The Best Olive Oil in Greece!
Let's start with staff - Victoria welcomed us warmly in a rain/thunderstorm! We went upstairs to the tasting room! Beautiful and well appointed! She was lovely and engaging, informative and well timed with her presentation! Can't say enough good things about her. The Olive Oil is AMAZING! Do Not Miss this experience!!!! We have been to Corfu before and to the Governor's Olive Mill in the hills but this is an exceptional opportunity in Corfu Town - if you are on a cruise this is a MUST. The 6 courses were expertly prepared and accompanied with delicious olive oil. You will learn why the Mediterranean Diet is good for you! We love this olive oil and they now ship to Canada and USA - they have won all kinds of awards! Thank you Victoria for a wonderful informative tour that is reasonably priced and so delicious!!!!

        Exceptional hour long tasting experience!
We were in port for 7 hours and did not want to spend the majority of time in port at the Olive Mill, but wanted to experience olive oil tasting. This was PERFECT. Stella was an amazing presenter, her passion for this multi-generation business was obvious. The building is in the heart of old town, easy to find, very clean and appealing. Stella had a wealth of knowledge and an amazing spread to sample, including a glass of wine. Very nice retail shop with carry on approved sizes available. The entire experience was about an hour and a highlight of our cruise. Highly recommend!

        Interesting & Tasty Tour
The history from long ago to present day techniques to make olive oil was beautifully explained. Loved the tasting experience and atmosphere of the room. The food was not only amazing but hearing the health benefits of olive oil and trials being conducted was fascinating. My only suggestion is to reduce the length for pick up and drop off. People were spread apart at various locations which made the drive there well over an hour on twisty roads. Our tour description said we’d stop at a ruin which never happened . We were confused why that didn’t happen but did really enjoy the olive oil facility and seeing the 1500 year old olive tree. We’ll worth it to take this tour!

Great family run business and FUN TOUR.
We visited this place to get a some information and tast of Corfu's Olive Oil. We where lucky to be the last TWO guests of the season to visit (closed for the season with tours after october 31st). We met many great member of the family including George (our guide) grandfather which was trying to get us tasting thing even before the tour began ;).... We had a great time, good quality and pride in their products. Certainly worth anybody's time when in the area.

Need to experience - Fabulous hosts!
We randomly showed up late afternoon today and although they were so busy with the harvest, George was able to show us around. The super fresh olive oil tasting is just an amazing experience - slight tingling sensation in your throat, but in a tolerable and amazing way! Thank you guys for making our long drive around winding (and closed) roads worthwhile!!

        Best olive oil ever!
We were too late for a tour but we went anyway and got to read the information sheets around. A family member that runs the place gave us a detailed explanation about the production, the tradition behind it, and what makes their olive oil so special how it is. In the end, we got to taste some and it was a fantastic sensorial experience! Of course, we will get a bottle home and it is sad we can't fit more in the luggage. Such an exquisite olive oil they have in there!

Do it!! It’s a special experience!
A great experience! You’re getting a complete new view of olive oil and the quality of this product. This is a family owned production and you will see this from the beginning on. They love what they do and they give you the same feeling. You can learn and listen a lot from these guys. This tour has a special charm! Super nice and friendly guides! They are doing everything to make you feel happy during your visit.

Worst place we visited in Corfu
We are here right now literally 45 minutes with no service. There is supposed to be a tour at 1430 but no tour is offered. It’s near the end of the season and obviously they just don’t care. We were excited to drive over an hour from Sidari based on all the good reviews. The youngest son completely ignored us and spent the last 45 minutes just chatting with a German couple who had no intent on buying anything or any tour. I was going to buy a lot of oil to take home but being ignored completely for 45 minutes and the the rude couple just talking for the sake of talking and not allowing us to buy any oil was upsetting. Worst customer service in Europe. What a crappy experience. You just lost several hundred euros in sales but it obvious you don’t care. Shame on you and lack of respect.

        Fantastic
We did the short tour which included the museum and the mill and a tasting. Very interesting and the guide was excellent. The tasting was something else - beautiful room and just fantastic! Loads of information about the oil, it tasted great and we got to try it along with some food and wine 👍🏻 Totally recommend this as a very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

Excellent tour. George collected udon a comfortable mini-bus around 9:00 and was entertaining throughout the journey as we collected other guests. He’s full of interesting information and is very witty. You can see his passion for the family business.

The tour itself and the tasting is great. You also get to visit impressive caves and an ancient fort in the area - all worth seeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed the day and bought the premium EVOO which is much cheaper to buy there than in the UK.
      Great value your.

With humor and charm, our tour guide shared the history and process of her olive oil mill company, located in the beautiful hills of Agios Matteos, about 30 minutes drive from Corfu Town. We also tasted several olive oils. I’d recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys using olive oil in their food.

An excellent tour which did a great job explaining how olives make the journey from tree to bottle. Maria was a fantastic guide. She started with some of the historical ways olives were milled and pressed in the old days in their small museum. Then she took us through the modern production process, and the highlight was a tasting session to explore some of the flavour differences of different types of oil, and some more unusual ways to use olive oil on food. Then we had a small drive to the olive groves to see one of the oldest trees in Corfu, 1500 years old! Thoroughly recommended.

The journey began with George picking us up from our hotel, which is a seamless and timely process. He was cracking jokes and telling stories of the island from the very beginning. It was very entertaining. When we arrived at the Olive Oil Mill we met the entire family and began our education. George walked and talked us through the journey of their Olive Oil family, about the 4 million Olive trees on the island and how they used to produce olive oil. He then proceeded to show the new and innovative way they produce olive oil. From there we did a informative and education tasting of olive oil. George does a terrific job keeping the tasting light and funny. You are fully engaged. Anyway, we had a great time and I highly recommend this if you want to do and see something other than sitting on the beach or spending time in Corfu Town.

We visited in April when the mill isn't active and thoroughly recommend it.
Spiros was a great host and told us everything we needed to know about Olives, its significance to Corfu and his passion comes through. It felt like being shown around the place by an old friend.
The tasting experience was lovely and all of us enjoyed the mini spread. Homemade yoghurt, marmalade dessert with olive oil - mind blown.
Waze stopped working half-way due to lack of signal, but follow the road and look for signs.
Also, definitely book directly on their website.

We visited The Governor Olive Oil facility in the strength of some other reviews and were not disappointed. We paid €15 for the 1,5 hour tour which ended up being more like 2 hours as George, our tour guide, spent lots of time answering questions and sharing his knowledge on olive oil. It’s clear that George is very passionate about his trade and it makes for a highly engaging experience.

The site itself is small and charming, with a production facility, museum, tasting room and shop (the tasting of the oil forms part of the tour along with some delicious local produce all made by Georges Mother)

We would highly recommend this tour as we learned a lot and it will inform any future decisions we make on sourcing olive oil.

Thanks for George for being a wonderful teacher and for the Olive leaf tea which was just lovely!

Tip- we bought some oil from the shop (€25) as it was so delicious and when we looked online it was over £50 so it you like it, buy a few from George after the tour!

Every member of the family was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate about the quality of their olive oil. To fully appreciate their oils the tasting tour is well worth booking. You get to try two different extra virgin oils with cheese, tomatoes, bread (of course) and even with vanilla ice cream topped with mum’s homemade marmalade. George, the younger of the two brothers, was very entertaining whilst also being so informative.

As the very first guests of the year, we unexpectedly stepped in and received a really warm welcome. Only our small family of 4 was present, yet we had such a detailed and experiential presentation that makes our visit to Corfu truly memorable. We have always loved olive oil, but the information we gained during the visit and the tasting presentation deepened our relationship with olive oil even more. Thank you very much for the experience, we warmly recommend that if you visit Corfu, you should not miss it.

This tour was absolutely worth it! George has a charismatic mix of passion as an olivologist, obvious commitment to his craft and the business, and humor that makes the tour as fun as it is informative! He was friendly, open to every question, and expressed both in words and in actions a want to make the tour not just a tour but an experience. It certainly was that and one I look back on fondly!

During our time, we saw equipment of EVOO past and future, learned what constitutes an ideal product, and tasted incredibly delicious EVOO, both on its own and with bread, tomatoes, feta, another cheese, and olives. We also visited one of the oldest trees in the area, dubbed the “Mother Tree” and I was both humbled and inspired by its braided trunk and immense size.

What I learned from George, both about the tree itself and Olive Oil products and their health benefits are something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Corfu & praise George and the family businesses’ commitment to quality, warmth & humor!

The Governor’s Olive Mill offers a lovely and informative experience for anyone visiting Corfu. George and Eleni have created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where you can learn about olive oil production and taste their exceptional oils.

The tour begins with a brief history of olive oil in Corfu, followed by a look at the production process at the mill. George shares his knowledge with enthusiasm, making the information accessible even for those new to olive oil. The small museum section includes interesting old tools and artifacts used in olive oil production.

The next highlight is the tasting, where Eleni explains the different oils and how to appreciate their flavors. It’s a great opportunity to try something local and high quality.

Overall, the experience is well-organized and enjoyable. George and Eleni make you feel welcome, and you can tell they care about what they do. If you’re in Corfu and want to learn more about olive oil, this is a great stop.
