About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kellybE6391TD0 contributionsGreat experience! This was a great experience. Small boat so got to see some beautiful canals. The host and driver of boat were funny and made the experience more fun! There was only about 16 people on our boat so very nice with a small group. Unlimited wine and beer was nice. No bathroom though so plan accordingly!Written 5 October 2024
- missannakatie0 contributionsNice stories, terribly organizedWhilst the views from the canal and the stories we were told were interesting we found the boat tour poorly organised and over subscribed. We booked a tour for 11 and for some reason the boat didn’t leave until 11.30. Someone else on the boat asked why that is and they just said that’s how it is. So why not advertise this? They then started letting people on the boat that booked later tours and it felt super cramp. There was also people over drinking and shouting and laughing so it was hard to hear the guide. It was nice but I would consider a smaller or private tour and double check the time of booking is as advertised if considering this tour again!Written 4 October 2024
- ehh110 contributionsPerfect Open Boat One Hour Amsterdam Canal TourWe had the open boat tour which lasted one hour. The guide (Sergey) was great and the captain was solid. The tour was fun and provided us with just enough history and information. I highly recommend the tour and tour operator.Written 4 October 2024
- stephaniesO7353TP0 contributionsExcellent tour around back canalsGreat tour around the back canals that larger boats can’t get to. I learned a lot from the captain about Amsterdam history. And they kept our drinks full the entire ride. Definitely recommend.Written 4 October 2024
- minii_lexii0 contributions“You sit on a throne of lies” - ElfBeyond disappointed. We were settling down to our dinner reservation before our ‘Evening Canal Cruise with Live Guide and Onboard Bar’ as advertised, when I had a missed call and a coy text to say, “Ahoy, There has been a change in your reservation. Please check your mail.” Due to a “technical issue”, we had to alter our time from 20:15 to either 20:00 or 21:15. A little inconvenient, but we were happy to accommodate to 20:00 and appreciated the communication. We arrived outside the Anne Frank House as instructed, where we saw a beautiful open-top boat with an onboard bar. A staff member boarded this with their bike(?) and then it proceeded to drive away. Another staff member saw our ticket and noted we were on the Wine and Cheese cruise. My fiancé and I both stated clearly that this was not the case, but he still directed us round the corner to queue by the orange bike, stating it was “easy as”, providing no explanation as to what had occurred. “Easy as” it was not. After queuing and showing our ticket again, we boarded the boat to discover it was, in fact, a Wine and Cheese cruise. It was stated early on by the tour guide that you were only entitled to cheese and wine if you had an orange wristband, which of course we didn’t, as this was not the cruise we had booked. As we were not entitled to cheese or wine, we were then ignored entirely for the duration of the cruise while others were waited on hand and foot. This was not what we had envisioned on our holiday celebrating our very recent engagement. There were at least two other couples it was clear were in our position. One man asked for a drink, noting to the tour guide that he hadn’t yet been acknowledged, and the tour guide quickly got in there that he’d have to pay for his drinks at the end. You’d think for the inconvenience of being moved to a cruise you did not book, you may have been given equal treatment. My fiancé also noted there was no health and safety announcement as to what would happen if the boat were to sink, for example. He himself noted where the nearest life jacket was (under your seat). Nor was there any sort of padding to prevent you banging your head on entrance and exit. Slightly concerning. We did not complain to the staff on board the Wine and Cheese Cruise, as we appreciated it was not their individual fault and there was precious little they could do to fix this. But we did request a full refund and I held off on posting this review in anticipation of the response. HOWEVER, less than 24 hours later, I received a very curt email fully denying our refund and offering no apology or explanation whatsoever. In fact, it stated that WE had not been able to fulfil OUR OWN travel plans???!!! To say my fiancé and I are seething would be an understatement. Being messed about, ignored on the wrong cruise, not receiving what we paid for nor an apology or refund for the inconvenience did not allow us to celebrate our engagement in the slightest. Please actively avoid if you are after a special, magical moment, or in fact just the cruise you booked! However, if you are seeking a lucky dip, this is the place for you!Written 3 October 2024

- 826karanjits0 contributionsFun Boat TourFlagship Amsterdam was an absolute highlight of our trip. It was great to see the stunning canals and iconic architecture from a unique perspective. The tour was well-organized, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide shared fascinating insights about the city’s history and landmarks, making the journey even more enjoyable. The boat itself was comfortable, providing ample space to take in the views and snap some great photos.Written 26 September 2024
- H2328XOmikel0 contributionsGood fun, relaxed and friendlyA really fun canal cruise, wasn't crowded on the boat and we all had a great time chatting to and meeting fellow travellers, was a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The tour had some good current insider knowledge, but not that much historical information, so I'd recommend going on a walking tour as well for more historical knowledge. But was good fun, and a nice way to see the city.Written 26 September 2024
- galway9920150 contributionsDissapointingDid not get good commentary about the sights - discussion was all about Cannabis. Tables on boat were wobbly so red wind spilled all over my wife's clothes which completely spoiled the event.Written 25 September 2024
- heatheroJ7734EZ0 contributionsGreat tour guides, just need more beer optionsI think this was an wesome outing. The tour guides were super friendly and informative but only complaint is for all you can drink beer, we wish there was more than Heineken as that was disappointing since we didn’t like it much to drink anything but otherwise great time.Written 24 September 2024
- ingridbF2662YA0 contributionsPerfect way to start the day!I had one day to spend in Amsterdam, this was the perfect start. A great way to see the explore the city, the boat was very comfortable and the narrative was interesting and entertaining. Highly recommend.Written 23 September 2024

A must when in Amsterdam. Exploring the canals in this boat is a great experience. Britt and her teammate (guy with glasses) did a great job explaining interesting and fun facts about the city.
The best: Staff crew 10/10 and the city is absolutely beautiful.
To improve: The boat has a ceiling and it doesn’t let you see the whole landscape, as an open boat (recommend the other flagship tour if this is very important). The open bar doesn’t include hard liquor, only beer and wine.
Recommend this tour: couples, people that don’t want to be crammed in a smaller boat and people that want to have fun and pay a little bit more.

We booked this on short notice after our private tour fell through, and would thoroughly recommend it (at less than half the price!). Our very friendly hosts provided an entertaining commentary as we pootled along the canals eating cheese and sipping Heineken. Boat just the right size - a good crowd but not too many. Thoroughly recommended!

As the pound is so weak against the Euro, this may seem expensive to us Brits. 68 euros for a family of 3 for 1h 15 mins is quite expensive. However, if you fancy a cruise on the river this was a wonderful tour. Lovely, clean boat with roof, pulled back on this particular day as weather was good. Very generous with cheese, served on a board with mustard and grapes. The drinks we had were Chardonnay, Heineken, Ginger beer, Coke and water. More than happy to provide more drinks on request. Tour guide checked languages of passengers and spoke appropriately. Our guide spoke mostly in English (excellent English I might add). Lots of interesting things were pointed out, and lots of information about the houses, river and house boats. Our guide answered questions that passengers had. I would totally recommend this river cruise tour if this is what you fancy doing. It was in fact our favourite activity of the holiday. Did not squeeze too many people on, felt like we had enough space during this post covid time.

We really enjoyed this canal cruise, we booked on the day which was very convenient as we wanted to go when it was nice weather.
The staff we very friendly, welcoming and had great humor. We were welcomed and asked for our beverage of choice, plenty of alcohol was provided which is a plus for us.
There was about 15 of us on the boat and each pair of two received a cheese taster board each which for us we felt was enough.
One thing to note was our boat was supposed to leave at 5.45pm but left around 6pm, and then arrived back at 6.55pm (due at 7pm), so the time of 75mins is a bit misleading if you are expecting more time on the water.
Other than this we thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone coming (or living, like us) to Amsterdam.

If you're exploring Amsterdam by foot, I would highly recommend completing part of the tour on a nice comfy boat with snacks and drinks, ans still able to explore the city while taking a break. The boat I took was from the late 1800 early 1900's and the style and character of the boat made the Amsterdam experience that much greater. It was nice to have Jan as our tour guide who uncovered the many small details of Amsterdam which I would have missed. This tour was totally worth it.

An interesting cruise with fun commentary. However, it being a cold November the boat is enclosed with windows up and views restricted. The roof has 2 large sun roofs covering 1/3rd of boat. If you are not under one of them your views will be restricted
Windows vary in clarity a lot are scratched and degraded so view compromised. I expect tour in summer with windows all open including sun roofs would be a different much better experience. Although the smaller group with personal touch welcomed maybe the larger more panoramic boats would give better views.
The extra £6-7 a person for cheese and wine definitely not worth it. Most on boat didn't have this option the idiots like us who did get orange bracelets, cubed one variety of cheese and red supermarket plonk in a plastic beaker barely drinkable. It may be free flowing but who would want more

After researching many of boat cruises in Amsterdam we found one that was a great price and had cheese tasting and wine. This is a great cruise and well worth the money you pay for the local cheese (Gouda) tasting in cubes with grapes and biscuits and unlimited wine/ beer and softs served on request you can’t go wrong!
Thys and Claire were great hosts charismatic and funny making us laugh and keeping you entertained through out.
You feel at home and the boat in its self very cosy! With blankets it was a cold and drizzly day but on this experience you felt warm and at ease!
All in all a great experience and would highly recommend to any one wanting some great history facts and a genuine laugh!

Can't recommend this company anymore, we had booked a regular luxury tour and a few hours before the company rang me to let me know that due to the rain they would have to transfer us to a covered boat, which was actually the more expensive tour. They were just so incredibly sweet and kind and the tour itself was exceptional, wine and drinks ( all fantastic)all free as well as snacks. Can't wait to book with them again.

Seamless booking system, very friendly and welcoming crew when we arrived at the pick up point near Anne Frank’s House. Boarded the boat and all groups were seated together. The cheese was already laid out on the tables. It was a rainy day so the plastic windows were lowered on the sides to protect us from the rain, this didn’t obstruct our views. It was lovely to be covered in. Virginia was our guide - she was super friendly, knowledgable and a great host. She got to know everyone while managing to continue giving a fabulous guided tour and the best part was your glass was never empty! She couldn’t refill enough with wine or beer (soft drinks also available) For the price of the tour it was definitely worth it and we would highly recommend it on your first day in the city to get a feel for the areas and then you’ll have an idea where you want to wander after. Virginia was also great with ideas and suggestions for restaurants and bars and some local hints and tips. Daan was our Captain and he too was very friendly, they worked well together.
