This was our first time using With Locals and it was wonderful. From my initial visit to the website to the end of our tour the experience was flawless. Margherita was an amazing tour guide. She showed us all the sites we had on our list to see and some things we would never have known to look for. Her knowledge of Bologna and stories of the town's history were just what we were looking for. I have already recommended her to two other travelers. My husband has some mobility issues and Margherita was very considerate of his needs.

I am a travel agent and I sent me clients on a walking tour of Bologna with Paolo. They had a wonderful time. They loved his historical knowledge and he took them down logs of cool alleyways and showed cool architecture. Paolo is very open to doing what the client wants. My clients were unsure what they wanted to see so Paolo took them to the canals first and that was perfect. His communication with me was excellent. I would definitely recommend Paolo as a guide.

Marco was an amazing tour lead! We arrived from Florence and didn’t have anything planned for our travel day. We quickly saw Marco’s available wine and small bites and so about we did! He went out of his way to accommodate our dietary needs and took us to great local spots. Highly recommend Marco and thanks for the great time!

First guide never responded despite two msgs/reminders. Second one very nice and amicable person. Asked € 300 for a walk with two guests incl. a snack and glass of wine, however. Excessive Withlocals cut.

We got a great intro to Bologna in just 2 hours. Thorough overview of city highlights and a great list of things to eat and explore after. Just what we needed to make the most of our time.

My husband and I really enjoyed this walking tour with friendly and kind Gabi. Gabi showed us so much that we never would have seen on our own, nor known the history behind. We love off-the-beaten-path experiences that make us feel connected to a city and this tour really hit that mark for us. Thank you, Gabi, for a really unique experience, for the best pizza we had during our entire stay in Rome, and for the excellent restaurant recommendations, which we took advantage of as well! We had a wonderful tour with Frederik. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the city and it’s history. We were only there for the day, and he was able to cover a great deal of information about the city, and showed us many of the highlights, as well. He also gave us a recommendation for an authentic food and wine tasting which completed our visit to Bologna. I would highly recommend taking a tour with Frederik.

We did a kickstart city tour with Frederik and he was great! It was sweltering hot so he was very thoughtful to keep us in the shade as much as possible and let us take our time since we had two kids with us. He knows a lot about Bologna and this was a nice way to start our trip!

Absolutely first-class tour of Bologna. Frederik did exactly what we asked him to do and gave us an amazing tour of the city, showing us things we would never have found on our own. He really knows the city inside out and gave us some useful tips for the rest of our stay.

We had a wonderful time on our tour of Ravenna with Eletta. We met her at the train station in Bologna and took the train with her to Ravenna. On the train, she explained Italian history and how it related to what we saw. She bought all the tickets in advance and we were able to quickly move through any lines to see the beautiful mosaics. Eletta is an art professor and an expert in art history. She explained all of the dazzling artwork. There is no way that we could have navigated all of the sites on our own in one day. We had a delicious lunch at the beautiful market. She kindly helped us order, as most of the servers did not speak English. She also stopped twice for us to have a cappuccino. Thank you Eletta for sharing your love of art with others. We had a wonderful time on our tour and learned so much.

We picked Isadora based on other reviews and we were very happy with our 3-hour walking tour of Bologna's historic center. Isadora is very friendly, knowledgeable and her English is outstanding. It was clear she gave a lot of thought to the information she provided - it was rich with information but always highlighted with a memorable story for each stop on our tour. She seemed to enjoy all of our questions and was happy to provide additional information whatever the topic. The tour ends in the Mercata de Mezzo where Isadora gets the opportunity to talk about the food of the Emilia-Romagna region, which is a real treat!
