    On this 2-hour Douro river private sailing cruise you’ll experience a different Porto on the water. The meeting point is at Douro Marina in front Deck C and then you’ll board on the Argonauta. Once sailing on the water, you’ll enjoy the most breathtaking views of Douro river estuary and Porto city, whilst getting a running commentary of famous sites (Arrábida bridge, Dom Luís I bridge, Ribeira, cellars etc). Your 2-hour cruise concludes at Douro Marina situated in the picturesque fishing community called St. Peter of Afurada, here, you can continue visiting this parish at your leisure and own expense. THIS is a FANTASTIC Guide and Boat Tour!!
This river cruise with Raul was PERFECTION!! The port tasting was lovely! He gave all three of us a generous pour of white, ruby, and tawny. The knowledge that he shared of both Porto and Gaia were wonderful! The boat is so beautiful once you board and let Raul enthusiastically describe the mahogany cabin and so many other features. It is the perfect vessel for the time on the water while sipping fantastic port! He even let both my husband and son take turns at steering. We would recommend this tour to anyone and will definitely return if we visit again!

We celebrated my wife’s birthday in Porto & thought a river sailing cruise sounded fun, but Raul and Jaime far exceeded our expectations. Raul was extremely knowledgeable and kind. The love for his city was infectious. The boat was beautiful, port tasting was fantastic and the only way Porto could be more beautiful is to see it from the water. Highly highly highly recommend.

Relaxing river cruise with Raul!
We were looking for a last minute river cruise and came across the Mar Douro which had some great reviews. We were able to book in the morning for an afternoon trip and were greeted by Raul at the pier at the agreed time. Raul was the perfect host and was friendly and welcoming. We had the most relaxing 2 hours on the river. Raul talked us through the sights as we travelled along the river and we had three different types of port wine which tasted great. Highly recommend this trip!

Our time with Raul made our short stay in Porto absolutely magical. He was a wealth of knowledge, was kind, fun, and an enthusiastic photographer. It felt like hanging out with a wonderful new friend who happens to be excellent at sailing!

Raul & Carlos...The Best!

Passed on all the touristy packed boats floating up and down the Douro and opted for this private (4 of us) sailboat cruise with Raul and his assistant Carlos. Absolutely the best idea we had on our trip to Porto. Raul could not have been more engaging and knowledgeable about all the sights along the river. Oh, and did I mention he kept serving up Port wines, all kinds of port wines. Two wonderful, relaxing and interesting hours floating on the river taking in the beauty of Porto. Raul even walked us to his favorite restaurant after the cruise where on his recommendation we had a fabulous lunch. Book this boat cruise, less than 100 euro per person and worth the price at twice that number.

We thoroughly enjoyed our personal trip on the Duoro river with Raul and his colleague Carlos. The boat sails from Duoro Marina, a little way out of town but we took an Uber and it only cost us about €4 from Ponte Luis to the marina to meet the boat. Raul and Carlos were friendly and informative about life in Portugal and the history of Porto, we learnt some interesting facts. The boat is a lovely place to spend a few hours, seeing Porto up close from the river and sampling some delicious port. Even if you've seen the city from both banks of the river this gives a different and nicer perspective. Raul also took some great photos of us on his camera for souvenirs and sent them to us later, we didn't expect that and it was a nice gesture. I wish we'd booked for a longer trip as we had such a nice time.

I highly recommend Private River Douro Sailing Cruise. The crew was exceptional, knowledgeable and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend for a relaxing alternative to viewing the city by foot. I also enjoyed the port wine - what a nice treat!!

Best investment. The boat was great and the cruise itself ensures all the best views from the river.
Wine was served and a history and geography lesson was extremely helpful.
Loved Raul and highly recommend him for any tour you need

One of the best experiences in Portugal

I can't think of a more relaxed and laidback way to see the beautiful banks of Douro. Raul was very accommodating in our last minute changes, and he's also an excellent guide and photographer! We look forward to coming back in the near future.

This was a very peaceful trip down the Douro River away from the crowds of the large group tours. The view of Porto was amazingly beautiful and is definitely a perspective you need to experience by boat! Raul was very accommodating throughout the trip, highly recommend!
