About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- bbmaxwell0 contributionsA truly amazing day tour with Hans and CarstenThis tour was the most educational and definitely one of the best I've been on with a trip advisor booking. The group was small so we were able to meet and talk with the other people in the group. The tour bus was very comfortable, and the driver, Carsten, was such a smooth driver that I did not have to take my motion sickness pill. As for our guide, Hans, he was an expert of the areas we visited, sharing all the history and details with the group. Hans used the speaker system while narrating, so it was very clear and audible throughout the tour. The information that Hans provided to inform us of the history and background of the places we visited was a basic expectation of a great tour, and Hans met every aspect of my expectations. Hans was definitely an experienced professional at guiding tourists like us. Many thanks and appreciation for a job well done. I would definitely book another tour with Grayline Zurich.Written 2 December 2024

- geraldj4620 contributionsCancelledMy tour was booked months in advance, was canceled the evening before departure. It was not the cancellation, but the lateness of the cancellation. This was my last tour booked, and the other tours they offered, I had done. I asked for a refund, and it was given promptly. All tours cancelled by operator, should be at least 24hrs in advance, the same amount of time I am required to give the operator.Written 17 November 2024
- geraldj4620 contributionsListen to the instructionsFantastic tour. It takes a lot of tour organizational skills to keep everyone on a tight time schedule. There are trains to board that can’t be missed. Our tour guide “Kid” was amazing. Kid kept us moving, on schedule, and still made sure each of us had the best pictures. Dress in layers, listen for the instructions given, and hydrate plenty due to the altitude. Bring gloves, sun glasses, chapstick, water, and shoes for ice and snow. Last, get a good nights rest, and show up early to the checkin booth. There is a free restroom next door to the checkin booth, and plz use before you board the bus. The bus leaves right on time, as there are trains to catch. This is a must adventure, recommend.Written 15 November 2024
- Q8692HNericas0 contributionsTop Of EuropeThis was hands down the most amazing trip I’ve ever been on. Our tour guide Kid, Grey Line tours, was the best!! He is so fun and made sure we had the best time. He also helped us make the most out of our experience by taking all the pictures and videos of us individually and with whoever you were with!! The man needs a raise!! The weather was perfect and our group was great. If you’re on the bus and you’re making the stop in interlaken or Grindelwald, and not going to the top of Europe, you will regret it! Upgrade your trip, go to the very top and soak In all the views! It’s even beautiful on the way down!! Thank you Kid for an amazing day! You’re the best! (We visited on Nov 10 2024..) Travis & Erica!Written 10 November 2024
- Mldthompson0 contributionsWaste of MoneyNot long after the tour started the guide went round everyone trying to upgrade our tickets to go on the 'Top of Europe' trip. Cash only was the option and card was not accepted. We had to decline due to this as the additional amount was around 200 Swiss francs which we hadn't carried with us. When we arrived in Grindelwald we were dropped slightly away from the centre (5-10 min walk) and had to ask the driver how to get into the town as the guide had gone with the group that paid extra and the driver was just going to drive off. When we got into town we found just about everything was closed as it was a local holiday. The guide had told us about Grindelwald First and that was also closed. So much for being a good guide. With it being a holiday the trip shouldn't have even gone ahead. We ended up getting a train back one stop to the Eiger and spent our time there as did others on the trip who had found themselves in the same position as us. We worked out we could have saved nearly 50% of the trip cost doing it ourselves.Written 9 November 2024
- hanesmd0 contributionsGreat staffVery competent driver. And informative host. Both did very well. The views were very picturesque. Definitely a trip worth taking. I wish it left earlier morning (9 am) to take in more views on the return drive.Written 5 November 2024
- kjf_x0 contributionsJust amazing. No other word for the trip, it was just amazing. From start to finish the trip was fab, there were so many different views and sights to see. The trip was via bus, train and cable car and it was so nice seeing the different views of the towns as well as the beautiful mountains! Kid was the best tour guide and it was just such a great experience!!Written 4 November 2024

- Pat P0 contributionsDay tour from ZurichEnjoyable day trip from Zurich offering the opportunity to take in the scenery around Zurich, Lake Zurich, Lake Walenese along with visits to the old town of Rapperswil, the Principality of Liechtenstein and the home of Heidi at Heididorf. The day was ideal for travel, despite been mid October allowing it to be a pleasure to leave the bus at any of the stops. Only fault would be that at any of the stops there was insufficient time to have a meal - can be a long day from leaving Zurich at 11am before returning at 6:40 pm.Written 27 October 2024
- Jeannie A0 contributionsTour not to be missedStart to finish, it was a well-run and interesting tour. Ramond was a stellar guide and Carsten an excellent driver. We saw incredible countryside, lovely towns, and we were given ample time to see what we came to see. The lunch recommendation was perfect, and the other travelers were kind and friendly. 5🌟 all the way.Written 21 October 2024
- emilymac950 contributionsTruly amazingFabulous tour, lots of information to take in and very beautiful scenery. We had plenty of time in each location we stopped to explore. - sn7410 contributionsUp, Up and Away Day!What a fun filled day. Kid was our guide and he did a spectacular job of keeping us in line and safe and on point to see everything. He knows what he’s doing, although you don’t want to at first, pay attention to him. The sights are incredible and the cogwheel train and then the cable car was unforgettable. And it really wasn’t cold. Many of us felt dizzy but he urged us to take our coats off and that helped a lot. Great day!Written 15 October 2024
- sdaniels20140 contributionsRipped offIt is advertised and sold as a two hour tour. It is NOT a two hour tour. It's 1.5 hours with 20 minute stop. Disappointed. Had to sit and wait for the driver to get off the phone before we left.Written 14 October 2024

Traveled from the United States to Switzerland for the first time. Planned this particular tour in Zürich ahead of time. This tour took us to Germany to view the cuckoo clock manufacturing facility, and then to the Rhein Falls in the Black Forrest. Suzanne was our guide, and Armando our bus driver. The time allotted for the trip was perfect, and we stayed right on schedule with ample time to view the areas we visited. Suzanne was an amazing guide with lots of information all along the way. Each piece of information was very interesting and applicable. This was the best tour I have ever been on. We visited a cuckoo clock manufacturing facility, and the details given by the crafters was very impressive. Of course we ended up buying a cuckoo clock and having it shipped home. Afterword we went to the Rhein Falls which were absolutely stunning and we had plenty of time to view everything we wanted and have lunch. I would highly recommend tours with the gray line, and I will tell my friends to check them out if they come to Switzerland. I would give 10 stars.

Ramon our tour guide was great. Really interacted with tourists to make sure they all got their pictures taking . We had some of the group who didn't listen to him or have consideration of others. But Ramon made the tour great even with that. Great views

I was there yesterday on the Black Forest & Rheinfall tour. Although it rained all day, the trip was really great! The driver drove great and was very accommodating by helping everyone off the bus. The tour guide was also very friendly and could tell us a lot during the tour. I really recommend this tour to anyone of any age group. This tour is certainly something nice to do for families too. I will once again take part in a tour with Hans Meier Tourist AG.

Overall, good tour to take. For Black Forest, we thought we would be walking in the Forest, but it was a tour of a town in Black Forest. So, that was slightly different than our expectation. But the German city was beautiful and it was the worth the visit. And we can see the Black Forest from the city. Tour gave you enough time to sit down and have a coffee or desert in many of outside cafés to enjoy the view and weather. One warning, some spots don’t accept credit cards. We waste ~15-20 min trying to get the cash from ATM, which kind of ruined our experience. The 2nd stop, Rhine Fall, was amazing!! Take the boat tour (~15 min). Our driver took closer to the fall (everyone got wet a bit), which was great!!! They however, need to start this little early. All the shops in the waterfall areas were closed, so just walking around the area is all we could do.

Great experience and was as advertised. The coach was really nice, clean. Beautiful drive up into the black Forrest of Germany. We were in Titisee for maybe 2 hours, just enough time for lunch and a walk thru town. We elected to pay 8 franc for the boat ride at Rhine falls and really enjoyed ourselves. If your looking for a casual excursion this is a good one

What a waste of money. Two hour trip into a German tourist trap. Directed to an approved restaurant and encouraged to buy watches. Guide knew little to nothing about the area and repeated themselves over and over. While this tour is not terribly expensive, it consumes seven hours of your day. This time would be better spent conducting your own tour elsewhere.

Our tour guide was a lovely man from South America, Raymond.
He was very kind, happy and had a bubbly personality which made our trip even more fun. Three cheers to Raymond!
The trip was perfectly timed. The bus had WiFi and AC, and also reclining seats.
Our hotel was right in front of the Zurich central bus station from where all tours leave, and this tour operator has an info cart right there. Our hotel was called Fred Walhalla.
We liked this tour so much we booked another with the same tour company upon our return to Mt. Titlis, however the other guide, an older gentleman with a German accent, was not as nice and had a patronising attitude and a sense of humor so dry it would put the desert to shame.
At any rate, recommend the tours with Raymond as a tour guide specially!

We enjoyed the scenic tour. We stopped at a sweet little town in the Black Forest for an authentic German lunch & great souvenir shopping. It is a fair amount of walking from the bus to the village. Some steep inclines. The cuckoo clock demonstration was ho-hum really, rushed. The Rhine Falls is something to behold! So powerful! We did not do the boat ride; we walked all the way around the falls to some overlooks that are very close to the falls. Beautiful pictures. Again, not entirely handicapped accessible, a fair bit of walking.
