Skip the Line: Colosseum, Vatican and Historic Rome Small-Group Tour
From US$153.85
Overview
This tour is ideal for travelers who are short on time or want to see as much of Rome as possible in one day. Visit many of Rome’s most popular sites on a whirlwind tour, stopping at the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Vatican, and other sites more. Plus, you’ll get skip-the-line access at the Vatican and Colosseum, saving as much as one hour waiting in line at St. Peter’s Basilica alone.
What to Expect
Your morning begins outside of Oppio Caffè on Via delle Terme di Tito across from the Colosseum, where you meet your guide and fellow travelers. Head straight for the Colosseum, where you skip the notorious lines and enter. Tour the ancient arena with your guide, and then make your way to the Roman Forum nearby. Instead of navigating the crowds, take advantage of an overlook to get a peek at the Temple of the Vestal Virgins and the Senate House.

The next stop is the Pantheon, one of the world’s largest un-reinforced concrete domes in the world. Tour the inside while your guide tells you how it was built. Afterward, make your way to the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona of Roman Holiday fame. Stop here for a gelato break, and then take a lunch break on your own.

Meet back up with your guide in Piazza del Risorgimento, and enjoy skip-the-line access to the Vatican Museums. Set off on a curated tour of the Vatican, stopping at the Laocoön Group, Raphael Rooms, and the Sistine Chapel. From here, choose to stay in the Vatican, or skip the lines and enter St. Peter’s Basilica directly from the chapel.

A must do if you only have a short period of time in Rome!

Luigi was our guide and he was wonderful. Full of great stories and little insights that you would never know otherwise. The tour is worth it just to skip the lines, but Luigi made it even more worthwhile with his knowledgeable insights and witty banter...More
