São Miguel East Full Day Tour with Furnas Including Lunch
US$68.69
Overview
Eastern São Miguel boasts unique landscapes and attractions, but ticking them all off can be difficult. Travel with ease to these remote locations on a full day tour from Ponta Delagada and visit Nossa Senhora da Paz, Furnas Lake, and one of Europe’s last tea plantations, Gorreana. Enjoy a ‘cozido’ lunch and relax as you enjoy the region’s sights with hotel pick-up and dropoff all included in the price.
What to Expect

Begin your tour with Ponta Delgada hotel pickup. As you head east, visit the Nossa Senhora da Paz, a church hidden high in the mountains around Vila Franca do Campo. Admire the views from the secluded vantage point and enjoy a local pastry, or ‘queijada’.

Then head to the volcanic town of Furnas and opt for a thermal pool experience (not included), or wander its streets, before stopping for a traditional ‘cozido’ lunch. Savor the ground-cooked stew, followed by fresh pineapple and coffee.

Next, enjoy vistas of the Furnas lake and valley from an elevated viewpoint, then onto to the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park to view its waterfall, before a tour of the Gorreana Tea Plantation. Relax on your return to town, finishing with hotel drop-off.

Excellent well organised tour with great variety

An amazing tour, which was the best way to see the sights of the East of Sao Miguel. Picked up on time and taken to amazing church and viewpoint. Some other fantastic viewpoints during the day, and the tour of furnas was a particular highlight.

The tour is in a van, 8 people the most, it was around $80 for each person, if you want a private car you can email Pure Azores maybe they can do a private tour for you, or do some research, I’ve seen other people in a Jeep
