Overview

Explore Portugal's Ria Formosa Natural Park on a boat tour, a great way to explore parts of the park inaccessible by car. Aboard a catamaran, you'll enjoy unobstructed views of the Algarve Coast and cruise around the islands of Deserta, Farol, Culatra, and Armona. Traveling with a guide maximizes your chances of spotting local wildlife such as egrets and flamingos, and promises to enhance your knowledge of local flora and fauna. A small group limited to 12 people guarantees personalized attention from your guide.

What to Expect

Make your way to Faro port to board a modern catamaran. As your guide provides an overview of the area, watch the coastline of Faro recede on the way out to sea. Keep watch for coastal birds that use this area as a breeding ground, such as egrets, cranes, and flamingos.

Cruise along the Algarve coast, through the lagoons of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and around the islands of Deserta, Farol, Cultura, and Armona. At each island, the catamaran makes a stop for you to access the isolated beaches. Taking this boat tour allows you the best possible views and experience of the natural park and the islands.

Return to the port in Faro for drop-off at the end of your tour. Morning and afternoon tours are available to suit your schedule.

Our excellent tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable and friendly. We cruised among several islands and had great fun. The boat was comfortable and modern as well. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone staying in Algarve.

Not 100% sure but do know one of the companies advertise all year round trips. Probably best to walk down to the jetty by the old town entrance at Cais da Porta Nova and see of the kiosks are open
