Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano Day Trip from Florence Including Lunch

Overview

Leave the bustle of Florence behind and venture into the Tuscan countryside: on this tour, you’ll see many of the region’s most popular landmarks in the space of a single day. Traveling via a comfortable, air-conditioned bus, you’ll venture to Siena, enjoy a traditional Tuscan lunch, explore the medieval town of San Gimignano, and get up close to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

What to Expect

This full-day tour begins at the conveniently located Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence. Meet your guide, climb aboard your air-conditioned coach, and set off for the Tuscan countryside.

The first stop on your tour is Siena, which is famous for its medieval–era architecture and which has UNESCO World Heritage status. Follow your guide to the Siena Cathedral, which features a distinctive, black-and-white façade and even more opulent interior.

Next, sit down for a hearty, three-course lunch at a local winery or restaurant. From pasta to bruschetta and beyond, you’ll sample traditional Tuscan dishes and enjoy several glasses of local wine.

Climb back aboard your bus and continue to the hilltop town of San Gimignano, which is rich in medieval history and known for its many towers. You’re free to explore its sights independently.

The final stop on your full-day tour is Pisa. Enjoy time at your leisure to explore the Piazza del Duomo—another UNESCO World Heritage Site—and its many landmarks, including the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Pisa Cathedral.

The tour ends upon your return to central Florence.

Great Tour

Thoroughly enjoyable day with Brando as our guide. He was excellent with a great sense of humour and wonderful with kids. Our four year old thought he was the best. It’s a full on day, but highly recommended. Thanks for driving us as well Luca.
