Mountain Helicopter Tour with Summit Landing from Reykjavik

Overview
Iceland seduces travelers with uncanny landscapes of geysers, volcanoes, and glaciers. Most travelers view these sights from the ground. With this tour, access a vantage point others won't. Fly to a mountaintop near Reykjavik for a bird’s-eye view of the dramatic scenery. Choose a morning or afternoon flight to suit your schedule. The helicopter ride lasts about 20 minutes, leaving plenty of time for taking photos on the summit.
What to Expect
The tour begins at Reykjavik Airport and you'll arrange your own round-trip transportation. Before boarding the helicopter for a 15- to 20-minute ride, the pilot will narrate a short safety briefing. Hop onboard, choosing to sit up front or in the rear. When everyone is ready, take to the skies.

As you fly over Reykjavik, take in the panoramic views before circling over Mount Esja or another mountain range nearby, depending on the weather. Touchdown on the summit and spy the coastal plains and distant mountains against Reykjavik’s cityscape.

Take some selfies at the summit and chat with your pilot about points of interest in the distance. Step back on board the helicopter and fly back to Reykjavik. The tour ends at the starting point, Reykjavik Airport.

Please note: Weather rules the mountain summit landing and, for this reason, landing locations are determined based on where the best weather is on the day of the flight.

Incredible experience

We loved this - none of us have been on a helicopter tour before and it was just amazing. The summit landing is in a remote location - we were literally the only people on this mountain summit. The views during the ride were amazing...More

Awesome

Jon our pilot was great, and initially told us that it was socked in on the glacier summit, so we would probably be unable to land on it or even fly over. There was just one other couple on board, and we all quickly agreed...More

Perfect helicopter experience so close to Reykjavik

Perfect helicopter guided tour close to Reykjavik, and so vast an area - felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. If you are short on time and the weather is not perfect, you can still have an exceptional helicopter experience. Go for it!
