    Hop on off Haugesund
One of the key attractions advertised the brochure was the Dokkin Museum. I got off at stop 5 as did a few other people. It is 10 min walk. We got to the museum and it was closed. We all walked back to the bus stop. When the bus arrived people started getting off but we told them that the museum was closed. Most got back on the bus immediately as there was no reason to stay. I talked to bus driver who just grunted. When I got back to the port I went to the hop on hut where I purchased the ticket. The guys seemed uninterested and said I should have checked with the tourist office first. If the museum was not on your preferred stopping location I understand but it clearly it is. I asked why the driver did not announced it was shut but they just shrugged. There were a number of elderly people trying to get to the museum only to find their walk was in vain. I am sorry but very poor service.

    complete and total rip off
what a rip off, 4 people 160 euro and what did we see nothing just drove around the back streets of haugesund looking at peoples houses, a school, a hospital , a monument, and thats it 30mins, free wifi on board total rubbish did not work , i would have had a better time if i took my 160 euro and just give it away to people in the main street of haugesund, instead of them thieves on the hop on bus taking me for a ride. so do yourselves a favour if your on a cruise just walk over the bridge into town or you can get the free shuttle bus but dont use the rip off hop on bus,

Hop on Hop off train - absolute rip off
This review is about the land train, which I believe is the same company. Please avoid at all costs. It's a complete waste of money - one of the "attractions" they point out is an old folks home!! Then you are taken around some residential areas, and shown 2 parks. Seriously....... don't use this! We wasted £76.44 and an hour of our lives that we'll never get back!

Please avoid - an Iona cruise passenger review
I was on a family holiday on the Iona cruise. We spent 2925NOK for 6 adults and 1 child for this hopoff and hopon tour. It's a 1 star experience overall, and for the price we paid I will certainly give 0 stars. The driver was not helpful either after arguing with a truck driver.

Poor Hop on Hop off experience
Stavanger HOHO bus. Two companies compete with similar service. We tried the local company. I can't say it was better or worse than the international company, but it wasn't very good Often commentary and sights were not synched. Commentary was well before the physical item came into view, or long after we had passed it. We passed numerous statues and landmarks with no commentary.. At $30 per person, it should be better

Hop on hop off (don’t do it )
Absolute rip off , we were charged £105 for a trip that was mostly in the town which is easily in walking distance from cruise terminal , shocking way to treat visitors to Norway !!!

Do not take the hop on hop off bus
Absolute waste of money & time . The city sightseeing areas are all in one big area of 5-6 km radius which can be covered by leisurely walking through than waiting for the bus to come for more than forty five minutes each stop . They do not have enough buses to manage the tourist business . I suspect that it is only one bus doing the rounds

Rip off; use the free shuttle service avaiable
There are 7 stops on this bus, number 1 and number 7 are the cruise terminal. Number 2 is a stop in town a short distance from the terminal. Number 2 to 3 take you thru the suburban area looping the town, and talks about cost of living, schools etc. There is a long way between 2 and 3 nothing really to see, but it bypasses a lookout that overlooks the town, which would have been interesting to see as it supposedly offers panoramic views of the city. Didn’t stop. Number 3 is a monument which the bus stops for ten minutes, so no need to hop on and off here, just get off the bus take photos then you’re back on the bus for stop 4. Number 4 is the start of town so we thought a good place to start to see the sights, that the hop on hop off map suggests you see. Once you finish this walk you’re basically at stop 6, then the next stop is the terminal. So really no need to go again. It cost Aus$ 65.00 per person for about 1/2 an hour once you get to stop 4. We found it a total rip off as we could have done that route in a taxi for much less. My husbands head set was not working so we had to share. Free on board wifi would not connect. We attempted to connect 3 different devices with no success. I advised this to the staff at the kiosk and he told me that if I mentioned this that the bus driver would have turned the router off then on. Yeah right, When I tried to connect it connected once then immediately dropped out and a notice came up that there were several networks trying to connect to the free wi fi so connection would be difficult. Plus you’ve probably got a whole bus trying to connect, We asked for our money back as we were unsatisfied and thought the whole thing was a rip off, but of course they refused. Brochure states tickets are non refundable. Spoke to a’supervisor’ who said she was not authorised to credit our money and I would have to contact customer service. Now let’s just say they agree to a miracle refund, I would have to give them my bank details for the refund (ain’t going to happen)when all the ‘supervisor’ in charge had to do was press the credit button on her machine. There is a free shuttle bus into the town centre from the cruise terminal which allows you to be dropped off in town and walk around and walk the waterfront. Do yourself a favour and save the 450 krono and use this free service. Your not going to see anything else that warrants the outlay of funds when there is a free shuttle available. Stop number 2 is where the free shuttle service drops you off.

Waited 1,5 hours for the bus to come then had to take a taxi. Take the competitor instead.
We went by bus to Fjellstua for lunch and then we had intended to continue our sightseeing by bus. After waiting for the bus for 1.5 hours, we gave up and took a taxi down to the center. When I contacted the company they responded quite rudely and they didn't answer my questions.

    Use The competitor instead
    1. The next bus never arrived after our hopoff and we had to take a taxi home 2. The customer support accused us of lying when we complained. PLEASE USE CITYSiGHTSEEING INSTEAD. THEIR BUSES WERE PASSING OK.

DO NOT USE THIS HOP ON HOP OFF
If I could rate this a ZERO I would. This was the worst hop on hop off experience I have had. I have used these buses in several other cities and always had a good experience. We had a family group with 80 year old grandparents with us. We chose this bus so we could all travel together around town with varying mobility issues. We waited over an hour to be picked up and watched the bus on the QR code gps app travel on roads that did not match the map and skip our stops. We were at two different stops and this happened both times. We finally called a cab for the grands and the rest of us walked. Our tickets said the bus ran until 6:30 but we watched from the balcony from 2:50-4:30 and not one bus came to the cruise port returning people. We are requesting a refund and urge you to NEVER use this company. We paid them for tickets in Alesund and Haugesand. The recorded dialog did not match where we were driving and the Wi-Fi was not strong enough to access. Use the company that has a train vehicle with cute open air cars instead in this town.

First of all the meet you at the pier from your cruise to sell you tickets . After you've paid, they then inform you that the tour stops by 4 to 4:30. They also tell you they have 6 busses when in fact the supervisor says they have 4. I wished we would have never booked with them. We booked for two days and after the first terrible day we asked for a refund and the kept skirting around it, acting like they never understood what we were asking. We literally only used the bus two times. They are late and there was alot of waiting around wasting time. One worker had a perfectly good bus sitting on the side of the stree not in service. What they were doing was parking on the other side of town in hopes to sell someone a ticket just to make it back to the boat.

Day two. Was waiting at the pier for over an hour and kept being told they were coming in 10 minutes every 10 monutes, until we got mad and took a taxi to the city. The manager drove up in that good bus and wouldn't let anyone on it made people wait another 20 minutes. Why couldn't we have boarded that bus. These people are swindlers and this bus ride is not worth it at all.

Ps. The other company's bus is similar but it says "city sight seeing " and this bus just says "sight seeing". That other company seemed better, their busses were all over. Their bus driver even said "good luck you'll be waiting a while".

Do not book with this company. Our two days in OSLO were wasted waiting on this bus.

Horrible service. Horrible timing. Do not do this as a cruise excursion. There is another company that looks identical called “city sightseeing” - ended up jumping to that company because “hop on hop of AS” was so bad. Once they have your money they do not care about your experience and only focus on waiting for long periods of time at each stop to sell more tickets. First stop we sat for 45 minutes and the second for over 30. The ENTIRE route with 10 stops was slated for 1 hour. It was two hours before we even got off at a first stop if interest. Horrible.

The one star reviews before mine say it all. Long wait times, ridiculously inane recording, rude staff. The 30 bus runs almost the exact route and costs a tiny fraction. DO NOT USE THIS TOURIST BUS. We’d had been better off on a bike. Or a scooter. Felt totally ripped off and actually wondered if we’d been scammed.

There are 2 companies operating very similar hop on hop off buses in Oslo. Most people are not aware of this. Every stop people were trying to get on the wrong bus which causes mayhem at busy times. Nothing is said about this when you buy tickets from the company salesmen when they pick up cruise passengers from the cruise terminal.
City Sightseeing run the other buses and responded to my messages straightaway when I was trying to work out which of the 2 companies operated our tour. I am still waiting for a proper reply from the company we actually used. 2 out of 3 of the buses we used did not have working outlets for the audio commentary. The buses were full so we could not change seats. The tours are not cheap. When you look at reviews for this sort of trip I think people automatically think they are on the City Sightseeing one.
Avoid the company that has the logo Hop ON AS on the side and provide yellow tickets and instead use the ones that say City Sightseeing and provide white tickets.

When we bought our ticket we were told buses ran every 15 minutes, at best they ran every 30 to 40 minutes. If you decide to take this you must be aggressive they do not stop unless you are by the door and they do not stop unless you wave them down. Our driver flew by a stop, we told him and he said he stopped he did not stop he hardly slow down.

Wasn't really impressed with this bus tour, guides at bus stops seemed uninterested in helping once we said we had pre-booked our tickets and were looking for stops. One guide sent us to an attraction that was closed. There is no information at the bus stops as to when the last pick ups are, leaflet said last pick up would be around 6, we got to a stop at 5 and when we checked the location of the bus on the QR code it looked like the buses had already stopped and were far away from the route so had to use public transport to get back. Onboard commentary didn't work on one bus - buses feel really outdated and uncomfortable seats. Have enjoyed this service in other countries but found this one in Oslo was quite poor. I would personally just use public transportation if in Oslo again as it is quite easy to get around on once got the hang of it.

The worst experience from so called Norwegian company and they claimed the other hop on hop off copied them but in reality they are just the worst ever ive experienced, the buses come very late, over 30 to 40 minutes wait; they only go one way so theres no return half through the tour. Also the headsets and the audio dont work half of the time.
Customer service is bad and theyre just a waste of time and money for tourists .

Absolutely the worsthop on hop off tour. That is 2 hours of my life I will never get back. No commentary, moved to another bus, waited 20 minutes for cruise passengers without awordof explanation and then I go off early because I just could not stand it a moment longer, never again

I have done several hop on tours in the US and Europe. This was the worst experience. The audio was so poor as to be unintelligible and the languages were not properly labeled. One driver flat out told us we couldn’t get on his bus and had to take the next one despite there plainly being space on his. I. Any day any of the drivers were friendly which is the opposite of what I had experienced on other hop on tours.

We bought two days ticket. The stops covered all the most important spaces to stop and visit. But during the first day, we had trouble finding the first meet-up point and no one we asked seemed to know where it was (we asked our hotel receptionist, and three people in the streets, and google maps did not have it on. We finally found it near the Opera House. Your signs are too small.
