What to expect
  • The Chianti area lies between the cities of Florence and Siena. It is a hilly, wooded region made lush and green by abundant winter rains and many natural springs. It is very stony and farmers have been able to use it to grow grapes and olives and not much else. For centuries this has been the natural habitat of the native varietals Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino. Together these give life to one of the best-known wines in the world: Chianti, which takes its name from the land where it was born. • Guided tour of an organic or biodynamic vineyard, with tastings of Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva and Supertuscan wines and extra virgin olive oil • Free time to explore a medieval village in the Chianti area • Farmhouse lunch and tasting of Chianti Classico red wines and extra virgin olive oils at a second family-run winery

Unmatched!
Truly fantastic tour with Eugenio. Delicious wine, safe driving, great conversation throughout but also the ability to relax and just enjoy. We learned so much about wine, history, and modern Italian culture. Top notch!!! Worth every euro! We have been with another tour company before in Chianti, which was great, but this beats it out all day due to Giacomo’s personalized itinerary, Eugenio’s hosting, and the small and intimate wineries we visited.

Well planned and very insightful guides - Incredible wines
Feb 2020
This trip was so well planned and Giacomo was excellent to work with. He selected two fantastic winerys which both had different set-ups, and very very welcoming. It was fascinating to see the different scales of wine production, and the hosts at both winerys were very welcoming and made the trip amazing. The wines were great, food was tailored to our requirements, and it felt as though we were welcomed into their homes. Giacomo and his colleagues were also very insightful on the drive to the winerys and we learnt so much.

Thanks again for a fantastic day.

Tuscany with Giovanni the Best!
Oct 2019
We so enjoyed seeing the small, family run wineries with Giovanni. As a local, who understands agriculture and the cultivation of wine and oil, we could not have asked for a better guide. Giovanni taught us all about the process, challenges and the art of the region. He's obviously well liked by the owners and that extended to us during our visits. We continue to cite the knowledge we gained from him as we enjoy the many bottles we had sent home. I really appreciated his willingness to talk about pop culture, football and Fiorenza, and even politics! A delightful day with him.

Highlight of our trip!
Oct 2019 • Friends
Highlight of our trip! Depending on how big your group is, this tour might be a little bit more expensive than the big bus tours that you can book. I booked this tour with 3 of my friends because we decided we were willing to pay a little bit more money to get the exact experience we wanted and it was worth every penny! The best part of a private tour is that you are able to go at your own pace. We were also able to work with Giacomo beforehand to make sure the experience was exactly what we wanted! I appreciated the small family run wineries that we visited and the highlight of the day was eating our homemade Italian lunch overlooking the hills of Tuscany! If I am lucky enough to make it back to Tuscany I would definitely want to try one of the other tours!

Also, a big shout out to our guide Enrico! He was amazing and definitely knew his wine!

Nothing short of amazing!
Sep 2019
My boyfriend, myself, and two of our best friends went on this tour (the private one) and it was absolutely incredible! Right away from reaching out for information, we received top-notch service with timely responses (even with the time difference) and a ton of helpful information! Our tour guide was incredible and SO informative. Everything about the experience was perfect and the four of us will never forget the memories made on this tour! I HIGHLY recommend this experience.. you'd be missing out if you didn't book!

Best Birthday, Best Tour!
Oct 2019
What a special day - we went on a family trip to Italy to celebrate new beginnings. I had just finished my chemo treatments and was on the mend and all of the children had graduated college and were moving forward with their careers. This special day added to a trip of a lifetime. Giacomo instantly became a friend and not a tour guide. We were shown around the wineries as friends. At the second winery Villa Maggiore, we had a delicious wine paired lunch where we learned all about the colors of the wine and how to tell the age of the wine. What a very special day! We were even gifted a bottle of wine for my birthday!! I cannot recommend this tour enough - you will not be disappointed

Chianti Tour with Giacomo
Sep 2019
I cannot recommend this tour enough. We were in Florence for our wedding and decided that our idea of a "rehearsal" dinner would be a day touring the Chianit countryside. Giacomo arranged an outstanding day for our group of 30 people. Giacomo was engaging, informative and worked with us to plan a day we'll always remember! Needless to say, the wine was delicious. We visited two wineries with out of this world views and the welcome we received at each winery was delightful. At our second winery, we enjoyed an incredible meal featuring local delicacies and everyone left full and very happy. We had such a memorable trip and I cannot wait to visit again. Thanks, Giacomo!

Fantastic
Oct 2019 • Couples
We put together a bespoke day with Tuscan Organic tours which combined aspects from a few of its pre-planned trips. The group was very easy to work with, and very helpful in planning.
The day itself turned out perfectly. We visited small farms and wineries that we never would have found. The wine, cheese, oil, and food that we tried was all unbelievable. The scenery was breathtaking. Our guide, Enrico, was super interesting, knowledgeable, and entertaining.
This day was the highlight of our trip to Tuscany. While it was expensive, it was absolutely worth it - so much was included, from the time of our wonderful guide and hosts to the large quantity of amazing food and wine we were able to sample. Not to be missed.

Like being shown around town by an old friend!
Oct 2019
My wife and I were enthralled with our trip through Tuscany with this tour. Our tour guide, Giovanni, picked us up at our hotel with a warm smile and set us at ease while explaining the inner workings and history of the region's wine and the culture around it. He was amicable and knowledgeable, talking us to a couple of wineries, small towns, and joining us for a memorable home-cooked lunch overlooking the beautiful Tuscan hills. It sounds like a postcard, and honestly, it felt like one.

I'd happily recommend this tour to anyone I know visiting the area, and would certainly tell them to ask for Giovanni.

Do not miss the Hidden Tuscany tour!!!
Sep 2019 • Couples
This was without a doubt, by far, the BEST day of our week-long Italy trip. Do yourself a favor and book the Hidden Tuscany tour with Giovanni. It was absolutely magical!!!
Giovanni picked the 6 of us (3 couples) up at our hotel in Florence at 9am on the dot. We drove about an hour outside of Florence to a small family winery called Montemorli in the Tuscan countryside. On the drive over, Giovanni told us a bunch of interesting and fun facts about the region and Chianti wine. When we got to Montemorli, the owner Vittorio gave us a tour of the winery, and then sat us at a table on the porch overlooking the vineyards and vegetable gardens. We did a wine tasting with three wines and some food pairings of bruschetta (with tomatoes from the garden, YUM!), cheese and meats. We were also given the option to ship back wines and olive oils to the USA for very reasonable prices, which we absolutely did.
Next, we headed to a pecorino cheese farm (which is also a local inn) close by. When we got out of the car, we saw the farm owner Giovanni on his tractor tending to the farm. We then met his daughter Natalia, who is the main cheese maker. She gave us a tour and walked us through the process of making pecorino cheese from the sheep that live on the farm. After that, we were taken to the main house and sat on the porch overlooking the beautiful hills and the tiny town of Radicondoli. We had the most glorious lunch prepared by the farmer’s wife Giovanna, with all the ingredients from the farm, as well as pitchers of local Chianti. We felt so immersed in real Italian life, as the whole family and some of the people staying at the inn all joined us at the large dining table on the porch, and were all talking to each other in Italian. Our tour guide Giovanni was great in translating for us and we felt like part of the family!
After lunch, we headed to the small town of Casole (originally supposed to be Radicondoli but a storm was brewing over there). We had espressos at a pub in Casole, and bought some antipasti at a small shop. This town felt like it was stopped in time, what an experience.
This ended our day tour, and Giovanni drove us directly to our hotel to drop us off.
This tour showed us the authentic Italian countryside. We left feeling relaxed, but also having learned so much, and we were super satisfied with the reasonable pricing. This tour will book up, so reserve your spots as early as you can (we booked 2 months in advance).
What a hidden gem!
