About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Sightseer7997290 contributionsWonderful night tour with MatteoOn our first night in town my 18yo son and I did the night tour with Matteo. When we arrived downstairs, he was already waiting for us. He asked if there were special items we wanted to make sure see and we just trusted him to show us the highlights. He spoke English very well and answered all of our questions along the way. Very knowledgeable and one of our favorite activities on our trip. So much that we are booking the secret tour for our last day here. He had water and blankets for us in case we got cold since it is January. Highly recommend.Written 17 January 2025

- Dream135892901370 contributionsGolf cart tour - an exotic experienceOur guides Francesco and Alex were thorough historians. They arrived on time and ended the tour on time. We were taken to places which otherwise we would not have ever seen. Each place has a story to unfold and was beautifully unfolded by our guides. To add: as they narrated their pride and passion too was evident. The golf cart tour is an exotic experience because you don’t have to either walk or stand in a queue thereby saving you on your time.Written 7 January 2025
- J1279HLcynthiam0 contributionsExcellent Food Tour by golf cartMy Mom and sister and I just today did the Rome Food Tour by golf cart with Emiliano and it was wonderful! We’ve been to Rome before so he took us to some places off the typical tourist path, which was great. Emiliano is very personable and knowledgeable and we had a wonderful time with him. Very good tour, highly recommend!Written 30 December 2024
- Vacation153467488700 contributionsExploring RomeExploring Rome on a golf cart tour was an unforgettable experience! Our guide, Flavio, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making the tour both informative and fun. Despite the windy weather, the covered golf cart provided a cozy refuge, allowing us to enjoy the sights without feeling the chill. We zipped through the city's historic streets, marveling at iconic landmarks while Flavio shared fascinating stories. The combination of comfort and adventure made for an enjoyable outing. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Rome in a unique way!Written 24 December 2024

- YingYingChan0 contributionsA tour not to be missed.Had an absolutely fantastic time on this tour. We booked 2 carts for our family of 4. Our guides Duccio and Riccardo are wonderfully storytellers with great knowledge of the city sights. They are also patient, thoughtful, humorous and most importantly went above and beyond to help us with our requests to find a good lunch place and florist to buy flowers. They brought us to a local restaurant with brilliant pasta, authentic, non-touristy and value for money. Our family had a great and enjoyable time. Thanks Duccio and Riccardo!Written 2 December 2024

It was a fantastic way to see the city and it's incredibly beautiful all lit up and without the crowds. Federico showed us some great sights and regaled us with its history and fun facts! - kimcE463CE0 contributionsNight tour of RomeWe are just back from the night tour of Rome with Turtle Tours. Our guide was Vito and he was very enthusiastic and informative. I liked that it was semi-customizable. We had seen the Pantheon yesterday so I suggested we skip that and throw in the Triton Fountain instead. At several stops you can get out and take pictures. Even though the Trevi Fountain doesn’t have water in it and has barriers around it while it’s being refurbished, there are clear panels that allow views of it and I still enjoyed seeing it. Also, lots fewer people at 9, 9:30 pm. Dress warmly. Blankets, which were offered on a similar tour in Lisbon a few weeks ago, would have been a nice touch. All in all, I appreciated the overview of the city as we begin to explore it.Written 1 November 2024

I was in Rome for a few days before catching a cruise back to the US. I had arranged the golf cart tour because I was only in Rome for about 48 hours. I signed up and took two tours, a tour during the day, and another tour the next night (Rome by night).
Mimmo was my guide for both tours. When he arrived we discussed a plan that would include going to see a lot of the big sights by day, and then catching some of the sites that are crowded during the day, during the night tour. Mimmo customized the tour to what I enjoyed seeing and we were off!
Seeing Rome by golf cart can be a little bumpy due to the cobblestone streets, but it also allows you to get to places off the beaten path. Back streets off the tourist trek, with glimpses of Roman life...was amazing. I would never have been able to see these places on any other tour.
Mimmo explained right off that Rome is like a lasagna, a different layer as you dig deeper...and he was very right. The history and connecting all of it together is really something, something Mimmo was able to do in the order of the tour. Everything in Rome is done on purpose, it seems, to make a statement and show alliance.
I can't recommend the tours enough, Mimmo was very knowledgable, and takes great interest in showing his city. He organized the tour to what interested me, and packed in a lot into a total of 5 hours. I would not hesitate to recommend the tours, especially if you are on a time crunch to see the city. Thank you!

Vittorio arrived promptly at pickup time. He spoke very good English and was thorough in his explanations of what we were seeing. He adjusted/customized our tour to what interested us. He would ask if we wanted to know more or if we would like to continue to another site. Our tour was from 8-10 pm which gave us a unique perspective on many of the places we visited while at the same time limiting our view on others. But we loved the lights all around Rome! Truly spectacular.
We did have a close encounter with a bus- no one was hurt and no real damage- but the scrape of our cart’s fender with a giant bus tire was enough to kick the excitement into hyperdrive!!😳 The thrills of riding through the narrow streets filled with cars, motorcycles, scooters, pedestrians, buses, cafe tables and patrons was an unforgettable experience that I recommend everyone have. It gave us an overview that helped us get the “lay of the land” on our first night in Rome. Definitely a “must do”!!

The golf cart tour and other guided tours arranged by Matt were superb, the best way possible to maximize the Roman experience. As the first American tourists after Italy re-opened, we were treated with real warmth by our guides, who were both knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history and culture of their city. Of my three trips to Rome and Florence, this was the best; and for my teenaged granddaughter, this was an eye-opening introduction to the glories of travel in Italy. Matt’s impeccable sense of organization and attention to detail made our trip perfect in every way.

Vittorio was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide. He was very willing to take photos for us and even went back to retrieve my water bottle that fell off the golf cart! We covered a lot of ground in the 3-hour tour, which was a great value since we definitely wouldn't have made it to that many places on foot or by car, given how much traffic there is and how chaotic it is in the historic center. In the golf cart we were able to zip around the narrowest alleys and I felt like we were in a Mission Impossible movie! The only thing we missed out on was seeing Vatican City, which was a shame but I understand since our hotel was farther away that it required more time to drop us off. Overall this was a great introduction to the main monuments of Rome and will set you up for a well informed rest of your trip.

My wife has limited mobility, so we paid a bit more than we normally would to get this personal service. It was well worth it! Pauline was accommodating to our wishes, but added her own experiences and the result was three hours filled with fun and learning. She knows the city well, and the golf cart allowed us to park within 50 yards walk of the Trevi Fountain and St. Peter's Square. Pauline was charming and engaging. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime!

Gian Marco arrived promptly at pickup time. He was very informative in his explanations of the significance of the location as well as the history. He adjusted/customized our tour to what interested us. He would answer all the questions we have about the sites. Our tour was from 9:30 am -12:30 pm which was pretty busy on the road but he was able to maneuver around it due to his knowledge of the city and experience. The thrills of riding through the narrow streets filled with cars, motorcycles, scooters, pedestrians, buses, cafe tables and patrons was an unforgettable experience that I recommend everyone have. It helped us become more familiar with the city. He also gave us a a lot of destination/ places to eat and visit while we’re at Rome. It was 10/10 for my wife and I. I would 100% suggest asking for Gian Marc if you’re interested for a fun and exciting ride around the city!

Simply amazing. Getting to see the sights of the Eternal City as the sun set was a wonderful experience and our guide, Tizano, clearly was both knowledgeable of and loved sharing the history and the character of the sights we were seeing. Working with Turtle Tours was also a breeze - they were very willing to answer questions while arranging our tour and we were able to arrange a custom length and pick up/drop off locations, which was a major plus for us. A great way to kick off our vacation - we will certainly look up Turtle Tours again when next we visit!

We took the golf cart tour with Riccardo and it was an amazing experience that we kept talking about it through out the remainder of the day! Getting a private tour is SO worth the money if you’re someone like me who likes to take my sweet time looking around and wants to know every little detail about the city. One of my favorite part of the tour was weaving through the allies getting a feel of the local life. Something I wouldn’t have discovered by myself. The golf cart was slow enough that I could take plenty of pictures inside the moving vehicle.
On top of that, Riccardo was knowledgeable and made the entire trip so fun that I didn’t realize that 3 hours had passed and I wanted more! Highly recommend having a private tour, it’s very different than touring in a larger group!

My family of 3 had an outstanding time quickly cruising throughout Rome, learning a century’s worth of knowledge, and getting photos of all the important sights. Alex, our guide, kept our 8-year old’s attention with his insight into the history of Rome and ensured we visited the top sight-seeing sites. It was an ideal way to explore the city on a condensed timeline. Our son was not worn out by too much walking and the three hour tour did not stress his attention span. One of the highlights was visiting Piazzale Garibaldi, an area over looking the city, that neither my wife or I had visited during our previous trips to Rome. The golf cart was able to dart in and out of traffic, similar to a Vespa, so we were never stopped at intersections for long. I highly recommend this tour if you want to see a lot in a short amount of time and do not want to wear out the soles of your shoes.

Hi,
Is it possible to quickly go inside the Pantheon during this tour rather than just look at the outside?

I made reservations and the add said they would provide a list of hotels, that we could select from, for pickup at checkout, but I did not see such a list. We are going to stay at the Weston Excelsior. Is the Weston Excelsior on your list for available pickup/dropoff?

Hello, for the private night tour for 2 people, is it possible to leave at 9:30pm instead of 8pm? We would like night photos of Rome and sunset is 845. Thank you

We made a lunch reservation for 15 minutes following the end of our tour. Rather than drop us off at our hotel, do you think our tour guide would possibly drop us off closer to the restaurant? I checked and the restaurant is much closer to the final stop than our hotel is. Any information would be helpful! Thanks!

I am so sorry that I did not see your question. We asked our driver for a lunch recommendation and he walked us over to it. It was a lovely lunch in a very popular restaurant. He also gave us a recommendation for a dinner restaurant. We enjoyed it so much that we went back on our return trip thru Rome.
