The Bernina Express between Switzerland and Italy is one of Europe’s most spectacular train journeys and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This tour whisks you across the route in one day, with everything planned ahead of time, including a coach ride to Tirano, a ride on the Bernina Express railway to St Moritz in Switzerland, free time in the Swiss resort town, and a return to Milan by coach.
What to Expect

Meet your guide in central Milan and set out on the journey to Tirano on air-conditioned coach. Soak up the scenery as you head north into the foothills of the Alps, and enjoy free time to explore Tirano.

Next, step aboard the red-painted train carriages of the Bernina Express and enjoy unbeatable views from panoramic windows. The around 2.5-hour train ride takes in one of the most impressive sections of the Bernina route, including views of Lake Como, the spiral viaduct of Brusio, and the mountains of the Bernina Pass. As you cross into Switzerland, pass snow-covered peaks, wild gorges, and Swiss Alps, before stopping at the ski resort of St Moritz.

In St Moritz, enjoy lunch (own expense), admire the alpine scenery, or stroll the historic town and browse for souvenirs.

After meeting with your guide, return to Milan by coach, where your tour ends at the departure point.

Such a nice ride to the alps. The chocolate store Laderach had excellent chocolates. Do make time to run down to the lake and take pictures if you can. Such a nice trip.

Dear Gladys, you don't need any VISA for Switzerland. Switzerland, even if not a member of the EU, is a Schengen country. If you don't need a EU VISA or you already have one, you don't have any problem travelling to Switzerland. At your disposal.
