Overview
If you’re new to the Netherlands and aren’t sure which Dutch foods to try, allow a local to walk you through Amsterdam’s delicacies. Get a fun perspective on delicious street foods with an intimate small group tour. Try local cheeses, sweets, and coffee while ambling the streets of old world Jordan and up and coming Oud West.
What to Expect
Wondering what the Dutch are eating at breakfast, lunch and diner? Are you open to try some traditional Dutch food and snacks? Then you should not miss this experience!
We are inviting you to join us on a walk around Amsterdam’s trendy Jordaan - the oldest and the most picturesque part of Amsterdam -and Oud West - the up and coming part of Amsterdam - neighbourhoods  to visit the local yummy hotspots. Nibble on mini sandwiches with famous Dutch cheese, taste Dutch herring the way the locals eat it and taste the best syrup waffles we can find.
We will welcome you with a freshly brewed coffee from a local specialty coffee place. We'll taste the best Dutch cheese in a traditional (non-touristy) cheese shop and try the most mature & pungent cheeses made in the Netherlands.  We'll walk around Amsterdam’s hip indoor foodhall market, that used to be a huge tram station! We will also stroll around one of the local outdoor market discovering and tasting fresh local food just the way the Dutch like it. At several places you can also buy some extra food if you want to take home. Think about bringing home some good Chocolate, Candies or a piece of old and tasty Cheese.
During our time together we will tell you more about the neighbourhood and share our tips on yummiest places around town.
Come on an empty stomach!
Duration: 3 hours
Time: 10.30am – 1.30pm (Wednesday to Saturday) or 1.30pm - 4.30pm (Thursday and Friday)

Great opportunity to explore and sample local foods

Stephan's Food Tour was one of the highlights of our trip Amsterdam. There was a great selection of local foods to try, particularly fresh food from the market. Our host was very friendly and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of his city.

Tasty and exciting tour

The tour was lovely, we visited several nice non-touristic places and also got some insights into Amsterdam history. Stephan is a really friendly and nice person, so it was never boring while walking from one place to another.

All flat walking on sidewalks. Did not walk very fast. Lots of stops on the way.
