Little late to the review, as our trip was at the end of February, but wanted to make sure i put one up as it was a fantastic day and tour overall. Our guide picked Ingvar was superb, picking us up in the awesomely massive jeep, that was sure to get us up the mountain. The weekend itself had caused several othertours to cance with our being the only one to actually make it up - however it was touch and go if we would snowmobile, thanks to the quick thinking and assessment of the mountaineers team, they switched our itinerary around, in order to make sure we were able to get the snowmobile experience in - first ativity instead of last.
The whole team upon arrival were supberb, welcoming, freindly, helpful and alot of fun. Once getting all dressed up in our overalls, helmet and gloves, going through our safety briefing (safety first) off we went. The guides were excellent, I was at the back, the last one off and a little slow to start meant i lost the group, however the last guide didnt seem phased at all, stayed with me, and we enjoyed the journey till we caught up, much appreciated i never felt pressure to speed up or rush through. the views we stunning and beautiful, stopping a couple times to take photos and enjoy the wide open space!
We also go to enjoy the waterfall, walking across the US and Europe plates, and the geiysers! Ingvar was an awesome guide, keeping ups informed with the facts of Iceland, but not overdiong it, along with few laughs - his driving through the snow was impressive.
It was an wonderful day and absolutly 100% worth it. We loved Iceland, and hope to get back again, and would definitly book another tour and recommend to anyone looking for a great company, guides and overall experience. Thank you!

My 21 year old son wanted to visit Iceland and go snowmobiling on a glacier. And what an excellent idea it was!! Biggy picked us up and we were in excellent hands all day long. The company has first class equipment and staff and with the unpredictable weather that is what you want to have. From the snowmobile suits, helmets, gloves and snowmobile to the excellent guide we could not have had a better experience. My son quickly learned how to drive the snowmobile and off we went on an adventure like no other. Just driving up on the glacier and back is quite a thrill. Biggie has years of experience driving and answered our many questions. Why do you drop the tire pressure down under 10 PSI etc.? On the journey around the Golden Circle we saw several rental cars that would have been much better off booking this tour rather than getting stuck in a drift.
You can tell the company is passionate about what they do and providing their customers with the ultimate adventure.

This tour is amazing. Our guide was Magnus, who we adored. We were lucky enough to get picked up first and could sit near him and ask questions. By the time we got to the snowmobiles, I felt very comfortable with him. So much so, that I asked for help when I needed it. I got very motion sick and thought for sure I was done, Magnus gave me water, made me feel comfortable recovering, and brought other guides over who all offered good advice (look further out, and drive faster) which totally worked. The snowmobiling part take sup a lot of time so its quick stops at the sightseeing spots, which we were totally ok with. The Golden Circle sights were amazing. Was worried our family could last all day and it was perfectly timed for us. Tips, if you get motion sick, take your pills/wear your patch and try not to go too slow and don't stare at the snowmobile in front of you. Also bring some water, and bundle, bundle, bundle. Our hands were so cold even with the heated handles, my rider's hands were painfully cold. So wear your gloves under their gloves and shove some heating packets in there. Prepare properly and you will thoroughly enjoy this once in a lifetime experience.

Highly recommend this, it was a fab albeit long day but so worthwhile. Bear in mind weather might delay your planned day and we can see why. We were lucky to have a beautiful clear day and it made a big difference.
Starting from our hotel pickup, then into a small minibus we made our way to the Geysir, plenty of places to get drinks and food on your day so don't worry.
Gullfoss was very impressive, and we were lucky to have a quiet day with other visitors to get some fab pictures.

Our snowmobiling was an experience but fantastic, I'd say though be prepared if you're on the back of it - shaken, rattled and rolled is a good description :o).
We saw an ice cave which the company have begun preparing to actually be within the glacier - very impressive and informative talk from the guide.

The protective equipment is much needed - very warm and worked well.

The trip up and down from the glacier was beautiful and the letting down and reinflating of tyres made it feel even more an authentic experience. You felt every moment of the day that you were with people who really knew what they were doing, safe hands.

Our guide (I'm sorry I lost your name but was his first day of being a tour guide) was excellent and had so much information which was really good. We stopped on our way back to view the Eurasian tectonic plate and the North American tectonic plate, again very interesting and great photography opportunities.

Thank you guys for a great day and we will def book another tour when we return.

We were picked up from Bus Stop 3 in a very impressive Merceded super jeep and were told by the driver, Ingvar, that the there was some doubt if the snowmobiling would go ahead because of the forecast weather for later in the day. As we were travelling, the news came through that we were to go straight to the glacier and enjoy the snowmobiles first thing rather than at the end of the tour. Thanks to Ingvar's impressive driving talents, grit and determination we made it to the snowmobile centre and enjoyed an exciting hour or so whizzing about in the snow!
We then continued with the tour and visited the waterfall (be warned, this stunning location is incredibly windy and very cold. So wrap up well and mind your footing!!) Then on to the geysers and National Park, both well worth visiting and be mindful of the water temperature at the geyser. A very rewarding tour and thanks once again to Ingvar for making it possible. One tip, although Mountaineers of Iceland make it clear that food is not included in their service offering, there are restaurant facilities at the waterfall and geysers where you can buy a selection of soup, sandwiches and pastries. Excellent.

This tour is a great way to get a feel for the country in one day if this is a first trip. Especially with older children who get bored quickly. The snowmobiling was a highlight and very well run. The glacier was absolutely breathtaking! I highly recommend this tour if you want an overview of what Iceland has to offer but have limited number of days for your visit. As a side note, my two children (18 and 20) drove the snowmobiles with no problem even though they were first timers. They provide excellent instruction and all necessary clothing. Nothing like snowmobiling in Iceland on your vacation! What a beautiful country!

Thoroughly enjoyed this day. Very thing is smoothly coordinated right from pick up
There is a lot of time on the jeep but the guide was interesting and informative.
There is only a short time at each stop but it is generally enough.
The highlight comes when you reach the glacier and the jeep starts the ascent through the snow.
Kitting up for the snowmobiles is quick and efficient and after a short talk you set off in a long line. The snow mobiles get up to. A good speed( I clocked it a 55kph at one point) and are fairly heavy to steer but great fun. The views at the stop are breathtaking and everyone on our help had a great time

Amazing staff and very professional. Even though we didnt manage to go on the tour as we cancelled the last minute due to health issue of a family member, they kindly gave us a full refund. Also, I heard from others that this is one of the best tours in Iceland, so it does worth the extra money compared to others.

Booked up the golden circle tour with 1 hour snowboarding via Reykjavik Excursions, and on pick up they had subcontracted to Mountaineers of Iceland.
No complaints from my wife and I and our 2 adult offspring!
"Sniper" was our driver and guide, and what a great guy he was. Picked up in this big boy 4x4 truck and off we went. Sniper was giving us some great information over his mic system. (The mic system would be my only slight negative as it kept cutting out, and we missed a chunk of info due to sitting at the back of the truck). Gulfoss waterfall and Geysir were fantastic to see and learn about. We were then transported in a big boy 4 x 4 coach up from Gulfoss to the glacier. The snowmobiling was magnificent. We were fully kitted out in very warm clothing. Boots and gloves also available. Our adult kids (18yrs and 20yrs) drove myself and my wife and they had a thoroughly great time being in the controls. My wife and I had the ride of our lives.. LOL. - This is a full day out. - Highly recommended.

From the minute we left the hotel our guide Ludvik was a wealth of information! The weather was outstanding, and we were able to visit a place that tourists miss due to weather and transportation! We would recommend the Jeep tour over a bus tour any day. The Jeep was very comfortable, we stopped often for restroom breaks, and we were allowed plenty of time at each stop. Eight hours flew by!
