Overview

The Accademia Gallery, originally a 14th-century hospital and then a fine art school, is a must-see museum in Florence— with the crowds to match. With these exclusive, skip-the-line tickets, you’ll breeze past the entrance lines and get direct access to the world-famous art inside, including Renaissance masterpieces like Michelangelo’s David. Plus, you'll be able to explore at your own pace without waiting for a tour group.

What to Expect

The Accademia Gallery—home to Michelangelo’s David, the legendary Renaissance sculpture— is at the top of every Florence itinerary. But with these VIP tickets, you’ll skip the long entrance lines and enter the museum directly.

Explore on your own, taking time to visit paintings by other Renaissance masters like Botticelli and Filippino Lippi, and masterworks from the Middle Ages to the 17th century. You can also make a stop at the on-site Museum of Musical Instruments, where you’ll find intriguing exhibits of antique stringed instruments.

Many museum-goers head straight to Michelangelo’s larger-than-life, world-famous marble warrior David, which he completed while he was still in his twenties. But don’t forget to check out Michelangelo’s other sculptures on view, including the unfinished work San Matteo, from 1506.

There’s also the Hall of Prisoners, where his innovative Prigioni series is housed. Michelangelo’s talent is on full display with these four marble men struggling to free themselves from blocks of white marble. You can take time to view the works at your leisure, and spend as much time as you’d like before leaving the museum.

We only booked the ‘Skip the Line’ tickets as we wanted to see the museum at our own speed. We don’t think a guide is necessary as there are attendants all around if you want to know something specific. In the music section there are...More

Bucket List Item

It was smart to pre-purchase our tickets to the Gallery online, as the masses of people lined up to access the Gallery were large and somewhat confusing. We exchanged our voucher for tickets at the ticket office across the street from the Gallery and then...More

The attraction is great; finding the guy who has the tickets wasn't

This is great for reducing your wait in line to get into this small but amazing museum. However, it is such utter chaos outside that it's quite difficult to find the person who has your tickets. Moreover, the directions said look for a person with...More

Had a fantastic, informative tour with Sam who filled our visit with humour and information. I was completely hooked for the whole hour and even our children (9 and 11), who find an hour long discussion of sculpture a bit full on, enjoyed it. Well...More
