Highlights
  • Visit Budapest from Vienna in a day without any transport planning or hassles
  • Relax and enjoy the scenery as you cross into Hungary by air-conditioned minivan or coach
  • See Budapest’s highlights without getting lost: including the Danube banks, Pest, and UNESCO-protected Buda
  • Learn about the city from a guide, and enjoy free time to shop, eat, and sightsee independently
What to Expect
Depart your central Vienna hotel by air-conditioned minivan or coach, and venture through picturesque countryside into Hungary. Pass the national Turul monument at Tatabanya. Please note you can also choose to meet at the starting point for this tour if you'd like. Once in Budapest, begin admiring the city. Straddling the River Danube with the medieval quarter of Buda on one side and commercial Pest on the other, Hungary’s capital is dubbed the “Paris of the East” for its handsome architecture and boulevards. View Danube-side landmarks such as the Hungarian parliament building and Chain Bridge, and enjoy a panoramic tour of the Buda Castle district—a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its cobbled lanes—Matthias Church, and Fisherman’s Bastion. Then, cross into Pest to view St. Stephen’s Basilica, Andrassy Avenue, and Heroes’ Square (Hősök tere), and other sights. Finish with free time to stroll independently, perhaps shopping, having lunch (own expense), or taking in other attractions. Afterward, return to Vienna, where a hotel drop-off concludes your trip.

The first of two tours with Royal Tours, I booked through TripAdvisor. This one was in a large coach, with a driver and a separate guide, Rene. Our bus had both the English and the Spanish speaking tourists. It somehow Reny managed to cater for...More

It wasn't a tour at all, it was a drive experience. Tour guide( how she defined herself) has no knowledge at all about the places, hardly speaks english, and wasnt motivated to make it an interesting tour. Shame on the company.

It is a van so no toilet. Its a 2 1/2 hour ride each way and we stopped at a rest stop in each direction. There were bathrooms everywhere we went basically, but remember it costs money to use public bathrooms in Europe.

There was a restroom on the bus I was on. It was a large coach. However, I think the vehicle all depends on the size of the group on any given day, so you may get a van... I wouldn't depend on there being a toilet. We... More
