an excellent day, we visited several beaches and we saw birds and seals. The instructors are friendly and explain everything very well before starting the ride. The kayaks are very well equipped. The best way to go along the coast of Abel Tasman Park

Afternoon Delight lived up to its name
What a fabulous afternoon kayaking from Observation beach back to Mārahau. We chose the afternoon delight guided tour leaving at noon, water taxi to the beach for lunch then off. We saw seals on Adele island then paddled to Stilwell beach for a delicious hot chocolate and swim. Back into the kayaks, into a cave or 2 before the afternoon breeze picked up enough to raft all the kayaks together and hoist a sail which took us back most of the way home. Lovely relaxed afternoon made special by excellent staff. Highly recommend.

      Great guided half day kayak
Thanks for a really great guided afternoon kayak. We can recommend the trip from observation bay beach back to Marahau. Kayaking around Adele and Fisherman's island was a highlight - lots of seals and interesting beaches. Just be prepared for a solid kayak back to Marahau. Thanks so much to Ella for being a great guide - very friendly & relaxed with lots of good info about the area. Week definitely be back for another trip.

Family-owned sea kayak experience, I loved it!
Great service! I booked the day before..just ringing Tony..he was so helpful and friendly and accommodating. Philip and Georgia were excellent tour guides. They get along well, have got their own area of expertise and shared it with us fellow paddlers.. we learnt about birds, local history and geology while paddling! We felt very safe too as they accepted to turn around a bit earlier following their boss’ recommendation over the talkie walkie. I also enjoyed the prep time before and social time afterwards. We paddled for 3 hours and I was gently sore the next day!

Friendly guides who find the seals!
We found this locally owned company friendly, knowledgeable and competent. We did the one day Serenity tour, which is a perfect blend of all Abel Tasman has to offer: beaches, hiking, wildlife and kayaks. Our guides knew the spots, so we saw lots of seals, feeding, grooming and chilling, a fun arch pass through, and a perfect latte on the beach! We got the right amount of guiding but also freedom to linger. Would go with them again.

      Fantastic day out
Fantastic day out. Would definitely recommend even in the off season, as we were toasty warm in our kayaks and had the national park virtually to ourselves. Thank you to Brad, who went out of his way to make sure we were safe, comfortable and having fun. Highlight was interacting with some curious sea lion pups!

      Amazing Kayaking Experience !
Absolutely amazing experience for our family on the water today! Up close and personal with seals, dolphins and sting rays. Coffee and hot chocolates on a deserted sandy beach. Stunning scenery. Brad was an awesome, knowledgeable and down to earth guide. Absolutely 100% recommend :)

      Great Experience and Guide
We had a great half-day kayaking with an excellent guide. She was very personable and knowledgeable, related to everyone in the group and made sure they had a great experience. All equipment in very good condition and we had a full safety and training briefing that covered all the essentials but was still fun. Highly recommended.

We had a great experience with Kahu kayak. Staff are super friendly. It was our first ever kayak experience with little swimming skill. At first, we were quite anxious but our super helpful guide (Kurt) made us relaxed and made our trip so memorable. He was so patient in guiding us. The kayak ride was around 1 hour each side. When we arrived in the split apple rock beach, he made us a perfect coffee and gave us some time to swim and play. He even arranged a game for us that was so fun. In summary, Kurt did far beyond his job and we are very thankful for that. This is a must do actively in the Northern part of South Island and Kahu kayak is a great and trusted place for that. Highly recommended!

We’ve booked a half-day family package with Brad and what an incredible time we’ve had.
Not only Brad was very knowledgable about all wildlife and the best spots to go to, but he was also friendly and professional with both kids and adults.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time and will definitely recommend them to our friends and family.

We had a great time kayaking with our family of five. Our guide Harvey was very experienced, knowledgeable and fun with our kids. Tour is lovely and goes until the split apple rock beach and back after a nice coffee break. Spotted penguins and eagle rays. Then went on by water taxi to anchorage beach. Super well organised and Danny made it a perfect boat ride for the kids. Thanks for a very enjoyable day.

From start to finish this was a great day! We were a bit reluctant to do a guided tour being experienced kayakers but Brad was a great guide having us laughing at his cheeky jokes all day, telling us about the area and the pointing out different spots and he makes the best hot drinks! From a portable frother on the beach no less! There were only three of us on the tour that day and a second guide learning the ropes for summer so it was more like a morning out with friends than a guided trip. We hiked the trail back to Marahau which made for a great day! I'd definitely go back!

Can highly recommend Kahu kayaks. They were effective and so helpful even though we made last moment plans and made the booking in a bit of a rush on the very same morning of the kayak trip. As we were on the phone doing the booking, one of the Kahu instructors happened to be around and ended up giving us a ride to the kayak centre. Too easy! The kayaking instructions were detailed and thorough, but told with humour. The guide only left us after making sure everyone is in the water in their kayaks and feeling safe and ready to depart on their own journey. We left at about 9:30 and got back to shore around 3:30 (instead of 4pm)and a Kahu person was already there waiting to receive the kayaks back in. Also they run a mini van between Marahau and Nelson, for $10 they take you to your doorstep basically.

We did the freedom kayak and walk one day trip. The kayaking route starts from Marahau and ends to Anchorage. The route was very beautiful and there are a lot of small beaches where you can land and have a lunch. We even had our own little private beach! There is a possibility to kayak to the island close by to see a seal colony, but unfortunately we didn't see but one seal. We did see an adorable blue penguin though! So worth the paddle.

The last bit around the small peninsula before reaching Anchorage is quite rough even on good weather, the waves can be a bit high and you will definitely get soaking wet!! But it is doable. However, if you are inexperienced or do not feel comfortable with bigger waves, I would recommend choosing the option to return the kayak to the same spot where you started, or returning the the kayak to the alternative ending point before the "mad mile".

Spent the day kayaking for my boyfriends birthday with 2 friends. We had 2 double kayaks and were lucky to have the most glorious weather. I was really surprised by the professionalism of the company. We were supplied with absolutely all the gear to keep up safe and comfortable even a safety flare in case of a real disaster. We had a full briefing on safety and how to get the most out of our day. The staff were friendly, funny and informative. We had the most fantastic day and I came away feeling so impressed with the company. Kayaks were in perfect condition as was a gear. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.
