Colosseum Tour with Arena and Hypogeum. Hotel Pick up and Drop off Included
US$122.24
Overview
Enjoy skip-the-line access at Rome's most famous monument with this private 3.5-hour tour of the Colosseum. Explore from the underground level of the Colosseum to the Third Tier, where you get one of Rome's best views. See where gladiators, prisoners, and wild animals waited to face their fate in the arena above. Visit the Roman Forum and Capitoline Hill as well.
What to Expect
Choose from two departure options, 8:15am or 1:15pm, and get picked up by your private guide at your hotel in central Rome to start your 3.5-hour tour.

Begin your tour at the Colosseum, where you'll enjoy skip-the-line access thanks to your guide. Admire the massive amphitheater from the inside, imagining the battles that once took place there. Hear about the lives of the gladiators, the wild animals that were brought in for certain fights, and even the naval battles.

Head down into the underground level of the Colosseum to learn about the maze of rooms where men and beasts waited to be lifted onto the arena floor by ancient elevators to fight. Climb all the way up to the Third Tier to enjoy a commanding view over Rome.

Continue your tour with a walk to the Roman Forum to hear about this one-time epicenter of the ancient Roman Empire. Walk along the important Via Sacra to see the House of the Vestal Virgins and the Temple of Julius Caesar.

The final stop on the tour is at the Capitoline Hill, one of ancient Rome's seven hills, from which point you'll get one of the best views over the Forum.
