- Meet your guide and group in central Lisbon. Listen to a short introduction to get oriented, and hear about the history of the square, built with native Portuguese stones. Take in the sights, sounds, as you follow your guide through Restauradores Square and take a peek at Liberdade Avenue to see an important obelisk and plenty of examples of Portuguese art deco architecture. Check out Rossio Central Station and learn the details of the 19th-century engineering marvel that is the tunnel to Sintra. Next up are Carmo Square and the elegant Chiado neighborhood, full of local boutiques, restaurants, and bookstores. Admire the rebuilt Baixa Pombalina, the area that suffered the effect of the 18th century earthquake the most. From here, we slowly walk towards Alfama, the oldest nieighborhood of Lisbon, where time seems to stand still. As you explore, learn about the tradition of fado music, stopping to peek into fado restaurants and performance spaces you would ordinarily walk right by. The tour’s last stop is the grand Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio). After your guide’s final history lesson, get insider suggestions on where to explore further and say goodbye to your group.

- MsSMS880 contributionsExcellent tourMy friends and I booked this tour of the south bank regions of the river with wine tasting trip with Inside Lisbon Tours and we were very happy with it - visited castles, beaches and two vineyards. Tony was an excellent tour guide and is a human walking encyclopaedia! We learnt a lot about Portugal and got to view and appreciate its beauty. Thank you very much! Excellent tour.Written 18 March 2024
- MsSMS880 contributionsExcellent tourI joined this trip at the last minute and I am so glad I did! Excellent tour visiting Fatima, Batalha, Nazare, and Obidos, with a very friendly and excellent tour guide Ricardo, clean transport (van) - maximum group number of 8. Thank you very much. Definitely worth it.Written 18 March 2024
- Greatyummy0 contributionsWell worth itDaniel was our host and guide. What a wonderful experience we had with him and our group. The background of the city, Portugal and surrounding area was so interesting and the 3 hours went by so quickly. Delicious food and wine and a nice easy walk through part of town center. Highly recommend you consider taking a tour early on your visit as we did. Gave us areas we want to go back and visit.Written 18 March 2024

- Angela B0 contributionsVery worthwhile tourWe thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide Guilherme was very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything Portuguese and gave us lots of tips for our Lisbon trip. We were treated to some beautiful food and drinks which we returned to again over the course of our visit. The rain was unrelenting during the tour but we hardly noticed because we were enjoying ourselves so much. We would thoroughly recommend booking this tour for a fantastic introduction into Lisbon food and drinks.Written 17 March 2024
- emilygI6675IT0 contributionsRelaxing and Enjoyable DayA lovely day, our guide was very personable and knowledgeable about the area. Saw a lot of beautiful scenery and visited two wineries with great tastings. Tour at JKF was very interesting and Quinta de Alcube was an amazing little winery. Very much recommend to get out of the city and enjoy some local wines.Written 17 March 2024
- RayT4880 contributionsA must do day excursion from LisbonHighly recommend this trip for a day excursion from Lisbon. They pick you up downtown in a very comfortable van with no more than 8 people on the tour. Our tour guide, Natalia, grew up in the area that this tour goes to and her knowledge and understanding of the culture and where we visited made the trip a memory never forgotten. Natalia was the best tour guide we ever had and a great since of humor and the way she explained and recommended where we go in the different areas made this a must see area and tour.Written 16 March 2024

- 1991scarletv0 contributionsThe best wine & food tour so farWe had a really nice food tour with our guide Pedro. Even though, the culinary culture of Lisbon wasn’t that new to us, we learned a lot about the origins of Lisbon, the wine and food we tried. Pedro animated our small group with a lot of enthousiasm and gave us interesting historical Informations. The wine and food were delicious.Written 16 March 2024
- Mark L0 contributionsSmall group tour that is worth itThis is a small group tour. You get picked up near the Hard Rock in downtown Lisbon. They then take you by passenger van to different sites. Fatima was large with a lot of religious significance. We expect it could be hot in the summer. Mass in English was going on. The tour also takes you to Obido. A small quaint town and other places to see. Certainly worth the day trip from LisbonWritten 16 March 2024

Danielle was engaging, knowledgeable and an excellent tour guide. She guided us around some fascinating sights giving us history and context painting in the colour and detail with the passion of someone who knows and loves her city. There are plenty of free tours but don’t bother with them - this one was worth every penny.

Ana was our guide. We got lucky that since it was off season, the tour ended up just being my group. She was at the meet-up spot early and was easy to find. The tour itself was great! She was not only very knowledgeable of what was on the itinerary, but even more. As we were walking around, we asked her questions about buildings we would see in the distance, and she was able to provide us with the history of them too. At the end of the tour, as we drank our wine, she helped us by giving us more ideas of what to check out while we are there (which we did which was an amazing suggestion). Thanks again!

We had lovely time with Beatrice and our walking group, 12 of us altogether. She is a fantastic guide, enthusiastic, fun, entertaining, so informative and interesting, showed us parts of the city we would otherwise never have had time to discover on our short visit to Lisbon and answered all our questions with patience!!! This is a must do tour , highly recommended. Great value with a guide who is a wonderful ambassador for Lisbon tourism and the company she represents. Thank you Beatrice.

Our guide Sebastião, was indeed very knowledgeable and took real pride in explaining everything in detail. He really loves what he does, which was clear by looking at his enthusiasm throughout the tour. The tour includes all the highlights of lisbon that one has on the bucket list. Sebastião took us to many view points, and they were really breathtaking and amazing. The tour concluded with some traditional wine tasting. This tour can prove helpful if you take it on the first day of your arrival, as you would know what else you can do with the rest of your stay.

We were lucky to have Beatriz as a guide in our first day in Lisbon! The historical and art information were delivered in an anecdotical, fun way. Beatriz offered lots of practical info and was able to answer all our questions, which helped us to structure the visit for the next days. She kept the group enchanted for 3 hours that in the end it was hard for us to part ways.
Thank you, dear Beatriz!

My two adult daughters and I took the tour with Joana, and they both said it was their favorite experience in Lisbon. I have to agree- Joana made it an amazing experience. She was so relaxed, personable, and friendly, while also being incredibly knowledgeable. We learned a ton about Lisbon, but the information was given with humor and through stories, so it felt very different from other guided tours. When she talked about the dictatorship or the revolution or the religious attitudes in the country, she talked about the experiences of her own friends and family, and she made the culture come alive. She was very cognizant of the different physical abilities in the group, but never made anyone feel singled out. She also went above and beyond in accommodating our dietary restrictions (vegetarian). Even though we were a mix of ages, abilities, countries, and genders, everyone felt like friends by the end. We also took her suggestions to heart for the (unfortunately limited) time we had left. I HIGHLY recommend you take the tour your first day in Lisbon, because it’s such a great way to see and become familiar with the city. Just fyi for anyone wondering, the tour is very doable in term of walking and she provides alternatives by showing you public escalators, elevators, and secret shortcuts. Thank you, Joana, for being the highlight of our trip!

If you really want to be introduced to Lisbon, this is the best way to do it. Our guide, Joanna, was wonderful. Not only was she informative, her way of narrating all the facts was very interesting and made you want to hear more. The info we were given, in addition to introducing us to Lisbon, helped us know how to navigate the city in the best way possible (what to see, where to eat, how to find our way, how to get up those hills without having to climb much). One of the best walking tours I've been on...A definite must.

Our tour guide was great talking to us when our group met her in the square. But once we started walking it was kind of not fair that only those close enough to her could hear what she was telling us. But a nice part of the tour was stopping to taste a favorite Portuguese pastry and even to taste a wine and cheese all as part of the price of the tour.

Hi, I wanted to ask in this tour whether we get to go inside the Elevador de Santa Justa? And also since we are spending approx 20 min in Alfama, will we be spending some time in Sé Cathedral & Castelo de São Jorge?

Hello, 8 of us arriving to a Viking trip will be arriving about noon on Monday, April 25th. We are looking for a walking tour of about 2-3 hours in the early afternoon. Do you have any recommendations?

Is there any small group tours that provide an overview of Lisbon that begin around noon. We are a group of four seniors that will be arriving on May 4th for four days in Lisbon and wanted to have a short tour that would provide us an overview of things to see later in our visit We were hoping for something that left around noon or 1:00pm

We took a tour offered by Inside Lisbon Tours. The company was extremely flexible scheduling our tour. Delta Airlines changed our flights several times, but this tour company very kindly and patiently changed the start time for our tour. The guide, André, was very friendly, interesting, accommodating, and he spoke English (and French) fluently and it was easy to understand him. Wishing you all a delightful vacation!

Boa noite.
