Finding the best places to eat in a city as big as Amsterdam can be challenging. Skip the hassle with a guided, private tasting tour. On this walk, you sample local delicacies while learning about the city’s food culture from a local guide. Experience authentic Amsterdam tastes at a family-run restaurant, beer cafe, and local market, and receive personalized recommendations and undivided attention from your private tour guide.

What to Expect

Begin your food odyssey at Museumplein in the city centre, at a start time that suits your schedule. Meet your guide and stroll to the local Albert Cuyp market to visit and sample from one of the best fish vendors in town. Take time to browse the busy market before pausing for a stroopwafel, a typical Dutch sweet made with caramel and wafer.

Next, pop into a cafe in De Pijp for a speciality drink, and then on to a local family-run restaurant for more authentic cuisine. Learn about the international influences on Dutch food from your guide and immerse yourself in the city’s food culture as you sit surrounded by locals.

Finish your tour with a short stroll to a beer cafe and get a true taste of tradition with a cheese platter.

Once you’ve had your fill of food and recommendations, you bid your guide farewell in central Amsterdam.

Did not realize the varying cuisine of Amsterdam

Dina was so nice and helpful. She had just had an accident on her bike but kept on being a great hostess. She showed us unique areas and food that we never would have found. We visited a market with the best dessert we had tasted.
