About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- C9028IOryanr0 contributionsFantastic Private Bike Tour for FamiliesOur family of five, including kids aged 9-12, had a fantastic experience on a private bike tour with Benji. Over the course of a little more than two hours, Benji taught us how to navigate biking in Amsterdam (not for the faint of heart!) and took us on an easy-paced ride with multiple stops to share the city’s rich history. Benji’s English was excellent, and he did a great job connecting Dutch history with U.S. history, while pointing out fascinating details about the city’s architecture, layout, and culture. He kept everyone safe and together, which was no small feat with our group! At the end of the tour, he provided great recommendations for places to eat and visit during the rest of our trip.Written 25 November 2024
- Sdcle19900 contributionsAmsterdam Bike AdventureWe started off our Amsterdam trip with a private bike tour. Our guide, Peter, gave us a wonderful tour through parts of Amsterdam central and out into the country. Peter was extremely knowledgeable and witty. I would highly recommend this company, but more so, doing a ride with Peter.Written 18 November 2024

Did a lovely leisurely cycle ride through the countryside (see photo of route - watch not started until after the ferry ride on the outgoing stretch…. So a bit longer than shown). Astrid, our tour leader, taught us about water management in Amsterdam.Written 25 October 2024

- ollie-wd0 contributionsAmsterdam and its countryside overview covered in half a day…. And great pie too. This was our second long weekend visit of Amsterdam, we visited the Anne Frank museum, and then did the bike tour. Both I’d highly Reccomended, and obviously separate reasons. Piers our tour guide for the trip was excellent. We were not only treated to a very nicely paced cycle ride, he also had a good understanding and knowledge of all things Dutch and Amsterdam ! I won’t spoil the trip, by saying all about it, but if you’re wanting to cover some of Amsterdam, but get to also tour the outskirts and countryside too in a nutshell ? Highly recommend it. (especially if on a limited time schedule) Really enjoyed it, and will try a different tour with these guys next time! Thank you PiersWritten 3 October 2024

Charming villages by water with a clean fresh feel to the air. We really enjoyed the stop for apple pie and lunch with fresh lemonade. The ride is easy and flat- Willem was knowledgeable, friendly, and explained just enough to keep our interest. More riding than talking, which suited us perfectly after days of lots of beer and food!Written 19 September 2024
- paulsilverman20190 contributionsGreat bike ride from AmsterdamWe had a wonderful day biking in the countryside. It’s amazing, you start in Amsterdam near the train station and with a short ferry ride in just a few minutes you are out in the country. Our tour took us through pastures, and led us to a great little café with fresh baked homemade apple pie. Our guide willem was great, and we had wonderful time. It’s a great way to see a little bit of the Dutch countryside, not very far from Amsterdam. Well worth the time.Written 17 September 2024

We took our 10 and 14 year old sons on the city highlights tour of Amsterdam. The tour was long but covered all the areas we wanted to learn about. It is mostly flat except when riding the bridges over the canals. Our tour guide, Lynn, made multiple stops. She kept a good eye on everyone in the group to ensure we did not get separated or run over by electric bikes, cars, trams, or aggressive garbage trucks. She suggested the kids ride their bikes behind her. They had a lot of fun, and highly recommend this bike tour!
Tips:
—Ask for a kids bike, which are in the back.
—Bring or buy gloves and a hat in winter — Amsterdam branded merch in the shop are reasonably priced.
—This is a cool bike shop. Take a look at the locks.

Hello there,
Thank you for your review.
It’s great to hear that you and your sons had such a memorable time exploring Amsterdam. Lynn sounds like an excellent guide, ensuring everyone’s safety while making the tour enjoyable and informative. It’s also wonderful to know the kids had fun riding behind her and that the stops allowed everyone to take in the sights.
Your tips are super helpful—especially about kids' bikes, winter gear, and checking out the shop's merchandise and locks. These details will surely assist other families in planning their tours. Thanks for taking the time to provide such thoughtful feedback and for highly recommending the tour. We hope to see you and your family on another adventure soon.
All the best,
Thijs

Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed exploring the city and learning more about its history. It was more expensive than we were hoping to spend on a bike tour, but our guide did extend the tour beyond the normal duration to ensure we were able to see all the landmarks

Stephan was a great guide. We did the tour at 10am on Sunday morning with our 8 year old daughter. The group was nice and small, with a mix of visitors, including another 10 year old boy with his mother. The pace was perfect for both kids and adults - nice and leisurely through all of the well known, and also hidden parts of Amsterdam (which you would never even think of seeing) . The bikes are very comfortable and the company shop where we met our guide and got the bikes is very professional, and a good friendly business.
We learned a lot about the history, culture and current day in Amsterdam from Stephan, stopping historical places, local neighbourhoods, the main park (where we had a nice stop at a coffee shop), through the cultural parts, including cycling through the Rijksmuseum!
Stephan was a great guide and naturally helped the group to interact, which really added to the experience. If you want to see and learn about the local side of Amsterdam I really recommend this experience with this company.

Hello Paul,
Thank you for your review and high recommendation.
With pleasure we lear that you had an excellent tour with Stefan! The small group size and the inclusion of other children made it a perfect fit for families. The leisurely pace allowed everyone to enjoy both well-known and hidden parts of Amsterdam comfortably. It's great to hear that the bikes were comfortable and the company professional and friendly. Stefan's knowledge about Amsterdam's history, culture, and current life, along with well-timed stops, made the experience enriching. Cycling through the Rijksmuseum must have been a highlight!
How about trying our Countryside tour next time you are in town?!

Great tour with a good mix of biking around the city and stops for history talks. Our guide Steffen was great, nice sense of humor and knowledge of the city history and he always made sure no one in the group got left behind. Would definitely recommend as a great first day in the city activity to get your bearings! We had pre-booked for two people and they very kindly accommodated a third person from our family which was greatly appreciated.

I was in Amsterdam around February-March time and this short tour allowed me to explore the city quickly for a good budget. I really enjoyed the stops we made at several well known locations around town and how the tour guide explained the history of the city. We made a quick stop at a café half way through the tour (although there is no paid food). I would really recommend anyone who is coming to Amsterdam to explore the city on bike!

Myself, my husband and my brother really enjoyed the tour given by Benjamin, our young, very charismatic tour guide. Benjamin was very friendly and informative and all three of us would highly recommend this tour. Having a tour guide to take us safely through the very busy streets of Amsterdam gave us the confidence to cycle round the city and at the same time learn many interesting facts about the city.

We did the city tour as a group of 4 friends and we’re paired with a family of 4 for a total group size of 8. Thijs was our tour guide and he was awesome. He handled our group of varying skill levels very safely and made sure everyone was taken care of. At one point, one of our party got a tire flat and he was able to fix it very quickly with minimal disturbance to the tour. He also clearly loves Amsterdam and it’s history and was able to share historical and cultural viewpoints that made the tour totally worth it. Our whole group ended up renting bikes for two days from the shop, which comes with a 20% discount if you do the tour. If you simply want to tour the city with a knowledgeable guide, or orient yourself on a bike in Amsterdam so you can get comfortable with navigating the city, I highly recommend this tour.

We had Jesse, and he was an amazing guide! The tour is not physically exhausting, more mentally exhausting having to always be aware of traffic, but it’s a good experience of what Amsterdam is. My father and I learned a lot of interesting historical information from Jesse, who also was willing to sit with us and get to know us personally during the break. The size of the group is perfect- you can tell if one person is missing. All in all I highly recommend for anyone visiting Amsterdam, and they want to experience the city in a day.

I recently took a three-hour bike tour starting at 10:00 am on Sunday, September 22, 2024, and it was an unforgettable experience! Our guide was absolutely spectacular—knowledgeable, friendly, and truly passionate about the city's history. From start to finish, the tour was engaging and suitable for all skill levels.
The ride itself was excellent, offering a perfect blend of leisurely cycling and fascinating stops along the way. Our guide's enthusiasm and storytelling brought Amsterdam’s rich history to life, making each stop even more enjoyable. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable, safe, and having a great time.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Amsterdam in a fun, active, and informative way. It’s a must-do for anyone visiting the city—whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just starting out. Five stars all the way!

One of our favorite tours we took! Our guide was so friendly, helpful to navigate as first time bikers in this city, and had a wealth of knowledge of the history and day to day life. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see outside of the basic tours. I absolutely loved it and so did my husband!

Hi, my daughter is 9 year old, would she need to sit on the back of my bike or will she have her own smaller sized bike? If she needs to ride her own bike, she will be probably quite slow, will that slow down the whole group? What is the price difference between she sitting on my bike and she riding her own bike?
Written 6 July 2022
They have smaller bikes for children, my 12 year old got a smaller bike. Very leisurely pace. No rush anywhere. All small distances with lots of stops for history of Amsterdam. Your daughter would manage no problem.
Written 7 July 2022
Do we stop and take a tour of the Anne Frank House, or do we only ride past it on the bikes?
Written 7 May 2022
We made a stop on the other side of the canal near the Anne Frank house, but John P is correct in that the bicycle tour does not include a tour of the Anne Frank house and museum. That is about a 2-hour process just for the tour. As far as I know there are no tickets available for purchase except in advance. Tickets go on sale through the Museum website about 6 weeks in advance, and my observation is that they are pretty much sold out of tickets within a few days of those tickets being released for sale.
