Overview
Adventure through the dramatic landscape of Iceland during this full-day tour of the southern coastline. Explore lava fields, icebergs, and glaciers with help from a friendly, knowledgable guide. Visit the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls and stop by the small village of Vik. Roundtrip transportation to and from selected locations in central Reykjavik is provided.
Highlights
  • See Iceland’s south-coast highlights on a day trip from Reykjavik
  • Explore with a guide for background on each sight
  • See Seljalandsfoss and Skogafass waterfalls, glaciers, and Reynisfjara
  • One of most affordable south-coast tours, with a fuss-free itinerary
  • Convenient transfers from central Reykjavik hotels, plus port pickup
What to Expect
After hotel or cruise port pickup in Reykjavik, settle aboard an air-conditioned bus and travel to Iceland’s south coast, famous for its natural beauty. Head for the small village of Vik, known for its stellar sea views, and walk on the black sands of Reynisfjara beach, admiring its basalt-column cliffs. Next, continue to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Take in the beauty of the fall and walk behind the cascade to Skogafoss, whose waters plunge down a 197-foot (60-meter) drop. Make the most of the many photo ops as the falls and scenery promise some stunning shots. Finally, take a short walk to the glacier edge of Solheimajokull, a sublet glacier of Myrdalsjokull. The glaciers are constantly moving, and make some of Iceland’s most incredible sights. Marvel at the sizes of the glaciers before your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel or another, central location in Reykjavik.

We really enjoyed the sights on this tour and saw some incredibly beautiful places. The tour guide was lacking in enthusiasm and did not share nearly as much as other tour guides, which was a bit of a letdown.

No, the glacier is retreating so fast we weren't allowed to approach it to within 3-400metres; the sides of the valley were unstable and there was a risk of a mudslide, though it didn't stop some people; they weren't on our... More
