Get ready for an Icelandic off-road adventure with this quad bike tour of Hafrafell and Úlfarsfell mountains. Zoom off on a single-seater or double-seater ATV to see natural attractions like Lake Hafravatn during the 2-hour tour. Admire panoramic vistas of Reykjavik and the Blue Mountain range from the summits of both mountains. Feel the thrill of cruising across the rugged wintry wonderland and up and down steep mountain tracks. Use of all safety gear and round-trip transportation from Reykjavik hotels is included.
What to Expect
Riding an all-terrain quad bike is the perfect way to explore the remote, rugged landscape surrounding Reykjavík — much of it inaccessible by car or coach. Your adventure begins with pickup at your Reykjavik hotel and a 15-minute drive to base camp.

Meet your experienced guides and gear up with a safety helmet, gloves and thermal overalls to stay warm throughout the open-air adventure. You can choose to ride solo in your own vehicle or double up with a friend or family member on a dual-passenger bike.

Drivers will get an overview of operating the quad bikes and time to practice before the convoy sets off into the wintry landscape. Cruise along paved roads at first as you head along the outskirts of the city toward beautiful Lake Hafravatn. Admire the glassy surface surrounded by pastures and snow-capped peaks, and then venture deeper into the remote landscape on gravel paths. Feel the full power of your quad bike as you cruise up to the summit of Mt Hafrafell, where you can take in spectacular views of Reykjavik and neighboring ranges.

Continue riding up steep mountain tracks and often-icy terrain to the second of the twin peaks, Mt Úlfarsfell. The summit here offers even more breathtaking views of the otherworldly Icelandic countryside and attractions like Mt Esja and the Blue Mountain range.

After approximately two hours of riding time, shed your gear and hop back in the transfer vehicle for the return trip to your Reykjavik hotel.

Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required. You must use the 'Single Rider Extra' to indicate how many will be riding solo on a bike (if any).

Great experience

A great adventure. Chris, our guide, was outstanding. He tailored the experience to our skill level and took the time to show us unique, off the beaten path, areas. Highly recommend it.

Beautiful views and nice guide, but not that exciting

We've done ATV tours elsewhere (Moorea (Tahiti) and Puerto Rico). This one started slowly and went down city streets before getting off-road. Our guide (Tony) took us up a road that isn't usually on the tour so that we could cross a small river. The...More

My husband and I had a blast. This was my first time on an ATV. We went with two other families, we had 6 ATVs in our group. Perfect size! Our guide was fantastic! I would 100% do this again. Worth every penny!

Really great

Nice setup, well organised. Drove to the meet. Ride out is partially on roads but they're really quite. Off road stuff isn't too rough but does give your arms a work out. Fantastic views from the hill tops.
