Successful viewing of the Northern Lights
The trip was well-organized and enjoyable. Our guide, Valla, provided information and education about the Northern Lights and what to expect during our tour. We were very fortunate to see the Lights and witnessed a spectacular show! I appreciate their policy of allowing guests to return on another night free of charge in the event the Lights are not seen.

Beautiful Tour with a Knowledgeable Guide.
This was an excellent tour. Everything was very easy in terms of pickup and getting on our way. There are several pickup locations in Reykjavik which seem to be universal and make it simple to get hooked up on your tour. All seem to be close to the common hotels. We were picked up at the stop next to our hotel and then to the tour terminal. We departed from there. Our guide Dylan was super. His narration included the Iceland's history, geology, folklore, weather and he answered any questions asked on the tour. He was really knowledgeable. I liked his sense of humor and his willingness to try to adjust our day based on the weather and what would work best. Dylan kept us on time. We stoped at two of the biggest, most famous waterfalls (the names are in tour description and are too long to spell out right now) but also saw many not the route. We also stopped at the black sand beach (beautiful) and a glacier. The best part was the second waterfall which you can walk behind - but be warned, you will get very wet- bring a rain poncho. Amazing and beautiful. I recommend this tour. If you go, know it is a long day. I would not book on the same day as a northern lights tour. Also, have a good jacket and a rain poncho for the waterfall. My husband wore jeans over his thermals. I wore waterproof pants (also with thermals) and my coat. By the end of the day, we both all a bit soggy, so was most of our tour group. But the beauty was well worth the discomfort.

Great tour from Bjarni and Gunnar
Bjarni was the best guide we had in Iceland.he was full of insights into Icelandic life. He was passionate about glaciers waterfalls and the tectonic plates. It was great to meet a man so proud of his country. We felt very safe with Gunnar the driver who gave us a smooth experience all the way. This is a great tour.

Golden Circle & Fontana Wellness tour
The tour itself was magnificent! Our guide, Leifur, was a wealth of information during each of our stops as well as while in transit. All the stops offered incredible views and the Fontana Wellness stop (final stop) provided a much needed respite in the form of a thermal bath experience that was both relaxing and invigorating.

Give it a go but wrap up warm
The guide was great. She gave us great information about Iceland, we especially liked hearing about the newspaper building. The tour takes you to a very very cold spot so make sure to wrap up warm as you'll be outside for a long time hoping to see the lights. You can go back to warm up in the coach intermittently if you want to. I'd you do t see the lights you can rebook for free of time allows.

      Great tour
Many very interesting sights and experiences. Our guide Sigurdur was knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Iceland and protecting the environment. The glacier visit was a high point but it was all good. It's a long tour but you do know that when you book. The coach is comfortable and the views are amazing.

Really interesting and well paced tour. Loved the greenhouse and the tasty tomato soup. All the stops were great to visits and MaryAnn was an excellent guide offering a fun and friendly mix of knowledge and personal reflection. So many beautiful sights to enjoy

      Golden Tour direct with Marianne
Marianne was an excellent driver and also your guide, she knew everything there was to know on the tour, very informative. She was also a lovely lady and I believe I speak on behalf of the group she gave us the best experience of the Golden Circle.

Best way to see some of the beauty up close when time is short
This is a great way to see a little of the beauty and wonder of Iceland when you don't have time to explore in more detail and depth. The tour was well run, the guide's knowledge was excellent and gave us more than a few laughs along the way. And if you're wondering why you would want to see a greenhouse in Iceland (like I did), just do it - and try the tomato soup. They say its the best....and they're right :) The only down side for me personally is the general conveyor belt of buses and tourists tramping their way around the same spots en masse as evryone tries to see as much as they can is a short space of time. I hope the impact I and others make can be properly managed - if anyone can I expect the Icelandic can.

      A good tour
Everything went very smoothly from the pick up at the Hotel to being dropped off at the end of the Tour. The Coach was very comfortable and the Guide, Lasma, gave us plenty of interesting information during the journey but kept the balance between talking and quiet times about right. Every stop was busy with lots of coaches but there was a board in the windscreen of each bus showing the departure time.

      Friendly/Knowledgeable Guides, Well Organized Tour
We enjoyed a wonderful day on the “Into The Glacier” day trip with Reykjavik Excursions. Our guide on the bus, Dylan, and driver, Fabian, were so friendly and helpful and even added in a few extras on the way. Dylan’s description of the places we saw on the way to the glacier, the saga stories, and the history and culture of the country was so interesting. It’s clear that Dylan has a genuine interest in the history and folklore of Iceland, even recommending books for further reading for those who may be interested. They thoughtfully advised on where to buy food, when restroom stops would be coming up, etc. to ensure all of the guests were comfortable and enjoying the day. As the bus was coming back into Reykjavík, Fabian and Dylan were happy to drop guests at their hotels (if possible), rather than at the bus stops. We’ve taken several tours in Iceland and this one was well organized, with friendly and knowledgeable guides. I would absolutely book this tour again!

We booked this tour because we originally didn't think we were going to rent a car. When we did eventually rent a car, we decided not to cancel the tour because I really enjoy all the information you usually get from the tour guides, things you wouldn't know if you just drove on your own. I wish we had just driven it.
We started out on a small bus and visited the falls and the rift valley. While we were on the bus, the driver was our guide and he talked A LOT about ancient Icelandic history. That was somewhat interesting, but a little too much. Then when we got to our stops, he stayed on the bus and didn't get out with us to elaborate on the actual points of interest.
At the rift valley stop, we changed buses to a much larger bus with people from another tour, then we headed to the glacier. It was way too many people for a snowmobiling tour. The snow wasn't good, but that wasn't their fault...it was August, but the large number of snowmobiles trying to stay in a line wasn't very pleasant. At one point, a very large group of snowmobilers behind us headed off in a different direction (by accident) and the whole group had to wait for the leader to go find them.
If I had to do it again, I would just drive the golden circle and save $720 for a party of three. I think the snowmobiling would have been a lot of fun if the snow had been better; I just wouldn't recommend it in the middle of summer.

Booked this with the free cancellation option (no less than 24 hours before) and had to cancel 3 days prior to the booking as my husband broke his hand.

After looking at my statement, I was still charged the full price of the excursion (GBP405!!) and company are completely uncontactable after responding to say that they have cancelled the item on their end and they have not taken any fees/Viator are uncontactable.

I would not recommend using this method to book online.

Firstly we went in December in freakishly cold weather which was -21 so it was super cold and I lost the feeling in my toes early on. If you plan on going in Dec take gloves which you can touch your phone with because believe me you won't want to take your gloves off.

Temperature aside, the tour started on time, the tour guide was informative and the driver was great.

We visited the tectonic plates first in the national park, then went on to the geysers which was awesome, then ended with the huuuge waterfall which was great to see partly frozen too.

Then came the monster coach ( the only way to describe it) which took us deeper into middle earth/the moon. Then we took the snow mobiles over the glacier, when I tell you I haven't seen anything more beautiful! We stopped half way for a change in driver if you wanted then headed back.

Due to the temp my only negative would be that it would've been nice to have some hand/toe warmers given out, I'd worry about people not kitted out well or children/older people may have suffered.

There were cafes and restaurants at the stops to grab food too so you don't need to bring your own if you don't want.

I would recommend this tour, but if going in dec wrap up warm, then take more layers.

We had a fantastic day on this tour. We really enjoyed the sights of the golden circle and the snowmobiling was amazing! This was our favourite day of our trip. The guide was really helpful and told us interesting information along the way.
A few tips: Don’t expect an early return, we got dropped off about 8.15 because the snow was thick on our journey to and from the glacier.
Also food at the tourists sights was unsurprisingly expensive and there were lots of queues so if you can, bring your own food or get food earlier rather than later.

Brilliant day from beginning to end. The tour guide was brilliant - very knowledgable! We were given ample amount of time on each stop of the Golden Circle tour. We got some incredible pictures. The coach was spacious and comfy, even in the sub zero temperatures outside.
The snowmobiling was everything we wanted and more. The guys who were working at the glacier were very prompt - there was no waiting around and we were straight on the glacier. We had the full hour out on the glacier taking in the breathtaking views whilst out there. it was quite possible the coldest experience I have ever had, but certainly not one I will forget in a hurry.
Upon our return to the base, we were greeted to a private firework display. It really was a surreal experience!
I urge anyone going to Reykjavik to go on this tour!

On this Reykjavík expedition we were able to see beautiful Geysirs, Gullfoss waterfall (which is stunning) as well as the tectonic plates meeting point, so there is plenty of variety for everyone.

I met the coach at BSI bus terminal which was about 15 mins walk from the hotel I stayed at (the coach did drop us all outside our hotels on the way home which was a bonus). The coach was comfortable, had charge points and plenty of seats for us to all have some space. Our driver Simon was really polite and friendly and Albert our tour guide, was really knowledgeable and made the journey fun with lots of information about Iceland and at each stop point.

After stopping at all the above points (which with the drive to the National Park took about 5 hours), we then switched to a different coach with Iceland mountaineers in order to do the snowmobiling.

This was about a 50 min drive and we then stopped at a little hut to put on overalls and all the snowmobile clothing. Once we were all ready, we then drove further into the mountains to get to the snowmobiles. Another group was just coming back when we arrived, so it was cool to see them riding down the snowy slopes. We had a safety and instruction briefing and then paired up (I believe you have to pay extra at the clothing stop if you want to ride solo).

The snowmobile ride was really fun, although a little challenging at the top where there was a bit more ice. The guides would make sure we were spaced out enough and we would ride up and down the slopes. It took a few minutes to get used to the speed needed and the turns, but it’s pretty good once you get the hang of it.

We then stopped for 10 mins for photos and switched drivers. An hour sounds like it wouldn’t be enough, but it’s about right.
We then drove back to the bus and then back to the change point and back to our first coach.

This was an amazing tour- make sure to bring snacks and drinks as there are cafes were you stop at the view points but sometimes the lines are long with other coaches there so you end up having to cut it short to get back to the coach. Other than this, I can’t recommend it enough

Golden circle bit was good, but snowmobiles were great! The golden circle guide, Magret, was friendly, interesting and informative, pitching it just right. Then our driver and chief guide up on the glacier, Eynur, was excellent: driving the monster bus safely through soft snow, then teaching us and shepherding us on the snowmobiles. Friendly and welcoming at all times, and keeping us all safe. And the snowmobiling - it's a blast! Only thing: don't expect precision on the return time - in deep snow the final bus ride to the glacier and back takes as long as it takes, and I wouldn't want them to rush it. Got back to Reykjavik just before 8pm - but still in time for a northern lights hunt.

We recently did this tour in Iceland. It is a long day so be prepared with snacks and phone cord, the bus seats have USB charging ports. They provide all the gear (warm snow suit, gloves, heat covering, and helmet) for the snowmobile. We meet at the BSI to be transferred to a coach bus after being picked up in another bus from the bus stop in the city. We stopped at 3/4 stops to see waterfalls and geysers along the way, each had restrooms and food. Once we met the monster truck in glufloss then 45 minutes ride to base camp for gear then 20 minutes to mobiles, the actual ride was only 40 minutes. After finishing up and returning the gear, we had 1.5 hr ride back to town. Overall, I highly recommend this tour while in Iceland over riding the horses.

We loved all the amazing places this tour went to, waterfalls, geysers etc. The scenery is out of this world. The highlight of the day for us was definitely the snowmobiling. As a couple in our late sixties, we did wonder how we would manage, but it was no problem at all. We found the company that transported you to the snowmobiling and looked after you and guided you were really professional and great. Unfortunately our giant bus did get stuck in a snow drift, but this caused no problem, and he dug us out. As soon as we arrived there was a team waiting to kit us out in overalls, neck/face covers, helmets, gloves, and safety helmets. There was lots of help at hand, nothing was too much trouble. We had detailed instructions on how to handle the snow mobile, which was easy to follow. We followed one instructor, another was at the rear, and another was whizzing from front to back all the time to ensure everybody was OK and happy. The scenery was amazing!! When we stopped for a break and got off the snowmobiles, the snow was so deep, I couldn't keep my balance and fell, and having so many layers of clothes on made it difficult to get back up, but partly because I was laughing so much! We returned to base after about an hour. A trip never to be forgotten, and I can only hope we return to do it again some day. It was certainly a very full and busy day with lots of travel, but so worth it.

My reason for only giving it 4 stars not 5 was our guide. He had a tendency to drone on, non stop, and repeating instructions as if we were 4 year olds. This was the overall tour guide, and he did not accompany us on the snowmobiling part of the tour. That part was 6 out of 5!

This was absolutely one of the biggest highlights of our trip. A very long, busy, but rewarding day, the itinerary included a visit to Geyser, then a changeover at Gullfoss waterfall for a trip to Langjokull glacier for snowmobiling, back to Gullfoss to see the waterfall itself, and then finally stopping at Thingvellir national park. All of the sights were truly amazing, and it was nice to drive around the golden circle as part of a smaller, more intimate group (we were on a minibus rather than a big coach).

The only thing knocking a star off was the snowmobile experience itself. This part of the trip took approximately 3 hours which included a transfer to the glacier base camp (admittedly on an awesome coach with monster truck wheels), about an hour on the snowmobile itself, and all the safety gear, instructions etc. My lack of skills on the snowmobile aside, in hindsight I'd much rather have had those extra three house back to better explore the other places we visited, as we didn't have much time to take everything in.

However, I want to end on a positive and it was really our driver - Bjarni Gaukur Þórmundsson (Or "BG") who made the trip for us. Each journey from place to place was filled with his wonderful commentary which included information about the various sights and landscapes we were passing, information about the history and culture of Iceland, and also with some of his own anecdotes which added a personal touch to it all. You could really hear the passion in his voice and I wish we could have had him on all of our other trips too.

Thank you BG for making the trop so special.
