Overview
Iceland is a global crossroads for outdoor adventure, but it can be hard to find experiences beyond mere sightseeing. On this adventure tour, visit Thingvellir National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage site—for a day of spelunking and snorkeling. Explore a lava tube and cave in one of the most volcanically active regions in Iceland, and then snorkel in the Silfra fissure, swimming between the American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
What to Expect
Make your way to a designated pickup point in central Reykjavik, where you climb aboard a climate-controlled minibus for the roughly hour-long journey to Thingvellir National Park. Listen to a quick safety briefing and introduction to the park, then get fitted for spelunking and snorkeling gear.

Follow your guide to underground lava fields through Gjabakkahellir or Leioarendi cave. Climb through a lava tube and take a tour of the cave. Marvel at layers of rock and lava deposits in one of the most active volcanic areas in the world.

After a lunch break (at your own expense), continue to the Silfra fissure, which lies between the tectonic plates that separate North America and Eurasia. Put on snorkeling gear and a drysuit to explore the underground pool. Your guide takes you to the pool’s most scenic areas.

Finish the daylong adventure with a drop-off at the departure point.

Incredible experience

One of the best tour in Iceland, the tour guide was amazing, he knows every detail from the cave and it's one of the kindest guides you will find out there.

cold but dry

The snorkeling at Silfra has Fantastic visibility, nice setting, and you are always dry using dry suit, first time for me. The only disappointment for me was that you don't see any fish or animal in Silfra, so I think that going through the process...More

Were did not get coveralls, but it would be worth emailing to see if they accommodate-as they were great to work with on the tour. It would definitely be possible to tip your clothes, but I don’t believe anyone on our tour... More
