Skip the Line: Colosseum, Vatican and Historic Rome Small-Group Tour
Ideal for travelers who are short on time but want to see much of Rome as possible, this tour takes you to many of Rome’s most popular sites in just one day. You’ll visit the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, and the Vatican, hearing commentary along the way. Plus, you’ll get skip-the-line access at the Vatican and Colosseum, saving as much as an hour waiting in line at St. Peter’s Basilica alone.
What to Expect
Your morning begins at a cafe near the Colosseum, where you’ll meet your guide and fellow travelers. Skip the notorious lines to the ancient arena, where you’ll spend some time learning its history. Then make your way to the Roman Forum to get a peek at the Temple of the Vestal Virgins and the Senate House.

The next stop is the Pantheon, where your guide tells you about how one of the world’s largest unreinforced concrete domes was built. At Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona, stop for a gelato break, then take a lunch break on your own.

Rejoin your guide at Piazza del Risorgimento, and enjoy skip-the-line access to the Vatican Museums, where you’ll get a curated tour of highlights, including the Laocoön Group, Raphael Rooms, and the Sistine Chapel. Choose to stay in the Vatican, or skip the lines and enter St. Peter’s Basilica directly from the chapel.

Amazing day out in Rome

We had a wonderful day exploring the key sites of Rome. Our guide was fantastic. The transport between the two tours was a bonus. Would recommend this tour if you've only got a short stay in Rome.

So amazing. Tour guide was so super knowledgable, funny, and strict (necessary for keeping the group moving to be able to see everything). Would do this again in a heart beat.

Rome in a day walking tour

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide, Maria Teresa was very knowledgeable. Seeing the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon was breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour!

As the other reviews have commented, it does not go underground but the panoramic views are breathtaking!

We took the half day tour which ended at midday. You could always break off early if you were over running. The tour is well worth taking so try not to miss it.
